While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

"Ah, yes. Doctor. Physician. I think they're calling me a medic. All the same basic thing." Those were some of the more pleasant things he'd been called. Monster. Evil. Horrible. Emotionless. Mean. Those were all on the list, too, but none needed brought up. "It's not horribly difficult, but I guess that's just my upbringing talking." He closed his eyes again, as a dizzy spell took him. He'd need a good rest after this one. "Ahh...." He moaned quietly, trying to gather himself. Thankfully, he'd been able to get the initial instructions out.

He stayed on the ground, remaining quiet as Kyra carried out his orders. It was an interesting dynamic the two had together. He'd first met her at the Soothing Waters bathhouse when he was covering for an ill coworker. He'd made sure that he claimed her as his client, because, well, she was attractive. Very attractive. From there they'd run into each other a few times, and nearly each time, if not every time, there was some sort of violence, some sort of bloodshed. More of note, at least to the squire, was the fact that he'd barely flirted with the woman or even made an attempt to bed her. She was...interesting, so he never really had the focus to do so. There was always something else which was more pressing, whether it was an angry, hairy man, a four armed woman, or a job to be completed.

Orion opened his mouth to speak but quickly lost himself in his caretaker's eyes as she beat him to the punch. Soothing, calming words flowed forth from Kyra's lips, but even so, they struck him as odd. Orion had never heard her speak in that way. In fact, she'd rarely said that much in one go since he'd met her. Also, she was straddling him. Everything was taking his mind off of the pain, and all his attention was on the blond gently cleaning his face. None of the words she spoke were anything that he didn't already want to do, and he knew she was trying. Still, she sounded kinda weird...

"Yeah, the lemongrass oil. It'll stop any infection from blinding or killing me. Sounds good, eh?" He motioned to the container haphazardly, taking deep breaths as the cool cloth touched his face again. "Apply it to the open wound, see if you can keep it out of my eye if at all possible, and then take some bandages out and cover me up. Pretty straightforward, right?" The water, it was nothing. Maybe it was her soothing words, or maybe he was just that tough. It was a simple enough exchange that he was happy to have over. Water was natural to the body, so it only stung.

But this oil? It was gonna hurt like a bitch.

Kyra listened to Orion's instructions and tried to form them into a list in her mind, where she could organize the items she was to work with, then check them off after she had used them. It was hard for her to tell most of the time, if her hypnotic trance had worked or not. In the past there had been times when it hadn't worked at all, and the person whom she had attempted it on actually acted out against her. Others times it seemed to have worked rather well, and then there were times like the present, when the person's actions or lack of weren't so obvious.

"I'm going to apply the lemongrass now."

She hoped that she had helped calm him enough, it wouldn't look good for the Knight to return and find Kyra atop the squire while he howled in pain. She twisted the cloth rag in her hands to squeeze out the remaining water, then poured a small amount of the lemongrass on it. Kyra had attempted not to use a lot, the cuts weren't very large after all. However the end result was half the cloth soaked in oil. She glanced down at him, but seeing that his eyes were closed, she decided not to tell him.

"This won't be too bad I hope."

Kyra folded the cloth twice over, allowing the oils to soak through the rest of the cloth instead of letting it drip onto the squire. With the cuts washed, and the blood gone, she could see them more clearly now. If she had judged it correctly, she would only need to use a small piece of the cloth. Once she was ready, she lightly pressed the cloth against his forehead and held it there. Orion hadn't said exactly how to apply it, and so she just held it to his head for a few ticks before pulling it away.

"Think that worked..."

She looked at his cuts again, making sure that the bleeding had stopped, before patting the cloth against his head a few more times just to be sure it was cleaned or uninfected. It was now time for the bandages, and this was something that she was a bit more familiar with. Just at the peak of the last season, she had bandaged the leg of a man who had been stabbed...by her. With Orion however, she wanted to make sure that she did it right. Kyra looked over the bandage then turned back to her patient where she gently wrapped it around his head.

She was sure to wrap it tightly, though after she was done, she noticed that she had used most of the bandage wrap and it appeared that he had lost an eye. "There, all better. How do you feel?"

(Kabrin Road) Dark Skies (Kyra)

Orion remained silent as the blonde woman continued to work. He’d unsurprisingly been injured more this season than in the rest of his time combined. He was used to slaps, in fact, he could almost boast to be immune to them. It had been some time since he’d received blows to the face with any frequency, so this Zith’s claw was particularly annoying. Not only did it hurt like petch, Orion doubted these were exactly the cleanest of creatures. Hence the lemongrass oil. Orion would keep his eyes closed, though, because he knew the pain was coming. There was nothing pleasurable about having a wound cleaned and disinfected. The burning meant it was working, after all.

“Alright, I’m ready.” He wasn’t. Not at all. When he was hurt in Syliras he could just wander over to the Soothing Waters to get treated. A beautiful woman, marked by Rak’keli, could touch him and close his cuts, soothe his pains, and if he played his cards right, treat him to a little fun. Then he could run over and get a masseuse, a beautiful woman, and have her work the tightness out stress muscles, rubbing oils all over not at all rippling muscles to heal and strengthen him, and again, if he went about it right, a little extra service could be arranged. It was a good life, really. Things were only slightly different here. Rarely was their pain involved in his healing in the walled city, but out here…at least he still had the beautiful woman. Extra activity, well, that hadn’t been approached.

The burning came suddenly as she first touched cloth to skin. The gashes on his face were all the more apparent as the lemongrass oil began to do its thing. Cleansing. Burning. Cleansing. Burning. Those words ran over and over again in his head, the only things he could focus on. Even the beautiful Kyra faded from his mind as he gritted his teeth and tried not to react too much to the pain it inflicted. His face contorted as she washed the injury with a rag too soaked with oil. Every time that he thought it was over, that the aching was done, she would return the cloth to work at it once again. Right when he was about to yell and tell her to stop, she did just that, deciding that enough had been done to treat the wound.

Breathing heavily, he squeezed his eyelids tightly shut and offered no resistance as she began using the bandages to cover his injury. It didn’t take long before he knew she was using way too much, but he wasn’t about to correct someone who was working so hard to treat him. He could get more bandages. He couldn’t get a new face. By the time she was done, only a small portion of his face was visible, and his vision was obscured.

“Ah, I’m better than I was. Thank you, Kyra. I appreciate it, though…I do wonder…what exactly are you doing out here? You’re not leaving me again, are you?” He managed a smile which was framed in the white bandage. “Even after all our fun at the gathering? You break my heart.”

Kyra's eyes widen from the question that he asked and for a tick, it left her speechless. The question that he asked had come suddenly and she wasn't sure of exactly how to answer it. Being deceitful was never something she had been good at, and for those who truly knew her, it was rather easy to tell when she was lying. She glanced away from the squire, her inner thoughts searching for a tale, but in finding none, she ended up telling the truth.

"Maybe not forever....I suppose. I've gotten so used to wandering...I figured that I would try it once more." Kyra returned her gaze to him then, her features were soft and yet serious, and possibly a bit sad. "This city is so different here, and the more that I stay, the more that I realize that I do not belong."

The young kelvic smiled weakly, reaching up to try and adjust the bandages on his face so that he could see better, or at all out the hidden eye. "I did a horrible job didn't I? It doesn't look like what doctors do at all." She glanced away from him and cast her gaze onto the dead bodies that lay in the grass. For some it may seem odd to see such things, but for Kyra it had become normal. Death was everywhere and happened to everyone at some point and time.

It was a chaotic world that they lived in and survival was the only right. "Do you know what they are...why they were here?" Her thoughts wandered to the Knight that he had arrived with, the one that if she wasn't mistaken had gone off to look for more naked, beast men. "That woman..who is she? Should we go and find her?"

She was caught off by his question, and it was the best way to go about it. Put them on the spot. Make them give an answer they don’t have time to fabricate. Though, in this case, he wasn’t trying to get a patient to admit to injuring themselves. He was genuinely interested in what would have the mysterious and beautiful Kyra out in the woods alone. Being out in the Bronze Woods was one thing. All the way out here, though? There were dangers on top of dangers, and the further away one got from Syliras, the more difficult it was for the knights to offer their protection. If Orion had encountered those Zith alone, he’d be dead. If Orion and Dinah hadn’t been there to fight off the Zith, would Kyra be dead, too? It wasn’t something he wanted to think on, that was plain enough.

“Well, maybe things will quiet down for both of us, if that’s the case. Syliras will mourn your departure. I can’t say I’m too enthused about a pretty lady with these great medical skills leaving, either.” He forced a half smile, and it didn’t look like it was something which she wanted to talk about too terribly bad. “Syliras can be a tough place to adjust to, I imagine. I’ve really only been to Sunberth, but it’s way different. I hope you keep safe out here. Though the way you handle a blade, I’m probably worry about nothing, huh?”

“No, you did fine, I promise. I feel a million times better already,” he lied. It was a mess, but it would get the job done in the end. That is all that really mattered. “Doctors have training and experience to get this right. By the way you went about it, it seems like you had somewhat of an idea of what you should have done. What you can do is toss a wrap around the patient’s jaw to help keep it more secure. Someone with a head injury should be careful anyways, so it helps to immobilize it as much as possible. The bandages need to be firm.” He paused for a moment, looking up at Kyra and realizing he kind of went off on a rant. “And I’m rambling,” he chuckled. “Please forgive me…it’s just..” He trailed off and let the conversation die off for a moment until she addressed him regarding the Zith.

“Zith.” Horrible creatures. And this was the first time he’d encountered a full blooded Zith. “That’s what Dinah called them. Never seen one until today. All I know is that they aren’t good news, but that’s pretty obvious, huh?” And speaking of Dinah, she’d been out for some time. He wasn’t horribly concerned, though. She was a high ranking knight. She should be fine on her own, hunting Zith. Plus, he wasn’t really ready to move yet. His vision was still kind of spinning. “Dinah will be fine on her own. She’s a very powerful woman. Truth be told, I’m just a burden on her. She claimed to see some sort of potential in me, but I think she’s crazy.” He was considerably stronger than what he once was, but he was still getting beat left and right. “She’ll be back, I’m sure.”

(Kabrin Road) Dark Skies (Kyra)

"I hope that is true." Kyra replied. The kelvic had become so tired as of late, and it seemed as if she was always on the run, or in some kind of situation that required a lot of physical movement. During this time, she was often reminded of the life that she had lost. Kyra had plenty of exercise then as well, but there was also a great deal of time where things were quiet and peaceful. She had been happy then, and all she needed was the love of her mother and a bit of adventure on the side. But all that had been taken away and she was left with the dark mischievousness cravings and lust for chaos.

But even that seemed to run it's course and she was now less inclined for that sort of fun and was starting to miss her old life again. It was a feeling that came and went as much as the changing of the tides. Kyra was moody, but this went on beyond her kelvic side, it was something much deeper. For the time now at least, she didn't want any danger or chaos, the girl just wanted to rest and perhaps find herself in a world that was always changing.

"It's hard to say really, and I am not sure where I would go. Perhaps I will return..or stay. Now I can not decide." She looked to Orion and found those blue eyes that had always been so carrying, at least she thought so. "Would it really mean that much to you if I stayed?" she asked curiously. The squire mentioned Sunberth, the city that she had only been to for a short time, but then that was all one needed to get the raw feeling of the place. "I have been to Sunberth. I do not wish to return..unless I plan to set it on fire." the look in her eyes changed then, memories of her past resurfacing with the emotions and pain that the city has caused.

Kyra's mind had wandered off after she spoke, such memories were hard to push away when they held such strong and unhappy emotions within them. So she missed his speech about proper medical training but she was back with the conversation for the Zith explanation. "There is so much in this world, things I know nothing about...does that ever bother you Orion, not knowing?" She had to wonder because she was yet to see him react negatively to anything, even when facing four armed warriors or winged men, the squire kept a smile and wit. Kyra looked away from him again and towards the direction that she had watched the Knight disappear. He didn't seem worried about her and if he wasn't then she surely had no reason to be.

"Alright then, so..should we do something else then?"

Way to go and get yourselves into trouble again! Good thread guys. It's funny you mention burning Sunberth down seeing as that basically what was happening there all of Spring. Anyway, if you have questions or concerns, shoot me a PM!
Currently working at new job so I am still trying to balance it out with Miza. I apologize for any delays.
