14th of Summer 513 AV, Somewhere...

"What in the gods's names is this?!" Yuri gazed with utter confusion on the disturbingly weird landscape he had ended up in. The ghost had not dreamed ever since he had died, since ghosts don't normally sleep, so the setting shocked him. This has to be a dream... but how- oh right, Kouri... Yuri remembered entering a state of inactivity after spending most of his soulmist teaching and demonstrating to the young ghost his possession skills and also, ironically, learning from her about soulmist projection. But this was far from the main stream of thoughts as Yuri looked around his unusual surroundings.

The place he had ended up in was a hybrid of bewilderingly different scenes: The scenery of the Bronze Forests, the foliage now a blood red, underneath the stone ceiling of Syliras's fourth tier, yet it was not stone but great shimmering gemstones of a myriad of colors instead, rivaling that of the skyglass of Lhavit. The forest floor itself was strange, as random fountains of water burst from the ground here and there, collecting into pools of water suspended midair, some even having brilliantly colored fish swimming around, much to Yuri's ever increasing wonder. All in all... this dream was extremely messed up.

"Why do dreams have to be so weird?" Yuri sighed as he watched a purple koi fish swimming in one of the gravity defying pools- wait, purple? Shaking his head, Yuri floated off, on the look for something that had the slightest semblance of being normal. Gliding hastily, Yuri found little signs of any other inhabitants in the dream, sentient or feral. He was alone, or was he? Yuri had little time to consider as his eye caught something shockingly normal in this dream.

In the middle of a clearing in the crimson forest, surrounded by jets of water and their subsequent reservoirs of water, was a piano. Just sitting there, stool and all, impeccably clean and in good condition, the instrument Yuri loved and adored most in his life. "No way..." Yuri's eyes widened in delight; a glossy black piano, just beckoning for him to play! Yuri rushed to the piano eagerly, taking an elegant seat, sweeping the tails of his tailcoat behind himself. But then he hesitated: what if he couldn't touch the keys? He was a ghost afterall, but this was a dream! Surely just once it would...

Yuri delicately and slowly moved his hand toward the keys. Please don't phase through, please don't phase through! Shutting his eyes tightly, Yuri placed his hands on the piano. He felt his hands stop, feeling the cool touch of ivory keys on his fingers. An elated smile lit upon Yuri's face as tears of joy flowed freely; he could touch the piano, and thus, he could do what he yearned for so desperately: play.

Yuri brought his hands down forcefully on the keys, a strong powerful chord ringing. The ghost listened completely engrossed as the notes ringed out for several seconds, then the fingers began expertly moving along the piano, fast and delicate notes playing out in succession. Yuri was completely enveloped in the music as it played out; this may be a dream and a weird one at first, but it had brought one good that Yuri could enjoy even for just a little while, as beautiful and haunting melodies and harmonies rang out and echoed through the dreamy forest.

An Unusual Composition

4th Day of Summer, 513 AV, Night

The night before Una had slept on land for the first time. As she slipped into oblivion this time she sank into a sea of familiar dark and hugged it tenderly. The ocean lulled her, a day apart leaving her clutching for the familiar. Una hated change, despised it, the longer everything remained unchanged....the better. As if by thinking it she could demand the world to obey her she screamed the words inside her head, eyes squeezed shut. "STOP! STOP! STOP!" Everyday that passed Cy seemed less real. Before they had realms the other could never venture, the sky and the sea. At the surface of the ocean, the heaven of her domain and the ground of his, they could meet. Now though, in the land of the dead, there was no surface of the ocean. Emotional exhaustion made her bones heavy and she sank into her silty bed.

At first there was darkness, then shimmering lights. Like the bellies of the mirror eels they echoed the surface without being it. Swimming through the darkness toward them she gasped in the air searching for water. Opening her eyes she realized she was immersed in it. The water was frozen around her, moving so slowly she could turn have swum from Wind Reach to Avanthal before a drop hit the glistening grass. The Koi and Manta Rays moved through the jelly so slowly Una watched the slow uncurling and beating of the rays wings. At peace, the world around her following her demand Una stood still in the water, hovering.

Without warning the water moved spilling her out onto the grass with such violence she screamed. Awake she was in total control of her emotions. Asleep, though she did not know that this is what she was, she had nothing to put between herself and her subconscious. Clutching at the grass she yanked it up in handfuls digging into the wet soil until, her fingers encrusted with dirt she lay curled in a ball at the bottom of a hole, water seeping in around her, half filling her mouth and eyes. An eternity past, for what is time in a dream, before she had the strength to rise and crawl from her own grave.

Slipping into the stream that suddenly seemed to be paving its way through the landscape it carried her flat body through the forest, making lakes and rivers and underground springs as it went. Spilling her out of its arms eventually she laid on the grass staring up at the trees whose trunks never ended. Suddenly a dome slid over her and she felt another presence press at her consciousness. The dome was a cathedral of glittering jewels. Rising from her revery she stumbled unthinking through the space before her.

A note pinched her and she yelped in response glaring at the note. It hovered around her like a hummingbird before zipping away. Suddenly a stream of them flung themselves toward her, nipping and pinching until she fell to her knees kicking and beating them with her fists. With every sting she felt relief and glee in that cell of her body, the emotion within the womb of thought the notes were born from. Fighting the feeling she grabbed at the notes curling her fingers around them and strangling them. The music faltered around her, the notes off key and broken. She was destroying the song, and for the first time in her life she enjoyed the destruction she was causing. Glaring up at them she fought back laughing aloud as she banged two together watching them fall dazed to the grass.

An Unusual Composition

Postby Yuri Forsin on June 12th, 2013, 9:22 pm

Anguish, loneliness, pain, anger... it all flowed freely from the depths of Yuri's heart into the piano as the ghost eloquently played his morbid tune. Yuri was lost in the swirling waters of the music flowing from the piano, slowly entering a state of catharsis as he felt the notes brush past his ears. Eyes closed to what was happening inside the dreamscape, Yuri hardly noticed the strange phenomenon of notes taking physical form and fluttering away like small songbirds.

Yuri was putting his very own soul into this song, having been starved of this wondrous music for so long. Nothing could possibly disturb him now... but just as he thought that, out of the mosaic of elegant notes rang out the crash of a dissonant note. Shocked out of his catharsis but still playing, Yuri finally opened his eyes to his dream. He saw the black forms of notes flying away from the strings of his piano, chirping sweet notes as they flew to some place away from Yuri. Strange...

Yuri continued playing, but the notes, though sounding beautiful and powerful at first, began ending in disruptive crashes of ugly noise. What is going on... could it be? Someone or something was destroying my song? Considering this was a dream, it was highly possible. "How dare they destroy my music..." Yuri seethed in anger, the audacity of someone to mangle his beautiful composition! Something snapped inside of the normally calm and gentle exterior of Yuri, as a malevolent grin lit his face.

A great fury rising inside Yuri, his song hardly slowed down. In fact, the keystrokes only became stronger and more harsh sounding, coming down even faster than before. "I'll show you what happens to those who disturb me!" Yuri's hands were almost a blur upon the piano as his anger-filled playing roared out, as a swarm of notes flew out like savage birds of prey, screeching as they sped towards the source of the destruction of music. Yuri found himself laughing hysterically as he watched his lovely composition take flight, gleefully anticipating the soon coming pain for the destroyer of music.

An Unusual Composition

Larger and more vicious notes began to swarm from the trees, like bats they beat their wings bent on destroying her. Screaming and batting at them Una rose and ran, she couldn't fight these. Darting through the trees she moved clumsily in the dream tripping and stumbling on barely uneven ground.

Thrown from the trees she stopped and stared at the man, his fingers darting over the piano to the same rhythm at which they darted over her skin drawing blood. Making the connection Una lunged at the gorgeous man shoving him off the keys. Immediately the notes fell useless to the ground.

Staring down at the man Una glared, "What do you think you're doing?!" she admonished. Her dream made him hazy and all she could tell was that she had his form pinned beneath her. Unas waking self was peaceful and reserved, but in her dreams her face transformed into a mask of fury and pain.

Moving off of him she stood between him and the piano. The forest spun around them sending Una onto her ass with centrifugal force. High vaulted ceilings rose above them and the floor was marbled. Staring about her the tension dragged from the scene as easily as the setting.

Gazing at the man on the floor she extended a hand to help him up, "I'm sorry...your music is beautiful...even if its a little mean..." She smiled down at him her white skin glowing with the rest of the room her pink eyes meeting his firmly.

An Unusual Composition

Postby Yuri Forsin on June 25th, 2013, 4:45 am

OOCBig mistake on my part; I meant the date to be 14th not 4th. Sorry!

Music flowed freely from the piano in a ravaging torrent. Hawk-like notes continued hurtling out of the piano, all focused on the spot of disruption. Yuri grinned in gladness as he found that there were no longer any additional dissonant notes from the piano. It seems his angry playing had defeated the music destroyer... or so Yuri thought. Now he could play in peace, but his music continued to be as violent as it was before.

Yuri was completely absorbed inside the composition he was playing out on his piano, that he didn't notice the approach... of the destroyer of music. It was a complete shock when he was suddenly pushed off by this person or thing from his seat, as he had grown so use to being able to simply let the corporeal pass through. But this was a dream, and anything can happen here Yuri reminded himself as he lay on the ground, pinned under the blurry form of... someone.

"Me?! I should ask what you're doing knocking me so impolitely off the piano! And.. and could you please get off me?" Yuri retorted from under this person under whom he was pinned to the ground and glared back. There was little time to say another word to this mysterious person once they got up as the scenery spun rapidly around like a top, the figure toppling to the ground while Yuri remained lying down. The leafy and earthy forest floor had changed to cold marble, as the ghost gazed up at high vaulted ceilings of this new setting.

With the change of setting, Yuri could somehow now see clearly the form of his attacker and music destroyer, though it was completely unexpected, as Yuri could hardly believe his eyes. Extending her hand to the ghost was what seemed to be a woman... with smooth almost rubbery white skin, pink eyes, and what seemed to be a headdress made of spiraling shells, clearly not human. What the... this is getting weird again...

Yuri cautiously took this strange woman's extended hand, who he found he could touch despite having not thought of materializing in-dream, and stood back up. He gave a curious and perplexed look at the woman, but soon broke into gentle smile. Ah, so my music was... attacking her? Once again, strange... "Why... thank you. I guess, I should apologize for that little... er... angry playing there." Yuri really didn't know what to say to this... fishwoman by the looks of it. How would he have known he was hurting someone with his playing?

With that touch Una felt herself drifting away from the dream. Eyes widening as she strained to hear his last words she watched his face, frozen in confusion as she arose awake drifting on the lulling waves of the ocean.

OOCIn deference to your busy schedule I will end this now :3 let me know if you would like to continue our previous idea when you have time.
