[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Alenias on June 28th, 2013, 5:48 pm

Season of Summer, Day 12, 513 AV

The old, dirty, and torn cloak Alenias was wearing felt and smelled strange; the stiff fabric rubbed uncomfortably against skin that had grown use to being covered in little more than feathers and dirt. The crowds made her uncomfortable; each glance her way bringing the anxious fear of capture. Even the once familiar streets and alleys of Nitrozian plaza were no comfort; Many things were not how she remembered them being when she was last here. All together this visit to the market area of Ravok was very unpleasant, but Alenias pushed on because it was better than the alternative.

She needed to find someone new to take care of her. Someone strong like Aello, or smart like Treanas. She knew that there were bad people here in Nitrozian Plaza, like the merchants that chased her for taking things, but it was the place she had been the most familiar with. So she moved through the crowds, her dark eyes jumping back and forth between the various people, things, and buildings.

After a little time wandering a familiar and very pleasing scent overcame the bad smell of her cloak and filled her nose. The smell made Alenias' mouth moisten with desire, and even managed to push away the gnawing emptiness inside of her. The wonderful, amazing, delicious smell of bread.

Remembering the most delicious bread she had ever had was somewhere nearby Alenias turned and started skulking through the crowd with a new purpose. She would find the sweet bread again, and after she had filled her stomach she would get back to finding someone to get rid of the emptiness inside of her.

In the crowded Nitrozian plaza, off in a corner as to not be too bothered by those who came and went he waited He'd come here to meet someone on his master's wishes, and by all appearances no one had shown up for what felt like at least a bell. At least he'd managed to finally break free of his habit of fidgeting in situations such as this but it did no favors to focus his drifting attention that set his eyes to roaming among the people moving about. It was the only thing he knew to do to stave of the boredom growing within him.

Perhaps he might spot the person he was to meet, the thought bringing him a measure of satisfaction as he scanned from stranger to stranger, ever wary of the man or woman with a particular interest in the collar around his neck, for that would be the one he'd been sent to meet, and so starting the guessing game.

oocThe collar signifies him as belonging to the Nitrozian Family

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Amolina on June 29th, 2013, 9:41 am

~ Amolina Moletta ~

A woman in a violet dress appeared in the crowds.

A black silk mask with bronze coloured embroideries covered the upper part of her face : she had not taken time to do her make up this morning and in her opinion she couldn’t leave home without creating the painting of herself like she wanted it to be. She had put on the mask in lieu of the paint.

…on my way to Odds and Ends, only stopping for a cup of tea and a piece of fresh bread from a stand at the Plaza … so many things to do these days, so many hard and unexpected complications …I will buy the bracelets I saw, they were so unusual and so beautiful…but first a cup of tea …

Here she was now, drinking tea and eating bread, Amolina Moletta, competent but still unemployed actress with unfulfilled dreams of success, indebted “volunteer” worker at KRI, general factotum for hire and sometimes spy …

She watched the street life in the Plaza. So many people in the crowd. A glimpse there of a very thin and unkempt blond teenager girl with hungry, searching gaze. A darkskinned and broadsholdered man was idling nearby, near enough for her to see that he was wearing a slave collar around his neck. And so many other people, all looking like they were busy with very important things indeed …

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Alenias on July 1st, 2013, 9:26 pm

Soon enough Alenias found the spot where she was sure the sweet bread had come from, but all she found instead was a merchant surrounded by piles of gaping and stinky fish. The stink was enough to push away her desire to eat, and so returned the gnawing emptiness inside of her. Letting out a soft whimper the Kelvic turned her attention back to the crowds of people moving around and past her. Food could wait, if needed she could even return to the forest and get some berries and nuts, but now she needed to focus on why she was here.

For a few chimes her dark eyes skittered back and forth over the crowd, passing over uninteresting people one after another. Somewhere in the crowd had to be someone that would catch her attention, like Aello had when they first met. Maybe even someone who was talking to a bird, or another animal? Unless it was a rabbit, she remembered something about magic rabbits not being good...

Her luck eventually turned, and Alenias found among the crowd a very interesting looking lady. She was about the same height as Alenias, so probably not good with a bow like Aello had been, but she wore a flower colored dress and had something shiny covering her face. Curious what the item was, Alenias openly stared at the woman as she started to stalk her way for a closer look.

Unfortunately, with her attention so focused in that manner, Alenias was not paying much attention to where she was walking, and so she caught her foot on something and stumbled into the large man who had been standing off to the side. She gave a startled gasp at the collision, which became a surprised chirp as her eyes took in the intimidating size of the man. Briefly she froze in fear, but as her eyes touched on the collar on his neck they widened, and she quickly moved to get away from him.

She knew the collar was something bad, something she had to avoid, but she couldn't remember what exactly it meant. She didn't think the bad men wore collars, but there was still something about it that she remembered being bad.

OOCHope the staggering and such is alright, let me know if you'd like me to edit. :)

All too suddenly he was stumbling forward into someone, off balanced by the form that had knocked into him. The man he had stumbled into reacted quicker, a pushing him backwards so that he fell backwards painfully onto his hindquarters. Fortune favored him that the man noticed his collar, and decided to go about his own business once more, for he was in no mood for a fight. He had more important business to consider, like whom had caused him such trouble, and getting up cautiously, he looked carefully around

At first all seemed normal, with everyone peoccupied with their own daily business, as they should, but then he caught a glimpse of a small figure quickly moving away from him. He pressed after the retreating stranger, determined to know why he'd been subjected to such treatment.

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Amolina on July 2nd, 2013, 4:08 pm

~ Amolina Moletta ~

Would she ever be the same again?

There was a “Before being poisoned” and “After being poisoned” in Amolina’s life. It had made a difference to make a close acquaintance with her own near death. It had been a near thing. Physically she had healed and recovered. There was nothing wrong with her. Yet …

The unkempt teenager girl – or a very thin young woman, perhaps - had approached all of a sudden, in a manner like she had decided to just land on this spot in the plaza, without seeing the slave. She had bumped into the man and made him bump into another man in turn. The commotion tore Amolina out of her troubled thoughts.

The girl was shabby, dirty and unkempt. Her clothes looked ruffled and askew, like she had put them on completely at random, without paying any attention to the result at all. Amolina herself could spend bells working at her appearance in front of her mirror. Before, just a season ago, she would quickly have turned her gaze away from this girl, in denial of even having noticed her.

But now she saw this rugged, hungry looking girl.

And it upset her. It oddly upset her, to see someone like that, really see her, in all her miserable, unkempt dirt and seemingly complete unability to keep herself clean and well-groomed. It upset her, that she had nowadays started to see those people that her gaze had previously used to just skip over like they didn’t exist in the beautiful city of Ravok.

But the thin dirty girl existed. And the slave too. People like them were no longer invisible to her, like they had used to be. Feeling like there was something she ought to do or say, albeit she had no idea what, she parted the fresh bread in two halves and tossed one of them to the girl.

There. She was becoming more and more odd, wasn’t she. Now she was tossing bread to shabby people in the plaza too. What would become of her? A madwoman? What had that poison done to her ? Was there no end to its efffects? She glanced around, feeling embarrassed and hoping no one had noticed.

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Alenias on July 2nd, 2013, 5:23 pm

For a brief moment Alenias thought she might have gotten away from the large man with the collar without being noticed. He hadn't grabbed for her, and she couldn't hear any angry yells that seemed to be directed at her. Letting out a relieved breath she glanced back, just to be sure, and found that the man was looking right at her and pushing through the crowd.

Eyes going wide with panic Alenias began to move as quickly through the crowd as she could, hoping to lose the man before he could get close and grab her. Would he try and put a collar on her? Maybe he would want to drag her off to the guards? Neither one was something she wanted, and so she continued her panicked flight from him.

The movements of the crowd and Alenias' retreat managed to bring the colorful and shiny-faced woman back into the Kelvic's view. At first she didn't give the woman a second thought, more concerned with getting away from the big man, but then the woman did something amazing; the shiny-faced woman broke a piece of bread and tossed it towards Alenias.

For just a moment Alenias paused in her desperate run while fumbling to catch the bread, and she tried to quickly understand what was happening. The shiny-faced woman was giving her food. Giving food was something good Treanas had taught her. The shiny-faced woman must be a good person like Aello and Treanas then! There was something else though, something she was supposed to do when people did nice things...

"Thank you," Alenias' words were stilted and awkward feeling in her mouth, more used to bird song, but her bright smile showed the sincere feeling behind those words.

The moment was quickly overshadowed by the looming presence of the large collared man, and with a gasp Alenias dashed for the nearest safe place that came to her mind. Surely the nice shiny-faced woman would help her against the big scary man.

OOCAdrian, feel free to grab Alenias after her pause from the bread catching. If she doesn't get caught she is going to try and hide behind Amolina. :)

In trying to navigate through the crowd, he'd almost lost the troublemaker, but to his surprise the figure stopped not far from him, allowing him to close the distance between them easily. Not one to second guess his fortune, he lunged for the young disheveled form, snatching for the collar of her cloak.

"I have you little pest" He growled, as the details of the troublemaker sunk in, and quickly figured her for a thief because of her roguish appearance. "You picked the wrong man to try and steal from girl, what have you to say for yourself?"

oocLonger posts will be forthcoming, as soon as this thread gains some more traction. At the present Adrian only notices you, Alenias, and so there is only so much to post about from his point of view.

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Amolina on July 2nd, 2013, 9:45 pm

~ Amolina Moletta ~

It seemed to be hard for the girl to form the words properly when she said thanks for the bread. But her smile was bright …

The moment broke like glass smashed by a sledgehammer. The man with the slave collar had come after the girl and accused her for being a thief. Amolina supposed he wouldn’t accuse someone without reason. Well. If he was missing something he would of course want it back.

And he had a right to draw attention and make the city guards come there to investigate the situation. Being a slave he would hardly take the risk to cause trouble in the plaza for nothing. It would reflect badly on his owner … whoever that could be.

But the girl had not seemed to be particularly good at speaking for herself. And her smile had been so bright, just for a piece of bread. Amolina stepped closer, feeling uneasy but not able to just turn her back on the scene and leave. The girl looked fragile, and the man had lots of muscle and looked like he could easily crush his adversary.

[Nitrozian Plaza] Returning to Ravok

Postby Alenias on July 3rd, 2013, 6:34 pm

For a brief moment Alenias thought she might get away from the collared man, but her next step was brought up short by a sudden pull back on the collar of her cloak. Her fingers tightened around the piece of bread, not wanting to lose the tasty food, and she turned to glare at the tall man as he growled at her.

"I don't steal!" Alenias yelled at the man, her voice cracking with the force of her words, "Treanas told me to never steal, and I never have!"

Bringing up her free hand, Alenias tried to pry the collared man's hand off of her cloak. She wasn't supposed to go without clothes, or else she would just leave the cloak and run away again. Should she punch or kick the man? He was tall and wide, so punching and kicking probably wouldn't work. Maybe the nice, shiny-faced lady would help? Alenias could see her out of the corner of her eye as she struggled with the collared man.

"Let me go! I didn't steal anything!" Alenias yelled at the man again, glaring at him as hard as she could.
