Center of scholarly knowledge and shipwrighting, Zeltiva is a port city unlike any other in Mizahar. [Lore]
Zeltiva is still rebuilding and recovering from the debilitating plague of Winter.
Lord of Council Maria Satterthwite contracted the disease near the end of Winter, and though initially her condition looked set to improve, she came out of illness without the use of her legs. Paralysed from the waist down, she is now unable to walk. The loss has hit her hard, and some whisper she is preparing to leave her position.
In the University, one of the Regents, Ronald Jevaur, has died from the disease, leaving a vacant position on the board of Regents. At the same time, the University is beginning to send more research teams into the newly uncovered Ancient Quarter. Their next destination looks set to be a sunken temple.
In the shadows too, where is the mysterious Nuit that uncovered the Ancient Quarter - and does his plans look set to continue? Also, many have noted an increase in the population of the Denvali Quarter. Some have even whispered of mercenaries flocking to the Denvali leader Adarin. What is unfolding behind the scenes?
All manner of politics and play look set to dominate the Summer season.
Summer Calendar
25th: A heat wave rolls in to Zeltiva, turning the air humid and clammy - almost unbearable for Zeltivans who are used to cool ocean winds. The heat causes an increase in the fish odours, and some food spoils in the high temperatures.
36th: Food spoilage draws an abnormal amount of rats into the city - and pest control does a rip roaring trade.
51st: A ship from Mura crashes into the rocks in Mathews Bay - though the Konti passengers escaped unharmed, the treasure went down in the crash. Divers and confident swimmers might be able to retrieve some sunken treasure.
70th: Tribute Day begins in Zeltiva - a day of festivities and divine matromony.
75th: As announced earlier in the season, Maria Satterthwite resigns from her post as the Lord of Council - for now, the seat is still open.
80th: An armed militia descends from the Denvali Quarter. Adarin and his people stage a coup d'etat on the city, forcing Zeltiva into martial law.
More dates to come!
Summer Challenges
For each challenge you have to include it or base a thread on the idea. Threads don't have to be completed so long as the challenge has been completed in them. Each month gets progressively harder. You don't actually have to complete the challenges in order or in their respective months (just the season). The months are simply there for those who like a succinct checklist each month to complete. Those who clear them all (and show me evidence) will earn a Zeltiva seasonal challenge medal. Clearing individual months and even individual challenges can net you Status Points too, so don't be disheartened! There will be additional rewards for individual months coming soon...
