Sewati Details Name: Sewati. Pronounced Seh-woh-tee (meaning ‘serrated claw’) Race: Chaktawe Gender: Male Age: 21 Birthday: Day 15, Summer, 492 AV Tribe: Suli Appearance Height: 6.2’ Weight: 220 Sewati has all the common characteristics associated with the Chaktawe. His skin is bronzed with a red tint and his long, jet black hair is braided down his back. His solid black eyes are located beneath a fairly heavy brow. When this is combined with lips that naturally turn down at the corners, he has a severe look and often makes him look sullen or brooding. In spite of this, the smoothness of his skin and the height of his cheekbones gives him an elusive attractive quality. He will often have white paint across his eyes, extending from his brow to his cheekbones. The most notable difference from his fellow Chaktawe are his broad shoulders. His body has been hardened against the desert he has grown up in and although his natural athleticism give him a fair amount of swiftness and agility, his large frame prevents him from excelling in these areas. Character Concept Quiet and reserved, Sewati mostly keeps to himself and is seen as an outsider even amongst his own Tribe. Although not mean spirited, when confronted by someone in a situation he either does not understand or know how to resolve, there is a good chance he will get frustrated and resort to violence as a resolution. For this reason he avoids people and confrontation as much as he can, giving him a subtle presence despite his big size. As a result he has been known to startle others when they suddenly notice him looming nearby. His frustration is always a quick fuse away from uncontrollable anger, after which he will tend to feel guilty and will spend time by himself in introspection. To try and compensate for his abrasive character he will always be open to helping someone, if they are brave enough to ask. He will even dutifully see through his task to completion no matter what, even to the point of stubbornness or causing himself harm. Nevertheless, his sense of self worth is damaged by what he perceives as a lack of unity with his tribe. A deep desire to please others and atone for his weaknesses occasionally leads him towards naivety, as well as blind faith in people he trusts. The thing Sewati enjoys most of all is his hunting. He derives comfort in the peace found waiting in silence and the patience required to track his prey. It gives him a great relief from the tension and anxiety he feels around others. Despite the awkward relationship he has with the members of his tribe, he feels a strong loyalty to them and will not think twice about laying down his life to keep them safe. He considers sympathy and charity a luxury, being of the view that overcoming adversity is important to make yourself strong. So when someone does request his help he will always expect something in return, to show they have some kind of strength. That does not stop him from helping someone in a desperate situation however, if he thinks they have no way to overcome it alone. Although his personality is not a very welcoming one, he doesn’t hold any prejudices against others, no matter who they are or what they might be. Instead he is guarded towards everyone equally and will usually keep all he meets at a distance. However, if he feels someone is lacking in loyalty or neglectful of duty he will treat them with scorn. What he dislikes most of all is people being cruel in any form and this leads to the only reason why he might seek confrontation. |
