Appearance
Edreina was born with the silvery-blue eyes of her kin. Her pale complexion is offset by the thousands of freckles earned for each hour spent under the burning sun, sailing and watching the people and creatures that passed. A fiery mane adorns her crown, lightening to a near blond color at the ends. Slightly shorter than the average Svefra, Edreina is often mocked by playful companions, but such no longer bothers her; being shorter than others allows her to explore a cave more thoroughly than others. Her build is slim and athletic, the mark of a woman who spends most of her time in the water, but has somehow managed to curve quite deeply and gracefully in key areas, earning endless taunts from her brother. Her frequently bare hands and feet bear thick calluses and scars, proof that she is often pulling herself over or under some stone formation, often without care for herself as her imagination is captured by something ahead and she wishes to reach it before running out of breath or light.
Edreina binds her chest rather tightly with linen, hoping to make herself more aquadynamic. When among her own people or alone at sea, Edreina dresses rather scantily, rarely venturing out in more than her linen undergarments.
Since leaving Sahova, Edreina is now distinguished by the seamless bands of pale violet stone about her throat and wrists as well as a general hardness that has recently entered her features due to being malnourished and the general ordeal she faced during her time in Sahova.

Personality
Despite living on the Anchorage, Edreina spent several childhood years as an introvert, seeking the company of fascinating items over that of other Svefra. If you were to see her talking to anyone, it was likely to be either of her siblings or a foreigner who bore tales to sate her unending curiosity. Edreina is often described as erratic and flighty, losing interest in mundane activities fairly quickly. This tendency is further displayed by her ability to find fascination in anything new, often taking the time to come to know this new thing as thoroughly as possible before moving on. The Svefra has a mind that works in strange, moving at a thousand knots and able to examine issues and events from multiple angles. Her lips are quick to form around questions.
Edreina is rarely seen without a smile and even more rarely without a look of mischief twinkling in her light blue eyes. Misfortune does not weigh heavily on her soul, for she is always finding a way to get around it or simply move on. If something is not meant to be, it will not be. There is a silver lining to absolutely every situation, in her opinion. The only time you are likely to see her not grinning and laughing is either when she is sneaking upon her brother (or Razkar, now) in preparation of a prank or when she is focusing upon some new and exciting challenge; the grin will usually return, however, once her stubbornness has been rewarded with success. She is the sort to go out and do and then think about it after the fact, which often lands her in trouble.
Edreina does not consider herself to be particularly pretty. As any woman does, she has body issues. Her hips are too wide for a Svefra; her skin is too spotted; her fingers are too long. She is not the sort to deny an offered compliment but she will rarely believe it herself. Along this same line, she does not judge other people by their appearances. More often than not, she will be fascinated by anything that makes a person entirely unique from those around them. Many times, she will sit in place, watching those who pass and how they interact with one another. Her fascination will quickly dull, if in a single environment or surrounded by the same people for too long. The only other being that has managed to hold Edreina's attention for any extended period of time is the Myrian Razkar. The fact that they are, in many ways, utter opposites keeps her curiosity in constant motion.
In essence, she is a pure, carefree spirit slowly becoming aware of the darkness in this world.
It was the Spring of 514 AV that Edreina's naivety proved to be a serious problem. She was tricked into trusting the Wizard Annalisa Marin, and taken as a captive. For the first time in her life, Edreina was exposed to a situation where there was no visible bright side; in a day she had lost her love, her possessions, and her future. The one time she tried to defy the Mistress's will, she was branded and tortured. Even through this, she tries her best to find something in Annalisa that is human, and seeks some rationale to the woman's behavior. This shows how desperately she still clings to the hope that there is some good in everyone, and that even so horrible an experience serves a greater purpose.
Since leaving Sahova, Edreina is less keen on trusting others quickly and tends to be rather short with her responses. The realization that living like one born upon the land did not serve her well, Edreina is slowly returning to her more wild Svefra instincts.

History
Edreina Whitewave is the youngest daughter of Illsa and Gnovak Whitewave. Gnovak and his mother, Oneida, joined the Whitewave pod when he was still very young, after their pod had all but dissolved after the death of Lia Goldengrotto. Gnovak's trade is stone work, carving coastal stone, glass, and seashells into beautiful jewelry to be sold at the Flotilla and then shipped to the great Bazaars of Syliras and other coastal cities. Illsa is a basket weaver who has mastered the art of braiding and drying seaweed before weaving it into colorful and pliable baskets. Believe it or not, Edreina was graced with a happy childhood in her pod. No great misfortune befell this Svefra, though that has led her to possess a naivety that would surprise most.
Edreina has two full-blood siblings aside from the multitude of half-siblings created in her parents' brief parings with other Svefra before, after, and during their own pairing... Such is the way of Svefra. Her sister, Zindr, who is five years Edreina's senior, joined the Deepseeker pod when Edreina was eighteen, and they only have contact now at seasonal gatherings and celebrations. Zindr is most unlike her siblings in that she seeks to actively preserve the realm of Laviku, protecting it from interlopers. Her two-year older brother, Surai, still lives with the Whitewave pod and is a sack of lazy bones by trade. The siblings will occasionally sail together, Surai watching the boat while Edreina swims or explores a nearby cave. The family Palivar is often surrounded by a pod of Whitewave Dolphins which entertains the children Illsa and Gnovak often watch while their parents are busy with various jobs and duties, now being past the days of raising their own children.
The Fall of 509 AV was marked by her brief, whirlwind romance with Wrenmae Sek. [Details to come]
Edreina was given her own casinor the same year as her brother when her sister decided that she would join the Deepseeker pod. As tradition dictates, the ship was passed on to a podmate in need: Edreina. Now, she often leaves for days without warning. On her travels, Edreina tends to visit Syliras - though she never strayed far from the docks until Summer 513 AV - or to visit her dear friend, the Otani Uleru.
When the Djed Storms of 512 hit, Edreina joined many others in the search for stranded Svefra, traveling across the Suvan and sharing her ship until she could help transport her kin to the Anchorage Flotilla.
Spring of 513 AV started off as normally as any new year would on the Flotilla, Parties were had, babies were made, and Edreina was bored. Just when all hope seemed lost, a stranger with dark skin, adorned with tattoos and scars, carrying a cloak of scalps arrived upon the Anchorage. After hearing him tell a story one night and then accidentally intruding upon one of his rituals many nights later, Edreina and the Myrian Razkar quickly became friends. As the season wore on, the Svefra instructed the Myrian on how to swim - Really, who sails out into the center of the Suvan without knowing that? - in return for a few lessons in combat from the seasoned warrior.
All the while, a tension began to build between the two. At first, Edreina believed it to be a purely sexual curiosity, but was rebuffed by the man because he was devoted to a far away woman named Ayatah. Once this was over, the two attempted to carry on their friendship as normal. One's attention should be drawn to the word attempt, once more. By the end of the season, they had kissed twice and shared gods-only-knew how many glances.
Growing tired of life upon the Anchorage, Edreina decided to sail to Syliras for a season or two, and was delighted to find that Razkar shared the same heading. The Myrian ended up staying with Edreina upon her ship in return for more fighting lessons. The season wore on, emotions continued to be buried deep or ignored entirely until the 35th of Summer, 513 AV. That was the day that Edreina nearly died after being taken hostage by a rival of Razkar's, only to be saved through impalement. At the prospect of losing one another, Razkar and Edreina finally began to realize that feelings deeper than friendship may exist for one another.
As she healed, Edreina developed a platonic relationship with the local harlot, Matthew. The intelligent male helped Edreina begin to admit, to herself, the depth of her feelings for the Myrian. When she was released from the healer's on the 39th of Summer, the duo finally admitted aloud that they could no longer ignore what they felt for one another, and spent the night in the comfort of one another's arms, battling together against the nightmares that plagued Edreina.
After hearing a rumor that Razkar would be traveling with a trading caravan to Zeltiva, Edreina's mind jumped to conclusions and, before she knew it, the redhead owned a horse and was preparing to force herself along with him, thinking that whatever reason he had for leaving her without telling her could be solved if she was able to show him her commitment. When Razkar learned of this, he revealed that he knew not of the caravan nor the trip to Zeltiva. The duo went to speak to Razkar's employer Mr. Valini and found that yes, Razkar was expected to accompany a trading caravan to Zeltiva, Valini had simply not seen it pertinent to give the hired hand forewarning. Edreina was adamant about not being left behind and, eventually, Razkar consented to take her along. However, for their own safety, the lovers had to don the disguise of master and apprentice from that point on when in public for their own safety.
They traveled to Zeltiva in search of Ayatah with a mercenary band and a caravan. Along the way, they faced a Yukmen hoard and a Trickster Dhani bent upon stealing away the fair young woman. The journey allowed Edreina to learn how to be harder on the outside in order to keep others from testing her resolve.
Upon arriving, the duo parted in order to allow Razkar to seek out his once lover. He learned that she had fled to the Isle of Darva and never returned; he returned to Edreina with a shattered soul. With love and patience, she pieced him back together and the two decided to leave the city of Zeltiva by sea. They were soon hired by a man named Justus to escort a group of Denvali to the city of Sunberth. While in Zeltiva, Edreina received brief tutelage from a nuit named Ignotus Everto and was inducted into the magic of Reimancy. Just days before leaving the city, they encountered Yahal in the woodlands outside of Zeltiva and left with opposing marks; Edreina's purity and trust had earned the god's favor.
The next season was spent tediously in the stinking cess-pool that is Sunberth. Little of note took place.
Spring of the new year and Sahova has proven to be the worst experience of Edreina's life. She was taken captive by Annalisa Marin, a Reimancer of the Sahovan Citadel. The evil woman was able to destroy Edreina's desire to harbor hope and force her to submit in only a few days by exploiting her limited experience with negative situations.
