“I have questioned it, but have seen fit to enjoy it for but a while until I come to my senses - which you have done so, O invisible voice.”

Crypt felt around for the origin of the voice, casting tendrils around him in order to detect the presence of the being who had so easily evaded his Auristics - perhaps it was the distraction that Celeste provided, perhaps it was the intoxication that came with having so much power, whether real or illusory, coalesced within his self - but one able to do so piqued the Drykas' interest.

The sudden appearance of the stranger a moment after Crypt finally tasted his impressive aura placed him on his guard; the air grew subtly darker around the Drykas, and Crypt's aura began to emanate a single feeling - any Aurist, or even a Djed-sensitive person, around would describe it as foreboding.

Rich clothes, elderly look about his face. Almost like a noble of the old times, just like Father used to tell me about in his stories. His aura has nary a flicker - perfectly adjusted, balanced and even a tad soothing. He radiates a stunning presence - a leader of men, but one that uses gentle words and wisdom. Oldest oak and honey mead! A fine vintage. But how did he appear so suddenly? It is said that Ionu's chosen can deceive our senses. Auristics may very well be a sense.

Relaxing as Morribean spoke, Crypt bowed to the man.

“Well met, Morribean. I too have questioned this state of matters, but the allure of simply indulging in the sheer joy I could taste in Alvadas was too much to bear. Aye, I must thank you for waking me up from this dream to... Well, I don't know if this is reality or still a dream. Nonetheless, if there truly is a problem, then I shall help you.”

Crypt paused, contemplating the next words he was going to say. They were perhaps a tad too much, but he wanted to know.

“I know that Alvadas hides dark secrets, even darker than the accursed, albeit fascinating, Strands. I still have not recovered from my sojourn into that forsaken place even now. Tell me what you will then, Morribean, and I shall decide where I stand. Does this have anything to do with Ionu? Do you know anything connecting this event with It? Wait, belay that question. If anyone were to know Ionu, he may as well be Ionu itself.”

Scorn's ears twitched at the mention of cooking, and she and her sister dove toward the famous cook, tackling him from both sides. But their intention was not to hurt him; rather they seemed happy to see him. Their double-team bear-hug lasted only as long as their attention span, and soon they were in front of him, practically purring.

"Cook something for us!" the midnight-colored one said eagerly. "Make it one of those things that looks like one thing but tastes like something else!"

Scorn cut in, "But make it taste like blood and meat. I don't care what it looks like, but it has to at least taste like food."

It almost looked like the twins were about to start bickering, but through unspoken agreement, they decided that obtaining delicious food was more important. Both watched the cook expectantly with predatory eyes.

Postby Kuvarakh on May 8th, 2013, 4:02 am

"Something beyond?" Kuvarakh asked distractedly, his attention mostly on the glorious smile on Wanda's face. "Well, yes, I suppose there must be. This is still ME, my soul, regardless of what body it inhabits. I assume this is why a Nuit can't force its way into a live body. It already possesses an inhabiting soul."

He took his eyes from Wanda's and looked wistfully into some abstract distance. "I have always taken it as given that when I...well...die...my soul would go the same way that any others does. To stand before Lhex and be reborn into a new life." He gave with her motion to lead him outside and they walked to a bench, blissfully lit with rapturous sunlight. They sat, his arm draped around her shoulders, her head lying on his.

He recalled her question of moments before. "Legends? Stories? I don't know that I'd call them that. They're pretty much the same stories everyone else here knows. I came here because I had prayed at God's Eye Point several years ago. It's north of here along the coast of the Suvan Sea. When I was done, my shadow stood in front of me, but going in the wrong direction. I turned around and had the briefest impression of a sunrise, but it was to the south of me, coming from Alvadas. I was still searching for answers then. So I came here soon after, hoping to find them."

"Did you?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, knowing she had set him up for an easy compliment.

He looked at her and grinned, knowing there was only one thing to say, "Yes, I found you." They both laughed and fell into an almost-too-perfect moment, hugging, in love, the sun gleaming in benevolent radiance. But still they wouldn't kiss. There was that pall on their moment. it would be there throughout their future, as well. He could not make her kiss him any more than he could make her kiss a dead animal.

She put her finger to his lips. "Hush...it's alright, Ku. I understand." She worked herself into a looser embrace and held his hands, her voice becoming slightly playful. "Oh come on, Ku. You've always got some weird complication that makes you miss a day here or there, or come in late. There've got to be some stories. You've been possessed by ghosts twice, you've been chewed up by mutant bugs, You got hypnotized by that psycho who tried to get you to kill one of your students. Surely you've got some event that involves something from long ago, something legendary?"

In fact he did. But it was a subject that caused him emotional conflict. Not the event itself. There were no nightmares or trauma or anything. But it was the one thing that gave him pause to bind his existence to Wanda. He had entertained the thought of using hypnosis on her to convince her to make the transformation to Nuit, but that would be unethical to the point of being criminal. He had thought about simply asking her, but hadn't yet. 'Perhaps now is the time.' he pondered silently.

His only other option had been to end his Nuit existence when Wanda died her natural death and hope Lhex had mercy on them on their next go-around in life. But therein lay the conflict. He HAD had a legendary encounter. And come away with a possible lead on a new magic, one lost from ages passed. 'Legendary, perhaps?' It would be a massive betrayal of his aims with The Order of Transcendence to let it die with him.

'Wha? Oh it's Archie!' A warm smile appeared on Artur's face as both Kelvic's greeted one another, the fine days of being a top chef in the kitchen soon reflected in his mind. "Archie my friend! I wouldn't call it a master piece just yet, but I've been working on ways to make salmon and chicken mainly!" He cheered as he looked into the deep catlike eyes, both gave a slight chuckle until the unexpected happen. Two of the happy Zith flew about to give him the biggest bear hug they could, soon after they had asked for him to make them food.

Their predatorial eyes were now upon him yet he felt no need to fear them, as it had always been his pleasure to make the best food in Alvadas. What chef didn't enjoy the praise he got for the hard work he put in his food?! "I think I have just the exact thing you two would love!" He cheered as he led them to his room, Archie followed with his the slits of his green eyes on the bear. The two had spent a great amount of time cooking together when Lounel wasn't instructing him, and surprisingly enough for the previous few weeks the bear hardly needed any sort of instruction from the man. Archie though was a good friend that made Artie a little bit competitive, his desire to learn more about food was somehow fueled into a want passion to become better when the Kelvic was around. Thus when he went into his room to retrieve his trusty frying pan he treasured, he turned to the group with a big grin on his face.

"Now I just need a kitchen or cooking spit to use, and I can work some meaty magic for all of you!"' His eyes lit up with excitement as he left his room, he made sure to shut it to keep from others randomly walking in. "Where would be a good place to cook?" He wondered as he wasn't sure if the Den happen to have a kitchen, if it did then he never knew anything about it. Of course there was the Withering Rose, yet it would remain closed until the later hours of the day.

Crypt

The man looked awfully amused by the questions he was asked and the whole act in itself. The elder held up a polite hand, signifying that such formalities were not necessary. ”I am glad that you question everything.” he started, ”For in each question is part of the answer, the truth. It is the question which sets humanity down the road to discovery, and is it not the question that is the driving force of innovation?” he asked, dropping silent not really answering the questions at hand. Instead he was buying time to ponder them himself. Hand up to chin, he thought carefully on how to word this, as he knew that his next words, the next statements he makes, will be the deciding factor if he gains an ally or not.

”Does not everything in Alvadas have to do with Ionu?” the man asked, ”However, I think that it is more of the cities doing than Ionu’s.” he stated, ”Though Alvadas is not working alone. It is being influenced by something, something unnatural. It is for this reason why so many people are rejoicing in the streets.” he said looking around to see the happy people and smiles, ”Though there is a darker purpose to all of this. What being would feely grant wishes without getting anything in return?” he asked, not really letting onto much of what he was thinking. Instead he was more curious on the others observations.

”What do you think of all this? What do you think will happen when everyone gets what they want?” he asked his companion. If it is too good to be true, then it probably is. ”And what may I call you, friend?” he asked, beckoning for Crypt to follow him as he started to walk along. There was evil lurking in every shadow, but the funny thing is that in Alvadas, right now, there was evil lurking in every smile, in every emotion, within every person, and Morribean feared the worst. There was darkness in the heart, and it can come alive when protecting something seen as ‘dear’.

Kuvarakh

The happiness was too great. They were both having a splendid time. She smiled patiently as she waited to hear some more stories about Ku’s past. Though if none would come after a couple moments of silence she would shrug, ”Well, I suppose you already know the legend of hypnotist that drowned in a pool. Verlyna, I think her name was.” she said recalling the story, ”Though I bet you have not heard the tale of the Daydream. The Daydream is a place said to exist in Alvadas.” she began to explain, ”It’s also called the Daydream Field, because to the outsider that is all it appears as, a field of grass. However, to those who need its powers, it is said to transform and transfigure reality around the needy, giving them their every wish, every dream, every desire. It creates an alternate reality though Alvadas’ illusions, one so real that it cannot be told apart from Alvadas normally.”

”It is said that the field itself creates the reality long enough for the person inside to cope with whatever they are dealing with. It is like a great escape into a dream, meant to bring insight and comfort, until one is ready to face the world again. Then as sudden as the field appears, the dream is gone, and the person wakes up in a random location within Alvadas. Fascinating, uh?” she asked cheerfully.

”The field was said to be where one of Inou’s priests died. She was dismayed, depressed, and unsatisfied with her life. In her death her will solidified as her final wish was granted: to help those who were like her. To help those see the joy in life again. To help those live their dream, if only for a short time, because she thought that it would have helped her. So the fields were born to help those unsatisfied with their lives, to help them see what they can be truly, and even though it is just an illusion it has helped many. Though, I have never been to the fields myself. I hope that I never have to go to see the potential my life has to offer, especially when I have you, Ku.” she ended with a smile.

Scorn & Artur

”For a cook as famous as yourself finding a place to cook shouldn’t be too hard.” The cat kelvic teased him, yet he was also pondering different places where they might be able to watch the master in action, cooking something truly delicious. Then he got a rather scandalous idea, and grinned at his ‘genius’ mind, ”You know, big bear, I have my own place that is in the process of opening.” he said, oh so casually, ”A new tavern of sorts, like the Withering Rose, but different in the fact that it isn’t so dark. A place for people to gather and try quality food for a quality price. Perhaps we can celebrate the grand opening with one of the most famous cooks in Alvadas cooking in my kitchen?” he asked. There obviously was another motive behind his offer, but it was worth it.

”The Zith can come too.” he said, ”Eat free, on the house.” he announced, though it would only be for today, of course. ”So, what do you say?” he asked.

ArturIf you agree and think this is a good idea, feel free to describe the place. It will have nearly everything you need and then have cooking supplies you cant think of at the moment :P If not, feel free to suggest your own idea.

Kuvarakh had not thought many of his past travails to be fit subjects for a beautiful day with the reborn spirit of his wife. Most recent were adventures on the shores of the Suvan Sea, mostly involving pirate attacks and a few undersea excavations. He had no great feats of courage or resourcefulness to boast of, just survival.

He could speak of his journey to Riverfall and how he was manipulated into having to kill a Zith, but it was hardly the topic of romantic conversation. He could speak of the red haze of retribution that afflicted him when he killed his first master, after discovering him to be a mass murderer. He could describe the hypnotic twisting of minds to turn them against each other while he made his escape from the grim fate of spending eternity as a lab rat in the Silver Tower of Sultros. He grimaced. 'None of this will do.'

Then he thought he could recall the big snowball fight last summer. Or perhaps his shared conversation with Nira'lia and the talking rose, Natalie. He considered mentioning his second master, Aldren Trask, the man who helped him learn hypnosis. He would need to avoid mention of Trask's son though, or he might find himself going in the direction of the "execution" of the mass murderer, Trask's son being one of the victims. 'Strange how things tied together.' he mused silently.

He found this to be astonishingly true as he turned to see Wanda's shrug. She began to speak, and her mention of Verlyna stunned him with its timing. Verlyna had been there! At that legendary encounter! The one where he'd picked up a fragment of some sort of tie to a lost school of magic! Many colorful names from Alvadas' past had been there. It had all seemed so real...then so much an illusion...then so real again...when it had ended he'd known he was tied to it in some way that transcended present reality.

But "present reality" now included Wanda. But it could not maintain her inclusion. She would not live near long enough. He had been eager to begin researching this lost discipline, but hadn't quite found the time to begin. There's no way that the recovery of lost magic could be done in a single lifetime. It was a dream of an hundred lifetimes! His mind was largely distracted from what she was speaking of...some field of wishes and dreams...something about an alternate reality...can't tell it apart from regular Alvadas.

His worries raced, 'Would she understand the need, the dedication, to unlocking a new magic? Would she want to be a part of it? Her glyphing skill might be a huge benefit to this effort...OUR effort...if she chooses. Would she give the rest of her life to this, knowing she will die and I will go on? How do I choose which one I abandon? I love her and would gladly die for her, but the discovery of a new magic is something I owe the whole world! My marriage vows died an hundred years ago...My oath to The Order of Transcendence is brand new, and was not made casually.'

Something she said brought his focus back to what she was saying. Something about 'an escape into a dream...insight and comfort...living their dream and seeing what they can truly be...' She stated with dreamy satisfaction something to the effect that she felt no need to experience it, since they now had each other, and ended her speech with a smile. Kuvarakh though, was energized with the thought of Wanda seeing 'what they could truly be...together.' His enthusiasm blinded him to the possibility that this "Daydream Field" might be influencing events more than he thought.

He took her hands in his, his eyes bright and intense. "You DO have me Wanda, and you always will. And nothing is more important than that. But there IS something else that drives me that is AS important..." He explained his discovery of a lost magic and his drive, his oath, his NEED to pursue and develop it. He begged her to understand that his greatest wish was that she could share this goal with him. That she could come with him to The Order's new facility being built in Sylira and be his partner, in alchemy, in this new magic, in the goals of The Order, in life.

At first, her face glowed with shared enthusiasm. But by the time he was finished, especially with his voicing of the word "life", her face showed that she, like him, realized the single, insurmountable obstacle to this dream. Not to be denied, his eyes bored into hers. And though he dreaded her likely reaction, he knew the question must now be asked. "Wanda, do you think you could ever consider becoming...a...Nuit...to make this possible?"

"Who knows? Ionu might be powerless to prevent some events from being set in motion right here in Its city - more powerful beings might exist." Crypt muttered, his eyes glazing over momentarily as he remembered the encounter with Dira that had gained him Her mark. He made a fist with his left hand, feeling the mark pulsate for but an instant with his fingers.

Who indeed would be powerful enough to meddle with Ionu and Alvadas? Who would be able to see through all the illusions and trickery?

Crypt shuddered; the existence of Gods was nigh-impossible to deny, though their power levels relative to each other was, for the most part, unknown to himself.

An entity with such strength. A most formidable foe.

"You speak truth, friend Morribean..." Crypt glanced around, noting and sensing the sheer joy evident in the people's expressions and actions with more suspicion - perhaps even a hint of trepidation at what was to come?

"We seek then a reason for the happenings that have occurred since dawn? Very well. I shall join you in discovering the purposes and secrets, though dark they may be, that lie behind this strange event.

You can call me Crypt, Morribean. Where shall be off to now?"

And yet... Morribean, you appear to be good. My enhanced Auristics saw as nothing but truthful and trustworthy. But if the abilities I have gained are granted by some malevolent being, then it could just as easily manipulate me into seeing illusion and not reality. As such, beneath your benign visage might lie a terrible beast. 'Twould be best to stay on guard for now - trust no one but yourself, Crypt. I may not fear Death, but I will still be cautious.

Crypt fell silent, following Morribean closely as they walked through the streets, watching the people of Alvadas revel in that sane madness that had gripped all of the city with the granting of their wishes.

Who else searches for the answer to this enigmatic riddle?

Artur laughed along with Archie when the cat teased him, a loose grin held on his face as he listened to what his friend proposed to him. 'A grand opening? What a perfect way to kick things off!' The looseness of the smile faded as complete joy filled the bear, enthusiastic energy filled the expression he carried when he responded. "I say that it's a fantastic idea!" He cheered with excitement, already Artur felt intrigued about this. Little did he know that another motive could exist for this, but Artur felt a sense of purpose when he thought about cooking in a brand new kitchen.

Archie led them out of the Den and onward into the streets of Alvadas, the two Zith welcomed to join them if they wanted to as they advanced. After some turns made here and there they arrived to find a building that was painted with a faded yellow color, a yellow that appeared to be bright in the daylight. There were a couple of large windows with thin curtains to shield the inside room, but when Archie brought them inside Artur's eyes bulged in awe as he looked at the entire room. Fine wooden tables and chairs filled the main hall of the tavern as well as a bar, the walls were dark orange that seem to give a sort of creative energy to the whole place. It felt as though inspiration filled the very halls of the eating area. 'Wow!'

"This place is fantastic Archie!" He enthused with excitement, eager to see what awaited in the kitchen area. He had no idea what he would prepare for the first customers that would enter, but considering his first customers were Zith it would have to be something bloody just the way they liked it.

OOCSorry for the delayed post, I've had a incredibly busy past few days. :) I left it open for more details for you Fallacy.

Crypt

Morribean smiled all questions and observations were astute. The walking continued as the both talked, ”Crypt, what a dark name you possess.” he mused, ”However the name doesn’t make the person, does it?” he laughed leading the way through the streets of Alvadas, as much as anyone could lead the way through Alvadas that is. A key was clasped in his hand and he seemed to be following its slight influence, tug, to their destination.

”We are going to meet a friend. Together we will break this spell that Alvadas holds on her people.” he claimed boldly, ”She is a priestess of Ionu and a well-respected member of Alvadas.” The last part, well, depends on who you ask. Some adored this mystery leader, others think she is a wolf in sheeps clothing using the small church she started to further her influence and power inside the city.

A smaller and unassuming building they soon arrived at. Made of dull grey brick the place itself made no move to stand out, but for something so plan and colorless, ironically, it did end up seeming a little odd, a little too ordinary. Never the less the key fit into the door, the lock clicked, and entry was granted. Candle light lit the place, and the sun shone through the window providing natural light. The place was not dim, or well-lit but something in between, something comforting to the eyes almost. The room was scarcely furnished, only a small table in the middle of the room and four chairs.

In one of those chairs sat the friend Moribean mentioned on meeting. Crypt would see what could be described as a konti. Pale skin and white hair graced her form. Her hair wrapped around her, and fell well onto her lower back. Her dress, if you could call it a dress, rattled together with every movement. They were all highly ornate, with intricate carving and black etchings upon white stone. Many bracelets and odds and ends were present in the outfit, necklaces, rings, just jewelry, but none had a jewel in it. Nope. No jewels were present; instead there were more etchings, carvings, and art beyond the pale and cold form of gems. This was Yagame, and she smiled at the two of them.

”Welcome.” she said with a smile. Her voice like honey that made just about anyone want to listen. The one word was spoken with so much power and authority that made even Moribean seem humble. If Crypt would look there was defiantly magic at work, but not of the personal nature. The woman had a much darker aura around her that marked as ambitious, but also set the one in contact with it on edge as if anything could happen in her presence. It was quite the contrast between her and Moribean, almost confusingly so.

”Who is this?” she asked, ”A new recruit?” sounding almost overjoyed. With her voice her aura changed as well. The creepy feeling was muddled by something much more bright, cheerful, welcoming. Moribean nodded and she followed up with a ”Wonderful. My name is Yagame.” she introduced herself, ’it’s the finest pleasure to meet you.” she looked like she was going to say something more, but then stopped and looked at Moribean quizzically.

”Crypt.” the old man answered.

”Crypt.” she smiled at him, ”Please have a seat.” she gestured to them. The old man didn’t need to be told twice and promptly sat down.

”As you know we are going to help rid the city of this infection which has tainted Alvadas.” she said, trusting Moribean perhaps a bit too much as she began explaining the plan of action without any further questioning of the new man.

”While you were strolling around Moribean I have pinpointed the location of the illusionary flux spread out over the city.” She continued, ”It seems to have originated within the Field of Dreams.” she mentioned, ”The field, however, is not physically here.” she tried to explain …

Kuvarakh I

”And what be that something which is just as important as I?” she asked with a small uncharacteristic giggle as if she couldn’t believe it herself. She wouldn’t define herself as necessarily possessive, but more logical. She needed to know what was important and what wasn’t, and although having to work with the nuit for quite a while she had little clue as what could be as important as love and togetherness.

”A nuit?’ she asked seeming lost for words. That was quite the life changing question to ask. Her first impulse was just to say yet, but then a bit of reality set in and she frowned a bit. Could she become a nuit? Could she handle the change? A business like hers thrived on reputation and being a nuit would effect that. Skill could have a big part to play but if people were creeped out just because you are who you are then… Life, if you could it such, would be emptier that is for sure.

”Do you understand what you are asking Ku?” she asked him, looking at him with worry and perhaps a bit of fear in her eyes. There had to be another way, there had to be. Love does triumph over all, right? There had to be another answer to this problem, ”I… I am just not…” but before she could finish her sentence her stomach let out a grunt of its own. She hadn’t eaten quite yet. Her own noises made her blush. Nuit don’t make such noises as they never do get hungry, and somehow she felt a little less secure the more she thought about the possibilities. They could make it work, she knew they could, but would the world let it be? Would Fate allow it?

Artur I

The cat only grinned to show off his accomplishment to his friend. He liked the reaction he got and the attention it got him. As they were walking a small crowd started to follow the two of them and eventually they were lead to this building. Some people peeked inside to see what was going on, eager but cautious to join them as the zith made people nervous. Archie had no preference, but if he did he made no show of it.

Leading the way to the back room, where the kitchen was, Archie was interrupted, or rather intercepted, by his bondmate Leaila. She was human, unimposing and small figure. Short blonde hair, blue eyes, and wore a pink dress with white poka-dots. She hugged him tightly, ”This is so great Archie.” she said, the cat returning the hug perhaps with a bit more enthusiasm than her. She was shorter than him, and when they broke apart from their embrace she smiled at Artur, having heard of him before from Archie. She still couldn’t believe that her cat was friends with Artur, THE ARTUR. The chief himself had quite a reputation, and she seemed lost for words when looking at him, stumbling a little in her walk making Archie sure to catch her by an arm.

”What, what are you doing here?” she asked awestruck that a chief of his stature would even set foot in this establishment. Sure this place was Archie’s and Leaila’s dream come true, but to have such a chief in the place too? It seemed too good to be true, but it was happening. She seemed flustered and anxious but Archie’s free hand found her back and she looked up at him.

”He agreed to cook for us.” he said with a big cat-like grin, ”And don’t worry about the Zith, they won’t do anything to you. I promise.” he said. In truth the girl hadn’t seen the zith at all too focused on the famous cook. It seemed Artur’s very presence was drawing people in already and they had barely just got here.

She looked at him questioning to even admit to her hunger or not. Would it be rude to eat in front of a nuit? Though all such thoughts went from her mind as she spied a group of people gathering around someone, something. Curious she went to investigate, grabbing a cold nuit wrist to take him along too.

Her curiosity was soon settled as she spied Artur. She immediately knew who that was, all of Alvadas knew of the famous chief who cooked even for the Triad itself. Just seeing him made her hunger rage and stomach cry out in protest again. Soon though the famous bear made his way into a yellow building, and some people trickled in after him, ”Lets get something to eat.” she suggested shamelessly wanting to eat some food. If Artur was in that building there was a good chance that he was either instructing someone on how to cook or he was cooking himself. It was something that she did not want to miss out on herself.

She made her way into the building, squeezing through the crowd, but really they parted as soon as they saw or perhaps smelled the nuit. A nuit and some zith… the new establishment was sure getting a rocky start. BUT Artur was there, and what being, human or not, did not want to at least taste something he made. Nuits can taste? Wanda did not know.

Artur II

The couple noticed the people wandering in and quickly ushered Artur to the back kitchen. The floors were of cold stone, and there was an iron grittle, stove, and oven all squished together in a small space. Across the room was a fireplace, and on one wall was a well-stocked pantry. Cast-iron pots and pans of all sorts hung from the walls and placed around the kitchen. In the center of the room was a big wooden table, and under the table was more pots and pans. Knives were resting on that table for all sorts of purposes and things. Each one had a different edge for a different purpose, all of course related to cooking. It was quite the fine set up, a dream come true, for those hoping to start a business here.

Archie smiled and patted Artur on the back, the cat was very touchy feely even with friends, ”Well, isn’t it perfect?” he asked.

Leaila worked on welcoming everyone in and taking their orders. She got drinks and other simple things, but it was up to Artur and Archie to cook all the orders. It was time to get cracking!

Artur :
Please, cook away! The orders don’t have to be anything specific. Enjoy yourself

OOC :
Ive been given a month to finish this. The pace is mainly my fault, so apologies there. Im going to try to make up for 'lost' time and finish within the time frame. This will be an interesting ride XD for all of us.

12 hour shifts have started, and Im working 6-7 days a week mandatory overtime. My replies will be slow until I can adjust to this new groove.

OOC :
Good to have you back, Fallacy! Looking forward to what happens next! :D

"Only if you see it to be so, Morribean - a crypt is a place of rest for our weary bodies, though our souls go onwards. Death is but the next great adventure, after all. But Lhex is fickle. Names have power - perhaps even more than many realise. It allows those who use it a greater sense of familiarity with the named person. But who are we to dwell on such dark matters now, when another more pressing issue is at hand?"

Crypt moved fluidly through the shifting streets of Alvadas - they were acting up more often than usual, which was probably due to the strange sun-like object. Neatly dodging several glass spheres, which shattered against a wall and started flowing upwards, coalescing together to form a warped figurine faintly resembling a dog, Crypt followed Morribean, idly noting that every movement of his seemed unnaturally graceful.

Moving into the nondescript building, Crypt was greeted by a strange lady - presumably the priestess of Ionu.

Witch?

Yagame tasted sweet. A little too sweet, perhaps. Her voice echoed in his ears far longer than he liked. Her aura set his teeth on edge, and placed him on full alert. The artifacts, the items present around her held traces of a magic Crypt had never encountered before. Her aura exuded a presence - a pressure that appeared to affect everyone in the room. It changed rapidly, never allowing Crypt to have a solid grasp on the concept of Yagame. Flickers, glimpses were all that he could feel.

And then it changed almost immediately as she greeted Crypt cordially.

Is this the power of a priestess of Ionu?

Caught up in the analysis of her impressive aura, Crypt muttered a near-inaudible reply and sat down. A chime passed as she went through the details, and Crypt recovered enough to pose a few questions.

"I am... a recruit? For? The group of people that will be working against this... infection, as you term it? What is, and where is the Field of Dreams? Is it related to Nysel?"
