Known as the Celestial Seat, Nyka is a religious city in Northern Sylira. Ruled by four demigods and traversed by a large crevice, the monk-city is both mystical and dangerous. [Lore]
One of the largest houses of worship in Nyka, the Stalls of the Prophets are an ornate building of glass and marble nestled two blocks away from the Safe Haven Hostel, gleaming and magestic, a testament to Nykan craftsmanship. Made around the same time as the Hostel, mostly with pilgrims and visitors in mind (natives do most of their worship in their homes) it is perhaps one of the more "Nykan" locations in the city.
There are no pews, formal clergy, or anything much resembling an orderly temple. There is instead a single large stone room crowded with people, all hustling past one another to view one of several speakers. These speakers take the role of more traditional clergy, holding sermons, lectures, or just plain frothy ramblings about their Gods, faith, or spirituality in general. Any God is open to be spoken of, with the sole exception of Myri, for obvious reasons.
The only things one needs to be a speaker are a mouth and a platform. These can be proper ones, soapboxes, cushy mattresses, a pile of Akalaks, anything that elevates one above eye level really. Now marked as a speaker, the only thing left to do is speak. If the speaker is good, they may get a regular audience, and perhaps a few supporters with soapboxes of their own. If the speaker is poor, they will simply be ignored.
Monk presence is minimal, and the men in robes only get involved in cases of blasphemy towards the Celestials, or if fighting gets out of hand. In all, the atmosphere is more of a marketplace than a traditional temple. But a popular marketplace nonetheless.
