513 AV, 1st Day of Summer

The end of Mirahil pass opened up before him, and his stomach growled with anticipation, which was never a good sign. At least for everyone else. He quickened his walk the rest of the way down the slope, sliding on some loose stone before catching his balance again. Even without his heightened sense of smell in his human body Khrassvallen could smell the sea salt thick in the air. The city lay sprawled out to the left and right, seeming calm and sleepy clouded in morning mist. For their sakes, hopefully he wouldn't get bored in Zeltiva. Things always got a little out of hand when he grew bored. But that was unlikely, since it was his first time here. A whole new playground and palate awaited.

2nd of Summer, 513
Drinking in the familiar salty air, Runo surveyed her old home from the musty deck. It hadn’t changed much, old buildings, the ports, foul outlines of sailors, all just visible from within the thin line of fog that embraced the sky and clung to the air. Misgivings filled her as she felt the little boat inch itself closer to the shore, her knuckles a bone white from clutching the splintery deck with a desperate force. In truth she feared the city, and the dark secrets she had abandoned in it. Though she had long outlived any tolerance of the appalling stench of vomit that haunted and drifted about the boat like a disease. The Queen was a disgusting boat in general, nothing more than nails and rotting wood. She had long lived past her prime; Reign often lay in wake, fearful that the boat may plunge into the sea at any moment. Her crew members were a shady lot as well, requesting only 70 gold mizas for Reign and Daniel's passage into the city.
Staring down into the dark waters Reign felt a sudden feeling of impending doom,"I have a feeling I'll be joining you soon Jair."
"Don't make me the villain."

1st of Summer, 512AV

The ship let her off and she breathed in the air of the new city, taking in the activity and the newness of it all. She hoped to find a place to stash her things after she did a little exploring. Maybe she would make a few new friends and find plenty of things to do, everything was possible.|

10th Summer, 513
Reaching the top of the Mirahil Pass, Xio halted his horse, stopping to take a good first look at his new home. The buildings of Zeltiva spread beneath him like a new-crafted mosaic, & beyond them the sea glimmered like cobalt glass. Instantly he forgot his growling stomach, his tired muscles, his aching shoulders. Kontos, his horse, suddenly reared, and man and beast were silhouetted against the setting sun for a split second before plunging towards the city below, skidding dangerously and whooping in elation all the way down.

Daniel had been on the boat for longer than he could remember. Not that his memory was very good. His sister seemed upset and he tried all he could to console her. It had even been her idea to come to this city in the first place but she only became more and more melancholy the closer she got. Perhaps it was the strange tasting air.

12th Day of Summer 513

Finally the city came into sight. The caravan reached the top of Mirahil pass and there it was: Zeltiva.
"My new home", thought Chembalo. To the Kelvic it almost seemed as if he had spent his whole life journeying from his birthplace Syliras to this city of knowledge and trade.
He took his surroundings in, admiring the mountains and the vast sea. Descending the path, he knew a new chapter of his life was about to start.

18th Day of Summer, 513 AV
The Docks of Zeltiva
Early morning

There he was, finally, at the merchant and academic city of Zeltiva. There was no words to describe how the Vantha felt as his feet met with the wooden planks of the docks. Had it not been so embarrassing for a grown man to fall on his knees, crying like a newborn child, he would have done so and kissed the woodwork of the piers. Maybe hugged it too. Gave it an offering? But instead, he simply gazed up to the sky and made a silent prayers to the gods, thanking them for a rather long and boring passage. A safe passage. How ironic that a Coolwater, born to tame the northern waters, couldn't stand more than a day or two of sailing? Oh well, that was a problem for another day. He made sure that his possessions were in order, checking his backpack a second time, before he took his spear and left the Mariner's Fortune behind. He gave a quick wave to her first mate, passed several cargo crates, dodged a few deckhands, avoided a murderous seagull bound to ruin everybody's day and finally stepped on the paved streets, a hunting spear in one hand, a backpack in the other.

I guess a new day begins!

The pass was rather impressive. Never had he seen mountains so tall in his short travels - they were even snow-capped.

Lifting his sore feet one by one, Ingvar carefully avoided stepping on the loose stones as he entered Zeltiva, promising to himself that he would treat them to a nice warm wash in the evening.

And to the University the morning after; I'd be delighted to see what courses I can take.

Summer the 32nd, 513 AV

Oh thank the Gods, civilization. Never going back out into those wilds, not ever. I have got to find a place to rest. I must be a stupid kind of ghost to get this tired. Will I have to pay for an inn or can I just go in there without them noticing? Will they kick me out? Can they kick me out? How do you kick a ghost? Do ghosts need Mizas? Petch I can't even hold Mizas. I bet this city's a mess. I bet the inn would be a mess. Gods I bet it's cold out here and I don't even know.

Ethel's thoughts were as chaotic and out of reach as her form. She'd given up trying to become solid enough to properly walk, and settled on only looking it while really hovering just above the ground. Her translucent body wavered with her Soulmist, barely visible in the glinting moonlight.

She was caught in between having so much to do and absolutely nothing to do. It still hadn't been very long since she'd died, and she still had to get used to it all. She wasn't even sure where she'd arrived or what she was going to do here, only knowing that she had to find somewhere to rest from spending weeks out in the wild. Finally reaching the proper entrance to the city she stopped.

Oh. Zeltiva. She let out a low moan. Dirty sailors. Hoooooraaaay.

The signs at the entrance were a little more than deterring, but at this point there was no turning back. With a scowl and a roll of her eyes, Ethel entered the city.

[Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Adria Waywind on July 3rd, 2013, 2:59 pm

12th day of Summer 513 AV

Adria could not feel much for the time being, her mind seemed numb and slowed down as she tried to figure out where she was. Her eyelids felt like two heavy and stiff planks of wood that would not budge. Her head was throbbing with a pounding sound echoing throughout her still ears. Her stomach growled yearningly once again and her dry mouth coughed in desperation for clean water.
She felt as though she was dying, or very close to it, but she wasn't ready to give up. Adria urged her body to feel around her location. Her fingers grazed the floor of a wooden surface. She then concentrated as best as she could to hear the sound of sea gulls as they flew above her body, trying to determine what to make of her. "I'm on land!" She deduced in her thoughts. She knew that while her strength was small, she needed to find herself some water.
She tried to open her eyes, encouraging them with hopes of survival. With some effort, the first one lifted itself open, peeking out at a brilliant morning sunrise. Pretty, soon the other one was open and she was taking in her sights. She was on a dock in a port that looked familiar, but them again, she had been to so many in her childhood that she could hardly keep track of them. Her eyes came across a fisherman's boat that was filled with fresh raw fish. She licked her lips and tried to calculate how little energy she could exert to find herself eating a fish or two. She dragged herself across the floor, trying not to get up too fast. Next thing she knew, she was ripping off the head off of the small fish and devouring it, coughing up the bones along the way. She was so hungry that the relief of eating something so good overcame her need to be sanitary. After one fish, she found her body drag herself over to a mop bucket that stood not too far off she tried to grab it, but only fell over causing the bucket to tip as well she opened her mouth as the water sprayed her face, in hopes to gain relief from her dehydration.
Exhausted and barely satisfied, Adria fell onto her back on the ship and fell back asleep. Only wondering where she would wake up once again.
