A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

75th day of Spring 513

It was close to the end of his shift and Tallis was hoping that no one else would want a boat ride through the cannels of Ravok. His intent was to have a few drinks early on this beautiful spring morning. The stars above we busy winking at the city. The entire city seemed to come alive and be in a festive mood. Even his spirits we elevated to levels not seen since had left the city for a few months.

His return was less than celebrated by others. Outside of his immediate family it seemed that he was not welcomed. His friends seemed to be keeping their distance. Even his contacts in underworld of the city hadn’t even made an attempt to contact him. Despite the circumstances and chaos that were his current life he felt like his luck was about to change.

A silent smile crossed his lips as he looked forward toward the future. He contemplated for a moment on giving up his life of crime and becoming a normal citizen. Living a normal life like the majority of the people in Ravok was a real possibility except for one thing. He liked the excitement of living dangerously.

Tallis’ eyes shift for a moment as a young woman passed by. His eyes drifted to how her clothes fit her lithe and perfect frame. For a moment all other thoughts evacuated his mind to make room for her. It was difficult not to look at her. She was beautiful. When she looked his way he smiled and didn’t look away. She gave him a tight smile and walked off.

He let out a hefty sigh and watched her leave then returned his thoughts to the end of shift and the pint of ale that awaited him in the closest drinking establishment to his humble apartment. Stout ale was going to have to be his comfort on this night and not a warm body of a pleasant female of excellent looks. Tallis’ nodded absently to his daydream not paying attention to what was going on around him.

Dreadfang rushed out of the bar and down through the streets. She shoved past people, not caring what they shouted as she barreled past. Her eyes scanned the canals anxiously. Just one boat, that's all I need. She turned a sharp corner and burst through a family gathered in the doorway of a home. Dread was moving too quickly to apologize. Soon, the shouting of the angry man faded and she slowed to a fast walk. Still, she sought out a boat. Better safe than sorry. Finally, a single boat came into sight. Dread stopped to wait for him, but he seemed to be daydreaming, gazing off into space. He nodded absent-mindedly, as though he had not a care in the world.

Dread stood impatiently on the side of the canal. What is that idiot of a boatman doing? She tapped her foot loudly but he seemed too focused on the woman sashaying down the street to care that she wanted a ride. Finally, the girl cleared her throat.
"If you wouldn't mind, I kind of want a ride here?"

She crossed then uncrossed her arms nervously. If she didn't get out of here soon, she was going to be in a whole lot of trouble. The man she had taken a disliking to in the bar hadn't seemed to take her words lightly, leaving no doubt in her mind that she needed to leave this place, and quick. She could practically hear his footsteps behind her.
"Do I need to find another boat?" Dreadfang complained loudly.

There wasn’t any possible way that he could hope for a better life. His parents were jewelers to some of the most elite of Ravok. It was a life that did not agree with his thoughts of grandeur and adventure. There wasn’t any risk in being a jeweler. Not unless you hoped to be on the receiving end of a robbers knife. Tallis sighed again and focused his thoughts on the pint of ale he would have in an hour or so. His daydream was dashed into a haze of nothingness when a female voice crashed into his hearing.

It startled him to the point where he almost let the paddle drop into the water. His pulse rate increased and bushed his hair from his eyes and tried to be alert. He looked attentively up toward the dock and gave his patented friendly smile that didn’t touch his eyes until he noticed her.

She was diminutive in size but there was something else there that he couldn’t put his finger on. Tallis gave his mind a quick shake and spoke warmly as he could muster considering he was really hoping to be left alone. If it wasn’t for the fact that he needed this job, he would have pointed her to another boat. “No, there is no need to find another boat! I will be happy to take you where you need to go. May I lend you a hand into the boat?”

Tallis gritted his teeth and decided that he had better make the most of this fair if he wanted to keep his job. “Is there anywhere in particular that you need to be going? Or is it a night tour of the city that would please you?”

Dread sighed. How she longed to smack the incompetent dreamer upside the head. Instead, she returned the fake smile he gave her.
"A night tour of the city would please me."
She repeated his words robotically, still trying to get a hang of the way Common felt on her tongue.

The man offered to help her into the boat, clearly only thinking of his own gain but the gesture touched Dread anyway. Deciding she ought to be polite to this man, she placed her own hand in his. Dreadfang curled her claws under her hand and into her palm, letting them dig into her flesh. She could only hope that he hadn't caught sight of her long black nails. She wouldn't have minded of course, but many people around here didn't take kindly to Zith.

Once seated, the girl looked up at him and nodded.
"A wonderful evening, yes?"

He was groaning inside when the woman repeated his words back at him. The only thing he could console himself with was the simple fact that the ale was not going anywhere. It would still be there at his favorite watering hole. All he had to do was get the tour over with and he was on his way.

Perhaps the boat ride wouldn’t be as bad as he thought it would be. The woman took his hand. It was clearly the only friendly gesture up to this point that she had made. She had interrupted his perfect view of the girl he had smiled at. Granted she had walked away, but it hadn’t stopped him from enjoying the view.

He tried not to sigh as she entered the boat. “Yes, it is a beautiful evening.” He said trying to be friendly and why not. She would be in his boat for a while. There was no sense in having a passenger irritated with him. The last time that had happened made for the most unpleasant silence, and no tip! That had to have been the worst working day he had ever had. From that point on he tried to be sensible and polite with his fares.

Tallis untied the boat from the dock and pushed it gently into the canal and jumped on board. He had athletic so when he landed back on the boat it hardly rocked. “So it’s a tour you would like. Well let’s start by going past some of the more famous establishment around the docks… Unless you would rather ride past the temple first?”

As he paddled hard to get the boat moving he finally settle into a more steady easy rhythm. It gave him a chance to get a better look at his passenger. She may have been diminutive in statue but she held herself like a aristocrat.

Hi there.

Dreadfang you have serious character issues, including appearance, behavior and history, that hare all intervened on your CS. Until you get those interventions corrected, you are not eligible for play in any forum anywhere in Miz. And in reading this thread, you are playing your PC as a civilized human with wings. Zith do not talk like your PC is talking, they have a bestial dangerous nature and are on the lower intelligence side. Please play the PC appropriately.

I will remove this intervention when your CS issues are worked out.
