Nettle District, 10th of Bell, 46th of Spring, 513 AV

"Helloooooo~ Madame Atta? I'm here~" A translucent head peeked inside the Flower Stand, phasing though the various flower plants that were on sale at the front of the flower store. The head had ethereal white hair, crimson red eyes, and corpse-like pale complexion.

A floral headband, oddly matching the various flowers around it, was neatly placed on top of the head. The head belonged to a certain ghost girl named Kouri. She was here today to seek more jobs from Madame Atta, the owner of The Flower Stand. She's an employee after all.

"Goodness, child... do not scare an old woman like that..." Atta looked up from the flower bouquet she's arranging and gazed at the seemingly floating head amidst the flowers. Kouri's body was located behind the plants, she was only phasing her head through them, acting as if the plants were curtains. The ghost girl was adorable and cheerful, Atta could give her that, but her unorthodox entrance and greeting methods did not bode well for an old woman like her.

"I'm sorry, Madame..." Kouri looked down in regret, she only meant to surprise Atta and have a good laugh with her, but it seemed her joke was a bit over the top. Phasing the rest of her body through the plants, she was now inside the store, facing Atta.

"It's okay, Kouri dear..." Atta fixed her clothes, the ghost girl caused a drop in temperature by her mere presence, especially in a closed and small area; but Atta knew it was not her choice to be this way so she made no complains and warmly smiled at her. "Ah, Kouri, I've just the right job for you today, could you help me with it?"

Kouri beamed the woman with a happy smile, that's what she's here for! "Of course, Madame! What do you want me to do?" She leaned her body and swayed left and right in excitement.

"Well, some customers are waiting for their flower bouquets to be delivered, but I'm rather busy with arranging flowers for my orders right now... so I ask you to deliver these bouquets..." Atta pointed to a wicker basket filled with three flower bouquets. "To these people..." She offered the ghost girl a small parchment with a list of addresses written on it.

An ethereal black tendril jutted out from Kouri's back and politely grabbed the parchment. "Mmmmm..." Kouri's eyes scanned the parchment, absorbing the information contained within it.

Delivery List:
1. Mr. Lucien, Traveler's row. Lily bouquet
2. Ms. Kadia, Traveler's row, Red rose bouquet
3. Ms. Bailee, Traveler's row, Tulip bouquet

"Oooh... Madame Atta, they're all at the Traveler's row?" Kouri tilted her head, it was rather convenient that all three clients had the same location.

"Yes, dear, I group my delivery list based on locations to make delivery easier" Atta said, grabbing a flower and arranged it neatly with the others on the arrangement she's working on.

"Oh! I see I see! Then~ I'll be off then, Madame! I'll come back later to give you the payments, ehehe~" With her tendril, Kouri put the parchment inside the basket, between the bouquets, picked the basket, and proceeded to float away with happy ste-... errr... floating.

"Be careful, dear, ahaha..." Atta waved her good bye and returned to her flower arrangement. "Matilda is going to get a good surprise, hahaha..."

Traveler's Row, 30 Chimes after the 11th of Bell

"Uuuum... I'm here again..." Kouri stood nervously in front of the Traveler's Row. Playing with her rain ribbons nervously, the flower basket floating beside her held by her tendril. "Uuuu..." Kouri was rather hesitant to enter the building. She had just remember that Castor lives here.

She shuddered, that insane (Note: in Kouri's mind) man... who could touch her even though she was not materialized... who could read her memories even though she was the one possessing him... who could... "Aaaaaaaaaah!" Kouri shut her eyes, screamed. and rapidly shook her head side to side. Echoing her haunting voice in the area.

"......" Snapping her eyes open, she noticed some people were staring at her. Some terrified, some annoyed, some... smiling?! "...." Looking down embarrassed, Kouri quickly approached the row of doors.

Once near, she stopped for a second and looked from left to right, her very long ethereal white hair slowly swayed with her motion. Now, where's the office? Oh! That way! Remembering the office's location, she immediately floated there, the flower basket obediently followed its master all the way.

"Uhm... excuse me..." She timidly excuse herself in front of the door leading to the office. I hope whoever is inside not afraid of me... It would jeopardize her whole job if it was the case. Kouri didn't know that Madame Atta already got that covered, it's very unlikely that a woman with as much as wisdom as her didn't thought of a simple thing like people's usual reaction to beings like her.

"Come in, dear, I've been expecting you." A female voice spoke from inside the room. It was very gentle and sounded like the woman knew who and what Kouri is. "You're Atta's new flower girl, correct?" She definitely was expecting her. The door then opened, revealing a woman with very light hair and eyes. Her hair's lightness rivals even Kouri's own.

"W-woah..." Her stunning beauty filled Kouri with awe, even though the woman's skin-tone was very pale, it looked healthy unlike Kouri's corpse-like pale. Kouri's scarlet eyes examined the woman's feature intensely. "Ah! U-uhm..." She looked down in embarrassment, feeling guilty of impolitely staring at the woman. "Y-yes! Madame Atta sent me... I'm Fubuki Kouri, Madame..."

"Matilda Owens, dear, now then please come in" She beckoned for the ghost girl to enter her office. Once Kouri entered, she then headed back to her chair and sat on it. "So..." She took out a quill and opened a record book. "For whom are those flowers to be delivered, dear?"

"Ah.. uhm..." Kouri put the basket down and her tendril searched around for the parchment Atta gave her. W-wow... she's not afraid of me... heheh... Matilda's gentle and friendly demeanor made Kouri at ease. At least she knew that she was accepted here. Kouri's ethereal black tendril found the parchment, grabbed it, and pulled it out of the basket. "Here, Madame..." She extended her tendril and offered Matilda the list.

"Hmmm..." Matilda accepted the parchment from the tendril with calm attitude as if it was a normal human offering something with her hand. She then read the list "Ah, three flower bouquets for three people, I see... Well, dear, I'll write down their apartment numbers and you can proceed to deliver them." Matilda then wrote each client's apartment number next to their names on the list.

"And oh, If the person is not at home currently, I'll give you three notes here, saying that there's a delivery for the person and he/she can retrieve it in my office." With that, Matilda wrote three identical notes on small parchments and put it inside the basket. The Konti then gently smiled at the ghost girl. "Good luck, dear. I know you can do it"

"Y-yes, Madame Matilda! T-thank you for your help!" Kouri bowed to the Konti. In gratitude for her kind attitude and went as much to help her. "I'll be off now! And uhm... I'll come back later after I have finished to report..." Kouri then politely bowed once more, turned around, and headed for each client's apartment room.

Such a cute little girl... Matilda thought With the bloodstains on her dress... It's most likely her death was not a gentle one... don't tell me... what manner of beast could kill an innocent person like her? She slowly shook her head and returned to her work.

"Okay then, first... Mr. Lucien, Lily bouquet" Kouri was now standing before a door. A door that will begin her first direct contact with Atta's client. I... I hope I don't screw this up... Kouri loved socializing, she's a very cheerful, energetic, and extroverted girl. In her life, she had many friends; both boys and girls.

But alas, her current state did not bode well with most humans, not many people appreciate a floating translucent little girl with very long silvery white hair, crimson red eyes, and bloodstained gothic lolita dress talking to them. Fate is a cruel mistress indeed...

"*Cough* Excuse me~ Sir Lucien, I'm from the flower stand, I'm here to deliver you your order." Kouri spoke as gently and politely as she could, she then materialized herself and landed on the ground for extra measure. If one of Atta's clients was spooked by her, it would not bode well for her job and reputation. Materialized and no longer floating, Kouri hoped that her appearance was convincing enough to pass as a normal human.

Kouri put the basket beside her and... I better... be as 'human' as possible... She slithered her tendril across her palm and used it to grab the lily bouquet, this way she somewhat looked like a normal human who grab things by her hand, not a black tendril jutting out from her back.

"Yes! Coming!" The voice of an adult male could be heard from the door. A few seconds later, the door opened, revealing a man in his thirties. This Lucien was most likely a merchant by the looks of his clothes. The man looked down and noticed the... girl. "!? By the gods?!" He exclaimed, not out of fear, but concern "Are you alright? You're bleeding! We should get you to a doctor!"

Seeing the bloodstains on Kouri's dress and front hair, he thought that this girl was heavily wounded. He then proceeded to take Kouri's left hand to take her to a doctor, but a cold icy feeling immediately washed over him and he retracted his hand out of reflex. "Ah! Y-you are cold..."

"Ah... S-sir, p-please don't panic... I'm alrigh-" Kouri tried to explain. "How can you be alright? You're bleeding!" Lucien cut her off, he didn't notice the somewhat odd coloring of her body, Kouri looked like an moving oil painting. He was too concerned for the well-being of the little girl in front of him.

"N-no sir, I'm alright see? I'm a... ghost, p-please don't be afraid of me, Sir. I'm just here to deliver your flowers. Please..." Kouri beamed him a sad look and put the flower in front of her, offering it with her right hands.

"Wha-..." Lucien tried to comprehend what the girl said for a moment, then he slowly calmed down and looked at Kouri, his expression was that of sadness. "I... I see..." She's one of those spirits of dead people... that means she died in some way, what on Mizahar happened to this poor girl?

He decided to keep it to himself, not wanting to hurt the girl's feelings. The topic was most likely sensitive for her. "Well, dear, thank you" He accepted the bouquets gently. "Where shall I put your payment?" He tried to sound as normal as he could. The ghost was really just delivering flowers. "U-uhm.. here please..." Kouri rummaged her basket and picked up a small money pouch for storing delivery payments.

"Very well, dear" Lucien put the Mizas inside the pouch and softly smiled at the girl "Once again, thank you. The flowers are lovely... give my thanks to Atta as well, would you?" This is a story he must tell to his family when he returns home, a flower ghost girl.

"Y-yes, Sir, you're very welcome... and I will tell Madame Atta just that, I will take my leave now... farewell" Kouri politely bowed, put the pouch back in the basket and proceeded to head to the next person on the list. Ms. Kadia... Queen Morwen... please bless me.

"Excuse me~ Ms. Kadia? I'm from the Flower Stand, here to deliver your Red rose bouquet" Kouri used the same stance as she did earlier. Materialized, standing on the ground, and using her hand to held the bouquet. I hope this one goes well...

"Yes... coming..." A calm voice, akin to an elderly woman spoke from the door. Then it opened, revealing an elderly woman around Atta's age. "Oh! Such a diligent little girl, thank you for delivering my flowers, dear..." She acted like she saw nothing out of the ordinary from Kouri.

H-huh?! W-wow! She's kind like Madame Atta! Y-yay! Kouri was very relieved at this development, it seemed that this old woman treated her normally like any other human. "Yes, Madame~ Here's your lovely red roses! It's one of my favorite flowers as well, Madame~" Kouri said in high spirit, her nervousness gone.

"Ohohoho~! You have a good taste, dear. Now... could you help me place the flowers inside my room? Forgive me, but my eyesight is not as good as when I was young anymore, dear..." In truth, the old woman's poor eyesight registered Kouri as a normal-looking girl, she didn't know that Kouri was a phantom.

"Yes, Madame~" Kouri went inside her room and put the flowers on a table. "I put it on your table, Madame~" She went back to outside, passing the old woman who seemed to be counting mizas.

"Here you go, dear, your payment and I gave you an extra silver miza for tip because you're such a lovely young lady" The old woman kindly offered Kouri some mizas for the delivery along with an extra single silver.

"U-uhm..." Kouri wasn't sure on what to do, but decided that it was impolite to refuse such a sincere gift. Kouri picked up and held out her money pouch, placing it directly below the woman's hand. "T-thank you very much, Madame! P-please put it here..."

The old woman chuckled and put the coins in the pouch. "You're very welcome, dear. Now then, this old woman shouldn't keep you, I know you're busy being the hard-working girl you are. Run along now, hahaha" She tried to pat Kouri's head, but then... her hand felt cold, really cold, it was bordering on uncomfortable. !? Kouri's eyes widen in shock, this woman would find out that she's not a human! N-no... no... She began to panic.

"I see... dear, remember my words, whatever happened in the past... is in the past, you should not let your memories haunt you. What this old lips can give you is just an advice... finish with whatever task holding you here so that you may move on... to find peace. I wish you the best of luck, dear..." The woman's voice was very sincere as she gave her advice, so a single tinge of fear could be heard. She proceeded to lovingly rubbed Kouri's hair for a few seconds before pulling away. She then nodded at Kouri before slowly closing the door to her room.

"Wha... what... what just..." Kouri was confused, what just happened? Why was the woman not afraid of her? What did her words meant? "I... I... madame..." She finally understood and a single bloody tear fell from her right eye. "T-thank you..." She silently pulled the money pouch back to her basket, picked up the basket, and headed to the last person on her list.

"Ms. Bailee~ I'm from the Flower Stand, I'm here to deliver you-..." Before Kouri even finished her speech, the door slammed open and a tall woman wearing expensive clothes appeared before her. "Aaa..." Kouri's mouth was open in agape. The woman's cosmetics were a tad bit... okay much too excessive for Kouri's taste. She looked like some clownish doll.

"Hmph! What took you so long? I told Atta again and again for my delivery to be serviced first! I'm a regular customers of hers and I paid good money for it! Good. money!" She didn't even bother to look down to Kouri and just kept her snotty nose up in the air. "Mizas doesn't grow on trees, if this keeps up, Atta might lose one of her very valuable customers that is me. Now you, flower girl, should deliver that message to her and here's your payment!"

She threw down some money in front of Kouri, it fell to the ground making sounds. She then rudely grabbed the Tulip bouquet from Kouri's hand and slammed her door. She didn't even tried to recognize Kouri and as such, she didn't notice Kouri was a ghost.

"............................................................." Kouri was still left in shock, her right hand still in position as if she was still holding the bouquet. Her eyes opened wide and her mouth in agape. W-what the? What just... happened????? She tried to put the together the events that had just transpired in her mind. Oh.... oh... petch... that petching... petching...

She finally realized what just happened, a stuck-up woman who couldn't even keep her head out of the clouds. Kouri could feel anger and rage building inside of her, her dignity had just been crushed to pieces. "kill you... I'll kill..." She whispered in a very low voice, her pupils turning into slits, eyes glowing dangerously crimson.

"Grrrrrrrrrr...." Her hair magically lost its ribbons and spread out behind her like a cobra hood. This woman was going to di-... No... no... I... please... I'm not a bad girl... I'm not... The sane part of her mind spoke to herself. If she murder this woman now, it would only provide her with temporary gratification and doom in the future. She would most likely be hunted down by the knights and spiritists.

"Hmph!" Kouri just scoffed, used her tendrils to pick up her the mizas on the ground, put it in her money pouch, picked up her basket, and proceeded to leave the sight. You don't deserve to be Madame Atta's customer... vagik... She cursed the woman, may her soul be tortured by Rhysol for all she care.

Five chimes later, Kouri was facing Matilda once more. "I'm done, Madame" She reported. "Oh, very good, dear. I hope it went well..." Matilda replied in her ever so gentle tone. "Well... yes! It went well for the... most part, ehehehe~" Kouri decided to keep quiet about that one woman. "I will take my leave now, Madame, thank you for letting me deliver" Kouri bowed to her.

"Ahaha, no, dear, thank you for delivering those lovely flowers. Tell Atta I said hi, okay, dear?" Matilda chuckled and wrote something in her record book.

"Yes, Madame! I will do that~ Ehehe~ Bye-bye~!" Kouri waved her goodbye, turned around, and floated back to The Flower Stand, ready for her next job in the lovely sun-less Fortress City.
