Kouri's Tree, Bronze Woods, 15th of Bell, 14th of Summer 513 A.V

"Sis..." The smaller ghost girl whispered, Rena looked down at the ornamental dagger she held in her left hand. She then lifted her head to look at her older sister, who was happily twirling around; accompanied by four revolving chakrams, each composed of four identical daggers. Kouri brought her today to train their soulmist projection ability.

Her sister's expression was that of a happy little girl playing around with her toys, the toys that had taken so many lives and almost killed two sentient people right in front of Rena's eyes.

Why... why does sis have to be like that... Her older sister might look happy and innocent right now, but when aggravated, angered, or intimidated. She quickly changed, her eyes turned to slits and glowed, and her voice became much lower in-pitch. She also cackled like a madwoman. It's the side that terrified Rena the most, Rena knew Kouri truly loved her and her malice was never directed at herself; but to know that Kouri could kill without much qualm and remorse terribly disturbed her.

Does... us being like this has an effect on our mind? The little sister pondered, she got the thought that their ghostly state had some growing side effects on their mind; insanity being one of them. But... I'm not like that... or... is it? She started to have doubts. She thought she may be sane right now, but with each passing day perhaps she would end up like her sister one day. An evil side that just lurked beneath the cheerfulness of a little girl.

Rena shook her head and sat down, she dropped her dagger on the ground. Her desire to practice was diminishing. She brought up her knees to her chin and hugged them. Will I be just like Sis?

"Ahahahahaha~" Kouri spun her chakrams around her body once more before taking a look at Rena and saw she was not practicing. "Hmmm?" She tilted her head in curiosity, what happened to Rena? "...." Kouri decided to talk to her, she stationed her chakrams beside her shoulders; two on her right and two on her left. She then floated to her little sister and sat down on the ground beside her. "Rena? What's the matter?"

"Oh... it's nothing, Sis... I just want to sit down, that's all..." Rena was grateful for the concern, but she couldn't ignore the fear deep inside her; fear of Kouri's insane persona.

"Okay, Rena... just tell me if something's wrong okay?" Kouri patted Rena's head with her left hand and beamed her a gentle smile.

"I will, Sis... dont' worry." Rena tried to assure her sister that nothing was indeed wrong.

"Okay then... ah, let me stay with you just for a while..." Kouri didn't continue her practice and kept sitting beside Rena in silence, enjoying the afternoon forest air.

[Bronze Woods] Morbid Festivities (Yuri)

Postby Yuri Forsin on June 11th, 2013, 1:52 am

Warm sunlight filtered in through numerous tree branches into the forest, bathing the woods in a gentle light. The forest was sublimely quiet, just as Yuri liked it. The ghost glided calmly amongst the trees, his ethereal clothing and black hair rippling in an unseen wind, his pendant floating midair as it always was. After having spent the last few days in the bustling crowds of Syliras, Yuri gladly welcomed the change of scenery to that of the Bronze Woods. Away from the eyes of others, so often looking at the ghost with derision and fright.

In these woods, Yuri also felt he could compose much better, never forgetting his past life as a pianist and composer. The ghostly form of the young man could be seen tapping with his hands in front of him as though a piano was floating along with him, as in the ghost's mind he heard the mellow notes of a piano ring out. Eyes closed peacefully, occasionally opening his bright green eyes to the afternoon light. A beautiful melody was playing, heard by Yuri alone.

Yet, today as Yuri played the music of the mind, he felt... bored? The ghost was shocked at the thought of it. It was music that had kept his mind off of more, unsavory things. Like... revenge and loneliness. The state of his mind was about to flicker through many emotions rapidly in an unstable fashion.

Ceasing his hands from their movement, Yuri left the elated world of notes and harmony to the harsh real world. Shaking his head, he tried to get rid of those thoughts, but they continued nagging at him. Standing still as a statue now, hands rigid at his sides, the ghost's usually calm green eyes glimmered like those of a wild vengeful animal for a second, as the hatred for that man rose again just for a second. In time Yuri... in time... Yuri told himself like he always did when these feelings arose. Yet now he heard another side of his own mind speak: How much longer?! Aya is suffering while you wander... making music?! The young man saw more blood blossom upon his clothing as these emotions rose.

"Ku..." Yuri gritted his teeth, impatiently blinking in rapid succession to cool off until he found himself lithely perched upon a branch at the top of a tall tree. Sighing sadly, the ghost clutched at the pendant floating from his neck. A silver pendant in the shape of a treble clef, a gift from his sister and father...

"Aya... one day I will find and free you... Father... I will avenge you... But I'm... still too... weak..." The ghost clenched his fist tightly around the silver pendant, fighting back furious tears. So absorbed was Yuri in his own emotions that he didn't even notice the forms of two ghostly girls beneath the tree as they sat together, the thought that they were the same kind as him not even entering Yuri's distraught mind.

OOCSorry for the little display of rapid emotion change. Yuri is a bit unstable on that matter (not crazy mind you), hope you don't mind :) Now this is where two lovely ghost girls can come brighten him up! :D

OOCBrighting up, coming up! Mwa ha ha!

"Rena..." Kouri suddenly spoke, breaking the comfortable silence between them.

"Yes, Sis?" Rena's violet eyes turned to gaze at her older sister. She saw her expression was cautious and alert, something was up.

"Someone is here..." Kouri patted the her little sister's head and leaned in closer to whisper. "I think it's another ghost... at my tree branch..." Kouri recognized another presence of soulmist other than herself and her sister, this presence was foreign and Kouri was not going to let this other ghost waltzed in as he pleased.

"What... are you going to do, Sis?" Rena also whispered to her sister, she was nervous; not because of the other ghost but because her sister might be aggravated and hurt another innocent being.

"Don't worry... I will talk to it first, to see if it's friendly or not okay, Rena?" Kouri proposed, she realized that Rena became cautious ever since she saw her insane side. Kouri was determined to ease her, to show her that she could change... at least in Rena's presence.

"Okay, Sis..." Rena nodded, she trusted her sister's words. Kouri had never lie to her before and Rena didn't think she would now.

Kouri nodded and launched upwards, all for of her chakrams following close at her shoulders. She kept flying until she reached the other ghost's eye-level. Her chakrams spinning beside her shoulders, her soulmist-coated chakrams could directly injure another ghost's soulmist even if they were not materialized.

Kouri stared at the male ghost before her, a slim male with bright green eyes, black hair and Nice suit... refined black tailcoat with a white ruffle shirt underneath and black pants complete with matching black boots. Oh... so it's not only me... She also noticed the bloodstains on his clothes, it seemed bloodstains were the trend of ghost fashion nowadays.

"Oi!" Kouri crossed her arms over her chest and spoke to the male ghost. "Explain why you are here or..." Her chakrams spun rapidly beside her, buzzing like oversized hornets. "my pets will show you out..." She threatened to prove her superiority. "I'm a ghost as well, don't think I can't hurt you, you know..."

[Bronze Woods] Morbid Festivities (Yuri)

Postby Yuri Forsin on June 12th, 2013, 1:23 am

OOCYour idea of brightening Yuri up is threatening him?! Hehe :p

A few moments passed, and it seemed Yuri had somewhat settled down from his flashing emotions. But his mind was still not clear enough to sense the presences of soulmist just below him. Hand still clenched around his pendant, Yuri gazed absentmindedly out at the vast acres of the Bronze Forest, calming his mind down No point moping around like this, I should get- WHAT THE?! Yuri jumped back in surprise from the branch, his ruminating having been abruptly disrupted by the appearance of what seemed to be an ethereal young girl floating in front of him, arms crossed with four unusual weapons suspended midair via her black soulmist tendrils. Soulmist... the girl was a ghost!

Yuri's eyes widened a little in shock for a second as he faced the ghost girl who had suddenly popped up from seemingly nowhere. This lasted barely a second as he regained a somewhat calm composure, or tried to as he stared at the young-looking ghost. Okay, another ghost... the only other ghost I ever met was the one that killed me. Great. Deathly pale skin, ruby red eyes, long pure white hair, an elegant but bloodstained red and white dress... I'm not the only well-dressed but bloody ghost out there am I? And... she was so young; Yuri felt a twang of sadness inside as he thought of what could have possibly happened to the girl in front of him, but that emotion was blown away soon.

The female ghost soon began asking in a threatening manner of what Yuri was doing here, her weapons which Yuri could now discern as four daggers held together by soulmist tendrils spinning dangerously like tops filled with killing intent; he could feel the soulmist covering the chakrams. Whatever scrap of the thought that this girl was harmless left Yuri's mind instantly. He knew she had the greater ability, Yuri sadly admitted, and was not afraid to attack if the need arose. Behind her childlike exterior, Yuri could sense that she held more than met the eye.

Alright, lets just simply explain to her why I'm here... and not get cut to shreds. Yuri put up a polite but nervous smile, "Oh, I'm sorry for trespassing young lady," Yuri added in the formal title, seeing the girl looked like she came from a wealthy family, "I was just... er... blinking here and there, looking for a spot to rest for a bit. Once again, I'm sorry if I disturbed you." Definitely sounds better than, "Trying not to cry." Now he can only hope the ghost girl would put away her floating weapons, they were really making Yuri nervous. That is, if she was not insanely violent, which Yuri prayed earnestly against. Last time he had met a ghost like this, Yuri had died.

OOCYou would do that too if someone intruded your home.

Hmmm... I see~ Kouri put her right hand to her chin as if considering something. He apologized and his manner is polite... The male ghost's gentlemanly clothing and demeanor scored major points in Kouri. Her strict noble-like upbringing made Kouri into a girl who adored etiquette and decorum. "Apology accepted, Sir" Kouri beamed him a polite smile, if this gentleman wanted to rest in her home; he would be free to do so.

Kouri elegantly flicked her hair, billowing it to the side. Her chakrams also stopped spinning and moved in a more relaxed position. "Rena~ come here please!" Kouri shouted below, directing it to her little sister.

"Eh?" Rena tilted her head upwards to see her older sister waving, a happy expression on her face. Phew... it all went well then, good... In the back of her mind, she was expecting to hear the violent buzzing sounds of Kouri's chakram and her maniacal laugh as she slaughtered the other ghost. Rena sighed in relief and floated upwards to meet both her sister and the male ghost.

"Ehehe~ Rena~" Kouri took Rena's left hand with her right and faced the male ghost, she was planning to introduce themselves. She slowly lifted the hem of her dress and bowed slightly "My name is Fubuki Kouri, Sir. But you can call me Kouri~ Ehehe~". Rena also followed suit and introduced herself as well "And I'm Rena, Sir... an honor to meet you".

They slowly lifted her head and Kouri continued, "May we have the honor of knowing your name, Sir?"

Wen the young ghost accepted his apology and returned it with a smile, Yuri sighed in relief. "Ah, thank you very much young lady." Situation averted for now, thank the gods... Yuri was glad the young girl was as well-mannered as she was dressed.

Hmm? Another ghost? Yuri looked with mild surprise as another ghost floated up, a girl who looked even younger than the one he had just met with pale blonde hair and violet eyes. Her clothes were as fancy as that of her... sister? Yuri hazarded a cautious guess at it. The way they held their hands together and the way they acted together, it was both cute and close, only found in the bonds of siblings.

Yuri smiled a little as the two ghosts introduced themselves politely. Nodding at them, he placed his right hand flat against his chest and bowed politely, scraping his left foot back against empty air. "Yuri Forsin... but just Yuri if you prefer. Its an honor to meet you, Misses Kouri and Rena. Are you two perhaps... sisters?" Yuri cautiously asked.

Slowly lifting his head up, Yuri waved his hand politely no at the two, "There is no need to call me Sir; I am not a knight, just a musician." Yuri felt his previous anxiety wash away as he talked, gently floating midair. "Now why don't we head down to the ground and talk? Can't stay floating up here forever, although we probably could if we wanted." Yuri felt a light chuckle and smile creep out; how long has it been since he had cracked a joke like this?

"An honor to meet you, Sir Yuri~" Both of the adoptive sisters answered at the same time, happy expressions on their ethereal faces. Kouri and Rena both giggled when Yuri made a spot-on guess. "Yes!" Both sisters answer at the same time. "I met Rena at the Silkwater Lake a season ago~" Kouri explained.

"Sis said a white wolf Kelvic named Ama was the one who guided her to me..." Rena further elaborate the history of that fated night.

"H-hmph! Madame Ama is so annoying... b-but she's quite nice when she doesn't have that damn light on her..." Kouri's relationship with the dire white wolf Kelvic was kind of... unique to say the least. Kouri respected and secretly liked her but she didn't want to show it.

She also harbored rivalry with the Kelvic, it was one-sided though as Ama viewed her as a lost child that needs to be guided. Ama, being the wise motherly figure she was, knew the ghost child liked her so she didn't take any of Kouri's rather poor attempt at haughtiness seriously.

"Oh! A musician?!" Kouri's crimson eyes figurative shine, her excited voice echoing in the Woods. Rena couldn't help but giggle at her older sister's sudden burst in excitement, this was the Kouri she knew; not that psychotic murdering phantom.

"Awww, but I like you! A musician is just as honorable as a knight! So I'm going to keep calling you 'Sir'! Ehehehe~" Kouri insisted then she approached closer to Yuri, locking her excited crimson eyes with his bright green.

"I'm the member of the Vantha Snowsong Hold, Sir Yuri. Do you know about the Vanthas? If you don't, the Snowsong Hold's members are all artists and musicians! I'm a singer~" Kouri truly loved explaining her heritage's history to another person even though she couldn't be called a Vantha or human anymore.

"......" Rena kept silent, only a small sad smile on her face. Kouri was visibly much more attached to her past live than herself.

"Alright! See you below, Sir! Let's go, Rena~" Kouri put all of her chakrams inside her treasure hole and retracted her tendrils to her body. She then gently pulled Rena, floating down to the ground below.

Once there, Kouri cutely sat on the ground with Rena beside her. The sisters looked up to Yuri, ready for his descent. "Please tell us all about you, Sir~" Kouri asked in a curious tone, completely forgetting the fact that Yuri was also a ghost and most likely had some kind of awful memories he didn't want to talk about.

[Bronze Woods] Morbid Festivities (Yuri)

Postby Yuri Forsin on June 14th, 2013, 2:48 am

So they are adoptive siblings... just like Aya and me. Yuri smiled sadly to himself as flashing memories of his adoptive sister passed through his mind. He pushed these thoughts back though, instead Yuri further listened to the two ghost girls, listening especially with interest at the mention of the Kelvic named Ama, who seemed like an important figure in these woods. Best meet her someday...

Yuri couldn't help but chuckle at Kouri's excitement when he told her he was a musician. The way she acted, so child-like and innocently, it warmed Yuri's heart, as his normally introverted and cold exterior melted to that of what it was in life: cheerful and gentle. He had been alone for so long, but it had only made him yearn for company, someone who would not care for his ghostly state. And here they were, even if they were ghosts girls.

Yuri laughed softly as he gazed into Kouri's eyes, emerald green into ruby red. "I'm glad you have such a high opinion of musicians Miss Kouri, I really am. But, I really do prefer just Yuri, though you may keep calling me 'Sir' if you want. " Yuri smiled warmly at the excited ghost girl floating in front of him.

"Oh, so you were a Vantha Miss Kouri?" Yuri had learned a little about the Vantha people when he was learning Vani from his adopted father Landar. But he vaguely remembered something about certain families who specialize in certain areas, Snowsong being one of them. Yuri attempted a little Vani, calling back long buried memories. "And not only that, a Snowsong singer as well?" So Kouri was a singer, just like Aya... "I hope that Vani was okay, I barely remembered that from the top of my head." Yuri once again hastily pushed the memories back; now was not the time.

Yuri floated down to the ground and lightly sat down in front of the sisters. His mood had considerably brightened up from when he was wandering about alone, but his smile visibly faltered slightly when Kouri asked about himself. She was a ghost, same with her sister Rena; did she not know there are some things that shouldn't be revealed so lightly? Yuri felt the rush of memories from that night again, clamping hard on it mentally. "I was a pianist and composer when I was still alive, and I had always lived in Syliras." Yuri waved with his hand back in the direction of the fortress city.

Yuri's gaze now looked distant and saddened, "Kouri, Rena, I was an orphan, never knew my real parents; but I was taken in and found a father and a sister to call my family. My sister, she was a singer also Miss Kouri. I used to accompany her singing with my piano, Aya had such a beautiful voice." Yuri sighed sadly, his right hand holding his pendant tightly again.

Yuri kept it at that; he had little desire to tell Kouri and Rena how he died, and why he still remained, as he felt he had said enough. Why, he even inadverdently let slip Aya's name. Then it struck him... How did these two girls die? What was their reason for staying? Remembering his own violent death, Yuri felt a tinge of sadness as he thought of how these lovely girls could have died.

[Bronze Woods] Morbid Festivities (Yuri)

Fubuki Kouri

Kouri's eyes figuratively shone with an even larger intensity as Yuri spoke in Vani. Her respect for this man grew with every second. Not only he's a gentleman and musician, he's also able to speak the language of Vantha as well! "Yes! My full name is actually Fubuki Kouri Snowsong, but Papa was bored with our rigid naming system; so he added an extra last name for our family. Hehehe~"

Kouri's father, Taka, was definitely an eccentric person. Common with musician and artists, he disliked common customs and wanted to pour his creation and creativity into almost everything; his family's last name being one of the most prominent example. Alas, his extremely carefree nature brought doom to his family; leaving his daughter in her current state.

Rena just stared in confusion and curiosity when her sister and Sir Yuri spoke in a foreign tone. It must be Kouri's native tongue by how happy she looked when speaking it. Rena decided to just observe their interactions further.

"I'm sorry to hear that..." Kouri felt the pain in Yuri's voice. She had a good childhood with two loving parents. She heard him spoke of a name. 'Aya', his adoptive sister it seemed. Kouri wanted to know more about her, but she decided it would be impolite.

"So... what are you going to do now, Sir Yuri?"

OOCI let Yuri take the lead for this thread. :D

"Well, there is no point dwelling on the past you know..." Yuri smiled weakly at Kouri. "But... I still miss both of them... I have been alone for so long..." Yuri choked up as he said this, clenching his fists and struggling to fight back his emotions. He shouldn't show this side of himself to Kouri and Rena, he can't. Why is he breaking down now, when Yuri had already gotten over his grief? Or has he?

Yuri stared unseeing into space for a few moments, a long past memory suddenly resurfacing... of when he was still alive, of the time he was performing a piece in the Herald's Arms, Aya singing along, his father looking on with a proud smile off to the side... Yuri snapped out of his reminiscing in time to hear Kouri speaking. A single tear had flown from his right eye while reminiscing, Yuri hastily brushed it away. "I'm sorry for being such a wet-sop Kouri. I shouldn't be like this." Yuri apologized, putting up a weak smile, "I really shouldn't be so emotional." Oh dear, here I am crying in front of young girls... well done indeed Yuri.

Straightening his suit, Yuri once again clamped down on his feelings. He was not going to let them ruin this friendly meeting amongst ghosts, especially such cute little girls as Kouri and Rena. "What to do now? Hmm... I am really not too sure myself Miss Kouri." Good, something else to focus my mind on. Yuri crossed his arms thinking, brow furrowed in thought, when he thought of something. Yuri remembered how Kouri so easily moved her weapons with her soulmist, a level far exceeding his own. "Miss Kouri, I could tell you are really good at manipulating your... soulmist. Perhaps... we could train soulmisting together? With Miss Rena as well of course." Yuri gave a gentle smile at the two.

Yuri had only an elementary grasp of manipulating his soulmist tendrils, and it was almost embarrassing to think someone as young-looking as Kouri was superior to himself. "You could teach me a thing or two about soulmisting, and I could help you out with... hmm... possession!" Yes, possession. The one ghostly skill Yuri had some confidence in. He only hoped that Kouri didn't exceed him in that as well. "That is, if you want to of course."

Before he continued, Yuri saw something rustle in the woods behind Kouri and Rena. "Hmm?" Yuri leaned forward, craning his head to see past the ghost girls. "Is someone there?" Yet Yuri remained seated, he was not especially the curious type.

OOCAnd here comes our brave but helpless possession practice man! You can describe him out Kouri, surprise me! :D
