OOCThis is a bit of a short post for me, but basically if you want to meet Alea, jump in this thread because here's your chance Or if you've met her and want to hijack the thread for your own ends, that works too.
24 Spring, 513 (just after nightfall)
It was only a couple of bells after dark when Alea awoke with a shriek. It was the light itching/ticklijng sensatioon that woke her, but what caused her to scream was the realizatiuon that countless tiny creatures were crawling on her skin. She had jumped out of her bed in a panic, only to find that the creatures were everywhere. A sudden defensiveness possessed her, and she ran madly about, gathering all of her possessions and, after shaking the termites out of them, setting them outside. While she was in the middle of this task, a three-foot wide crystal spider named Zed skittered up to her, making tiny, distressed noises. He crawled up her back and, finding her shoulder too small, perched on Alea's head, apparently even more terrivied of the tiny invaders than she was. Tom was nowhere to be seen, but the cat could take care of himself, and often liked to go for a midnight stroll, so he probably wasn't even there.
As she stood outside her home with a pile of her belongings, she was finally able to see the extent of the damage. Her house's majestic stag antlers were withered and rotting. In fact, the whole house looked like a corpse, crawling with maggots. It wasn't so much the loss of her house that struck Alea, though that <> With the destruction and dessecration of the stag's head, she finally accepted what she had been trying to deny. Yuros, her bondmate. She could no longer feel his presence in her mind. In fact, it had been a long time since they had been connected. Their bond was broken, and Alea hadn't wanted to believe it, so she pretended to herself that it was still there. But with the destruction of the house she had built with him in her soul, she could no longer pretend. Yuros was gone, her home was gone. She had nothing but what she could carry, and the few friends who could not talk back.
