Tallis Ishtari Appearance Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 25 years old Birthday: 27th, Summer, 488. Birthplace: Ravok, Sylira Appearance: Tallis has hazel eyes with medium brown hair. He stands at 5’10” tall and has a lean but muscular build. He has a warm smile that disarms most people he meets. On his left shoulder is a scar where a male slave had stabbed him. Character Concept For the most part Tallis is trustworthy until there is something he wants then there is not telling what he will do to get it. Tallis is charming and has a warm personality. His biggest problem is being overconfident which often leads to him getting into trouble of one sort or another. Then when he gets into tight spots he doesn’t always think clearly. He fits in well with most types of people as long as they are human. His opinions on other humanoid beings are mixed but that opinion was fueled after an altercation with a slave. Character History Tallis was born in a private apartment in Ravok. He was the first child born to Razor and Maya Ishtari. The pair of them are still merchants of reasonable success at providing hand selected slaves to the wealthy of Ravok and operating a marginally successful water glider business ferrying people to and from the city. A year later another child was born, Taja, the first girl born to the proud parents. In the coming years two other children would be born a few years apart. The third child was Talia and the last was Tallor. As the oldest child life was not easy for Tallis having high expectations placed upon him by his parents. He had learned early the merchant trade as his parents own a jewel crafting store a few blocks from the docks. When Tallis was sixteen he was introduced to the seedier side of Ravok, organized crime. He stumbled upon it purely by chance as he was running an errand for his mother. He was asked by a stranger if he wanted to make a few extra coins by delivering a package to someone at the docks. After this encounter he continued his off and on relationship with members of organized crime. His mother never knew of this relationship but his father did, and even encouraged it as it gave him connections with whom he could smuggle in special items including unique slaves. When he was nineteen he caught a slave being too bold with his youngest sister. A fight broke out and he was stabbed in the left shoulder. His father, Razor, entered the fray and the slave was subdued. The slave was dealt with severely and sent to be executed. It took Tallis months to recover and still has occasional issues with that shoulder. By the time he was twenty-one he was operating a water glider ferrying people back and forth from the shoreline. Life was pretty good for him at that point. Until one evening he decided to “borrow” a glider and impress a few young women. He capsized the boat. No one was injured and thanks to his connections with organized crime he didn’t lose his job. He was not allowed though to operate a glider and instead was given a job operating a boat around the city. Over the following years he started doing more and more odd jobs for organized crime. Being a boatman it made it easy to pass information to anywhere within the city. He mostly acted as a currier but he wasn’t opposed to larceny.
