75 of Spring 513
After kissing Marx on the cheek, Tallis tried to get out of bed without disturbing Marx. Slowly he tried to lift his arm off of her without her waking. This was the first time they had slept together so he was unsure if she was a light sleeper or not. The only thing that was obvious was she had slept in if she had been an early riser. Yet again his ignorance about Kelvics was showing.
His fingers grasped the covers so that he could at least move it off him so he could slip out of bed. Doing it just right so that the cool mid-morning air would not go under the covers. He was certain that would disturb her sleep. The bed moved the moment he lift his leg just a fraction of an inch. It was another thing he was trying to avoid.
His intentions were noble. Tallis just wanted out of bed so that he could prepare a small breakfast for both of them. It just seemed that there would be no getting around not waking her. So he rested his head in the palm of his hand to watch her sleep. Leaving reasonably early to roam the city and then to his parents’ home would be delayed, just for a little while longer.
