Planning the Great Hunt [Kiran]

As the great bird studied her, Arandolya carefully studied him. The Eagle was a bit smaller than usually, but by Arandolya's guesses they were not unhealthy. Eyes were clear, plumage full, and nostrils clean. A couple Wind Eagles that were a bit smaller didn't stick out, as they were still huge creatures to be reckoned with. Not to mention, an overly large Wind Eagle would seem quite awkward next to the young girl. Politely unaware of any telepathic conversation between mount and rider, Arandolya appreciated the passive persona this Wind Eagle seemed to possess. To balance out Endal Kiran, no doubt.

"Come. He wants to look at you," Kiran finally said aloud. Instead of asking why the Wind Eagle didn't just speak to her directly, Arandolya nodded and moved up to the great bird. "His name is Pelyna."
"Pleasure, Wind Eagle Pelyna," Arandolya murmured dutifully, staying calm as her hand was placed on Pelyna's chest. Unsure if he was the type that liked the feathers on his chest ruffled, her hand stayed still and spread as to not press on any feathers and instead wriggled beside them comfortably. Another silence invaded the Aerie, most likely filled with some sort of communication between the others, in which Arandolya hummed quietly to pass the time.
"Well apparently you don't look appetizing enough for him to eat you."
"That would be most unfortunate if I was, Endal Kiran," she said politely, though her eyes held a tinge of amusement she felt society would not accept her to express. Remaining serious and respectful, Arandolya gave Pelyna some space by retreating a couple steps.

"He says you look light enough for him to carry but we'll need to find a Dek to carry the rest of our things to the campsite," Kiran commented lightly, though by the way she looked at her, Arandolya assumed it was 'You need to find a Dek'.
"I could find the Dek to accompany us, Endal," Arandolya offered nonetheless, smiling. "I know a few that have come to carry back prey on larger expeditions, and might know enough to survive out there," she added with a thoughtful tone. It was never positive a Dek would live outside of the mountain. Near to impossible, come to think of it . . . they would be defenseless, and most likely very cold. The thought of giving Dek any weapons, or her own clothing was simply out of the question, even with her more passive view on the caste system when it came to the disdain of Deks.

"We might run into trouble of sending only one though, in matters of them surviving. Two might have a larger chance of surviving, and will also be able to hug each other for body heat," she said, seemingly amused by the idea of two Dek hugging it out in the winter paths. "Also, if we were not going to drop them off ourselves, meaning one of the Endal taking them separately, it would be near impossible for them to get down the mountain to where we would have to hunt. It could take them days, that's if they were even to get down the path," Arandolya continued with a small tilt of her head.

Pausing, Arandolya looked to the Wind Eagle, and smiled slightly. "Before we do plan this, I might suggest Pelyna trying to fly with both of us now, to ensure it is possible." She looked to where her bow lay and looked back to Kiran and her Eagle. "We could even bring our weapons to mimic how it would be to fly us full gear down."

That you noted that your character was aware of their own flaw in shooting was nice. It’s good for a character to be aware of their skill; and for one who uses it often, even more important for them to know what they did wrong.
I gave you seduction because of the flattery Aran was giving to Kiran throughout the exchanges. Aran has remarkable patience to put up with the condescension!

I love your writing style, Aran. You have a very clean, crisp flow to it that's easy on the eye without being boring. The only thing I might suggest is investing a little more time in describing your surroundings or how Aran interprets them.
