She sat in the corner, curled up in her own little ball next to the glass doors-- er, tall windows-- she didn't know what they were and it was difficult to tell from her particularly... short, point of view. Her whiskers twitched, as did her nose, and she felt like her senses were going to drive her crazy. Realizing what she scented was... dropped fruit, it was all she could do not to squeak from happiness. As she scurried, she prided herself with the knowledge that mice had more of an exact sense of smell than canines. Then she twitched a bit in a frustrated way that they got all the nose credit.
She found the small little fruit-- a tomato. Immediately, Souris dug into it. She sat upon her haunches, nibbling, squeaking with delight, then nibbling some more. Just a moment later she heard footsteps approaching. She fled, not ready to be seen, picked up by her tail, and flung out. She resorted back to the hiding place in the corner. So far, she had not been seen here and she was quite relieved she'd had such luck today. A few small tomatoes, some small little balls of meat.. she was so full she was almost convinced she'd have to save this tomato for later. Then she chuckled, a light squeak. She'd eat it then and there, no use in letting it grow old.
At that moment, she looked up to see who it was that would be dining in the Almond Blossom. Instead of seeing what she expected-- an Akalak-- she saw a creature she'd never seen before. The creature was fishy, smelled of it, too. Smelled of water. Even looked like a water dweller. What was it doing out of water? Much less, what was it doing surviving out of water? The whole concept of the organism seemed to blow Souris' mind, and thus she knew she'd have to get acquainted. She scurried over to the...feet, of the organism, and once it had sat down, she crawled upward. The skin was rubbery, it felt different than actual skin. Once on its thigh, Souris squeaked. She hoped the waitress hadn't heard her. Much more, she hoped the fishy thing did.
