Jantys Vane's reaction was not new to Dov. A lot of people spoke to him in a negative manner, like they wanted to escape or at least not be around him anymore. Not a single person had been able to stand him since he got to Syliras. Perhaps it was because they did not see him as a young child. The mind he had was only three years old, soon four. He had not gone through the same experiences as a human had with his appearance. All the knowledge he seemed to have - he had not. Dov only knew of his animal instincts and what his parents and the wilderness had thought him. A kelvic strive to be human, he was no exception, therefore he tried hard to contain himself, but in the end he was a young bear as much as a young human.
When Jantys Vane clearly got caught on the statement of him being a bear, Dov nodded with a big smile. In his human form he only had one thing that really proved he also was a bear. He showed his teeth once again for Jantys Vane, exposing the more defined canine teeth. "A bear."
The knight agreed to help. Dov's smile got even bigger, really wide, nearly as wide as his brown pleading eyes - which now only expressed joy. Dov showed the knight his fishing rod by waving it right infront of him.
"I can fish for food, squire Vane! I eat berries too, squire Vane!" Even if the knight only was a squire it did not really mattered to Dov. His sparkling armour was convincing enough, he confirmed his right to be a knight even more by actually helping the impatient kelvic boy. That kind of kindness was as alien to Dov as bears were to Jantys. The only outcome Dov had thought of was to run Jantys Vane down and then scare him. It was not really about getting food anymore, it had become a young bears game - it had been a long time since he played with someone. Hunt for food with someone was the most entertaining thing Dov could come up with.
