Kouri's Tree, Bronze Woods, 22nd of Bell, 17th of Spring 513 A.V

Leth's light was again shining elegantly upon the Bronze Woods, gracing the forest with his nightly embrace. In a particular clearing, the figure of a translucent little girl could be seen standing in it. Her very long ethereal white hair gleaming in the moonlight and slowly swayed, blown by the night breeze.

The phantom little girl named Kouri gazed at the stars, her crimson eyes filled with melancholy. The quiet night was the perfect time for a brooding session, Kouri had just tucked Rena, her adoptive ghostly little sister, to sleep at the Traveler's Row just a bell ago. Gazing at her contented sleeping face, Kouri decided it was the right time to visit the clearing she also home.

"Mama... Papa..." Kouri spoke to herself, but she directed it to her long-dead parents. Whether they could hear her or not, she didn't care. She wanted to express her feelings. "Your daughter doing good, you know? Ehehehe~ I met wonderful people, vanquished evil, and even got a little sister for us..." She pulled one of hair ribbons off and played with it.

"I wish you can meet Rena, she's very lovely and cute~ Ehehe... I wish... you can hear me, but you can't right? But that's fine... I got Rena now, I will never be alone again..." Kouri truly meant it. Ever since her master, Cyrus, seemed to disappear without any trace; Kouri had been lonely and lost, but the support that was given to her by her friends and comrades kept her going. But a part of her heart still longed for a companion, a companion that could stay by her side always.

Until she found Rena, the even younger girl quickly became Kouri's morality chain and crutch. With her presence, she would never be afraid of scorn or hostility the general populace gave her because she wouldn't care; Rena loved her with all her being and that was more than enough.

"You know, Mama, Papa, I never forget to practice singing~ Ehehe~ Do you want to hear my voice now? Yes? Okay then~" Deciding to grace the night and present a gift to her parents with her voice. Kouri cleared her throat and opened her lips. Her eerie beautiful haunting voice echoed in the clearing and surrounding area.

"The mouth of the Just shall meditate wisdom, And His tongue shall declare judgment..."

[Bronze Woods] Howling Symphony (Nakuli)

The moonlit night was a toll for all creatures of thought, that was Nakuli's belief. It was becoming a routine to take time for a night hike, and let her muse reach out to the whispering stars. It wasn't so quiet, like she would have expected. The crickets where chirping exciting stories to the elegant fireflies who illuminated Kuli's way around the woodlands.

Her auburn dreadlocks where twisted in two long braids that draped off her right shoulder and down her athletic shape, sporting her gypsy pants with bare feet and a beige blouse with leather collar ties. Kuli's cloak covered her with some warmth, long and dragging slightly behind her, and hood hung over her head. Neyka bear antlers poked through her dreads with six points, creatively laced with ivy vines. A headdress of her own spiritual meaning, the ivory carrying great strength and mindset to all her endeavors.

But the piece that hung on a chain next to her heart, held great enlightenment with Nakuli. Her piccolo made of bone, beloved tunes made from the parents she never discovered. It was an abandonment to save her life, and Kuli couldn't thank them any other way but by whistling her experiences within the instrument and create a harmony of feelings.

Tonight was another night of curiosity, the clever little coyote can never help herself. But tonight she was in all awe for the woods and it's inhabitants. There was no disturbance to behold, just pure serenity. She had traveled through this area before, but it seemed different this time. Moonlight reached a certain bunch of trees, one larger than the others and taking root in the near edge of the lightened area. It was as though her eyes where playing tricks on her, to see a person sitting within it's branches and disappear with a blink. Then she would focus her eyes again and find the silhouette and it would transcend from her sight once more. And along came a cool eerie tune ahead and Nakuli could only think better about the figure residing in the oak tree.

her lips pressed to the mouthpiece of her piccolo, catching pace of the tune echoing between the leaves and played her own enlightening notes, low pitch and flowing coolly with the air as she crept through the foliage, making her way towards the ghostly figure. But she cut herself short once she was in good range to catch sight of the translucent girl. Her hair was long, fine silver and she was clothed in a petite dress with lace and ribbon ties. She looked that of a child's porcelain doll. But her eyes where alert yet she looked confused to Nakuli's approach. Waiting, waiting for another tune to break through, or for Kuli to show her presence. Another eerie tune cleared out from the girl, and Nakuli's lips perked up to a crooked fanged smile and stepped out from the shade of trees, lowering her hood with copper eyes gleaming up through the branches of the large oak. "A fine voice you have, my dear. Why are you so lonely?" Kuli approached with slight concern, such a graceful looking girl to be haunting a hidden patch of trees. "The vibes you give off are bewildering yet satisfied. It's a comfort I can surely stick around for."

Kouri finished her song and slowly opened her eyes, she happily gazed at the approaching woman. The woman with lovely amber hair, unique copper eyes with golden tint on them, and the lovely large pupils of hers. Those eyes could rival even the famous Vantha eyes.

"Hmmm? I look lonely, am I? Ehehehe~" Kouri dropped from her tree branch and ever so slowly floated down, making an elegant landing motion as she stopped just a few inches from touching the ground. In the back of her mind, Kouri was expecting the woman to flinch or backed away in fear at her ghostly spectacle; but to her relief, she didn't do so.

"The vibes you give off are bewildering yet satisfied. It's a comfort I can surely stick around for."

Those words struck her hard, in a very good way. To know that even with her eerily haunting voice, she could give comfort to the living, filled her with the utmost pleasure. She felt her role as a singer was still appreciated. "Ehehehe~ T-thank you very much, Madame!" Kouri bowed in respect, thanking the woman for her appreciation "I'm glad I can provide you with comfort with my voice".

Kouri couldn't help but notice the curious clothing of the red-haired woman, especially the ornamental horns neatly resting on her head. She found it cute. "Ehehe~ I like your hair decorations, Madame~ I have one too, see?" Kouri gestured to her floral headband, an heirloom given to her by her parents on her eleventh birthday. She then approached closer to the woman, slightly tilting her head to look her in the eye.

"My name is Fubuki Kouri, Madame. It's an honor to meet you" Kouri lifted the hem of her dress and bowed slightly, curtsying to the woman. She then lifted her head and beamed her with a polite happy smile "May I know your name, Madame?"

The ghostly girl dropped from her branches with a giggle, floating beside Nakuli. Her transparency was thrilling, intense with the cold airy feel running off her.

But she curtsied to Nakuli's remark, and Kuli breathed out a small laugh of her own. She wondered how old this girl really was. "You are so very welcome," Her eyes smiled with the tone of her remark.

Then the ghost pointed out Nakuli's antlers, she immediately tried to look up at them, and felt silly. Her lips trickled into a small smile, letting her fingertips work their way up to the antlers and jerked on them lightly. It was tucked nicely under Kuli's locks, and the ivy weaved through the amber dreads. She was determined they wouldn't fall off, no matter what she did or where she went. "What a beautiful hairpiece you have," Kuli nodded with a wicked smile as the ghost leaned over, showing off her own headband. It was porcelain with a certain flower shape, finished in a nice white paint. It suited the girl very well by her appearance and posture.

Fabuki Kouri was her name, and she said it was an honor with another curtsy. Nakuli had no clue how to respect her curtsies, it was a little off from her own manners. But all the same, Nakuli crouched down to her knees, placing her palms to her thighs and looked up to the girl with a crooked grin, eyes squinting with a matching smile. "Miss Fabuki Kouri, the pleasure is mine. May I call you Kouri doll?" Yes, doll. The porcelain doll that she couldn't envision any other way. She was cute as a button, but she was more than meets the eye. "My name is Nakuli Audeylae. I am a piper of sorts," The kelvic paused, reaching around her neck to undo the chain, and pulled her piccolo out from tucked under her shirt. "I take these night walks ever so often, looking for a little enlightenment for my music."

"Ehehehe~ Thank you, Madame~" Kouri played with the ribbons on her hairband when the woman returned her compliment, her headband was one of the symbols left that connected her to her parents and Vantha heritage. Hearing other people praising it was enough to bring her joy.

"Kouri doll?" Kouri tilted her head in intrigue. Some people just love to twist her name into something interesting, funny, or cute, some also invented nick-names for her. Like 'Fubu', 'White Angel', or 'Long-haired Snow-skinned shorty'... though the last one was rather offending. It's not me who's short... other people are just too tall! Being a Vantha, Kouri's height was mostly shorter than other sub-race of humans.

And now, the amber-haired woman wanted to call her 'Kouri doll'. Do I really look like a doll? Kouri inspected her own body and clothing, then she realized something. Kouri had quite a number of dolls in her home back in Avanthal and her doll's clothing was the same model as her own, combined with her unnaturally - for a human - snow-white complexion; Kouri did look like a translucent porcelain doll... with bloodstains.

"Uhm... ehehe~ Sure, Madame..."

"My name is Nakuli Audeylae. I am a piper of sorts,"

"...Nakuli, ehehe~ You can call me that" She kept the polite smile on her face, but it quickly switched into an excited one once she took notice of Nakuli's peculiar piccolo, it seemed to be made of bone. Power of Bones? Kouri suddenly remembered her experience with the Myrian warrior, Razkar. He mentioned to her about the Power of Bones when he was explaining the enchantment of his hand ax., but it looked like hers was just an ordinary musical instrument made of bones.

"Ahaha~ Madame Nakuli, then we can make music together! I'm a singer and you're a musician! We're a perfect match! Do you want to, Madame?" Kouri politely offered to the woman. "First, can you teach me a song? Ehehe~"

OOCIf Nakuli accepted her offer, feel free to control Kouri practicing the notes of your song with her voice. :)
