When one walks through the doors, they are instantly met with an aroma of perfume in the air. The inside is warm, heaths burning on opposite sides of the room to keep the atmosphere soothing and relaxing. From the entrance one could hear music playing, often musician's who shop in, or even the customers are allowed to play if they have the skill and are paid for their time. The bottom floor is used for socializing, for those new to the place and those who are nervous about the more lively activities. It is also for those who prefer a different setting than they would find at the White Swan or the Rearing Stallion. There is a bar set to the far wall to the left of the entrance, the floor is set with a few tables on the right, and lounge chairs and love seats on the left not to far from the bar.

The second floor is more private, for those looking to spend time alone with their company behind closed doors. There are also men and women who work in the establishment, who would be more than happy to spend time with a customer should they ask. These employees come from far and wide and have their own particular set of skills that they bring with them. The second floor is very open, allowing for customers to live out their wildest dreams while keeping the matter private and from prying ears.

The third floor is completely open (the passion floor.) There are no rooms on this floor, the entire area is one large room. This floor can be used for many things, but people mostly come to this floor to cut loose and get wild. The Herald's Arms is for adults only, and although the establishment may seem to go against the rules, or borderline them, the law is held up inside just as it is on the streets. The Herald's Arms is owned by Nathan Louger and his wife, who had a brilliant idea to build on the location that used to be known as the Golden Dragon.

Eliz Pelyn

Name: Eliz Pelyn
Race: Human
DoB: 33rd of Spring, 492
PoB: The Mithryn Outpost
Title: Companion at The Herald's Arms
Skills: 50 Flirting, 35 Persuasion, 30 Socialization, 25 Seduction, 20 Cosmetology, 20 writing, 15 Acrobatics, 5 Stealth, 5 Sewing
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: Eliz was born in a poor family that struggled to make ends meet because of her father's addiction to drinking and her mother's short temper that made it hard for her to keep a job for very long. She grew up hearing her parents fighting every night as a child. She would routinely run away from home, only to be brought back by a neighbor or good samaritan, after which ensued a vehement scolding and a vicious argument between her parents. She swore she would one day be the happiest girl in the world.

With nothing but pain and torment at home, Eliz spent as much of her time wandering the city even as a very young child. Determined not to be like either her father or mother, she would be friendly and smile at everyone she met, and frequently talk with complete strangers. She would talk her friends into getting their parents to let her stay the night, or two. As she grew older, she honed her skills, frequently talking her own parents out of trouble, and became proficient at persuasion for her own benefit.

The transition into a sexual lifestyle was never due to desperation or depravity for Eliz. It was simply the natural course of things. She had gifts that she knew how to use, and others desired it. In fact, it was the most freeing experience Eliz had known. No matter what depths of poverty or despair she was born to, no-one could ever take away her beauty and charm, and with those, she could ensure success, stability and happiness.

When she was just 19 years of age, after saving up as much mizas as she could, Eliz got herself an escort to Syliras to work full-time at The Herald's Arms.

Eliz is a joyful woman, always smiling and happy, true to her childhood dream. Her infectious charm and laugh are excellent at dispelling the nerves of the many clients who visit the Herald, and leave a lasting impression even on those who might never meet her again. She has a childish mannerism about her, but can also be a bit of a prankster. She spends her spare time working on sewing projects, or helping transcribe erotica and stories that her fellow colleague at the Herald, Sephlyn, dictates.

Sephlyn Nightshade
Image
Name: Sephlyn Nightshade
Race: Human
DoB: 84th of Winter, 480
PoB: Syliras
Title: Companion at The Herald's Arms
Skills: 55 Seduction, 40 Intelligence, 30 Socialization, 30 Intimidation, 25 Rhetoric, 25 Politics, 25 Storytelling, 15 Cosmetology, 5 Writing
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: Sephlyn was born to a rich family in Syliras with all the wealth that any child could desire; however, she was not in any way spoiled. Her parents were both strict, but caring, and she grew up to learn that wealth and well-being is earned, not given.

With both her parents involved in many gatherings and events with high-ranking people of the city, Sephlyn learnt much at an early age about social and political conventions and practices. As she matured, her mastery of those skills combined with her natural keen insight quickly garnered favor among many, especially those eager to marry off their sons to promising matches.

Sephlyn wasn't particularly interested in being either a bookend for a business man too worried about economics to even think twice about his choice of wife, or stuck with a spoiled, rich fool who didn't even know how to spell "ledger". Instead, she spent much of her time playing them against each other, sometimes seducing the man, sometimes giving into the demands of physical gratification, but always in control.

Unfortunately, such an intricate web inevitably always collapses. On the night of the 43rd of Winter, 505, one of Sephlyn's lovers made a loud and drunken announcement in the middle of a large business gathering. Two other men, both past lovers, confronted and argued the drunk man. Confusion turned to anger as Sephlyn's lies and life fell apart in front of an entire host of nearly a hundred wealthy and influential people.

Her loss shattered her world. Not only did she lose the game, she lost respect, title and wealth.

Forced to start from the bottom, Sephlyn began looking for a job for the first time when she was 25. Ever the pragmatist, she chose to seek work as a companion at The Herald's Arms, due to her extensive experience and skills. As well, the simplicity of working openly and legitimately in the trade, with no more lies or deception, appealed to her. This was her chance to truly start over.

Sephlyn has changed much since then. She has a strong presence, and carries herself with a tall stance, her pride wounded but intact. She is smart and cunning, though living and working among commoners has taught her a sense of humility as well. She has been working at the Herald for almost 10 years, and is an elder-sister figure to Eliz, who's innocence and child-like joy Sephlyn envies at times. Sephlyn also writes erotica and stories in her spare time with the help of Eliz's superior scribing skills, and sells the books at the Herald, or the Great Bazaar, where Eliz will attempt to sell her poorly-made sewing projects alongside Sephlyn. Both her experiences in the past and natural ability to weave stories make her an excellent storyteller. She hopes one day to be successful and popular enough to be able to make a living off of writing and publishing, but for the moment it's a nice side-income.

The Herald's Arms

Postby Matthew on July 8th, 2013, 11:52 am

The scent of perfume wrinkled his nose, but Matthew quickly wiped the look off his face, once again assuming a professional air. He brought along the slip the Center had given him, as well as his copy of his work credentials. He made extra sure to carry himself with the graceful poise that he normally did, wanting to appear as subtly erotic as possible. He was dressed sharply, having dropped by his apartment to grab a clean and crisp outfit. Silk trousers held to his toned hips, with a slightly snug shirt hugging to his upper-half. He had added a little scented oil to his jawline, giving just the lightest of smells to his presence.

Approaching the bar with papers in hand, he waited his turn before leaning in and quietly speaking to the bartender on duty. "Hello, sir. I was looking to get a job as a pleasure giver. I have brought along credentials, and can most certainly answer any questions. I just moved to Syliras, and would like to start as soon as possible. To contribute to the society in my own unique way." His speech was proper, carefully spoken; his gaze steady and serious.

The Herald's Arms

Postby Ferrin Al'Mandrikan on August 11th, 2015, 8:24 pm

Heralds Arms

[/style]
Summer of 515 AV, day 71

(Ferrin walks into the Heralds Arms after dropping his horse off in the Stables to get some sort of rest. Ferrin pushes the main door open with his beefy shoulders carrying all of his burdensome things along with him. As Ferrin steps through the door a whiff of perfume rushed towards his nose. He sneezed. No one seemed to care, but a man strolls towards him casually and asks Ferrin if he needs a hand. Ferrin gently shook his head and asked where he could find the owner. The man pointed over to the left of the building to where some seating and a bar counter stood. Ferrin nodded his head and said his thanks and carefully walked towards the bar. The bartender, who is one of the owners of the Heralds Arms motions Ferrin to come and sit down. "Are you looking for a place to stay for awhile young man?" Ferrin nods and he says "I am sir, my name is Ferrin Al' Mandrikan. And I'm looking for a place to stay for at least one week for now. My horse is outside near the stables and I read on the board that it's 10 Gold Mizas for a week. If I'm correct. And I don't want to do any type of special business here." The bartender nods and takes his hand out to shake for greeting.
"Aye, my name is Nathan Louger and I am one of the owners here in the Heralds Arms. If you don't mind it is ten Gold Mizas for a week and that does include stabling too. My wife makes excellent food you should order something from our menu."
Ferrin shakes his head gently side to side while taking Nathans hand and shaking it. After a quick moment Ferrin grabbed out 10 Golden Mizas and handed them to Nathan. Nathan Louger releases a warm smile in return and gives Ferrin a key to one of the doors for a place to stay. Ferrin didn't want to order anything but he said he'll come back down to see took his horse, but Nathan said there is already someone who is doing the job, since they are a care taker of animals. Ferrin gathers up his belongings and walks upstairs to the second floor passing by all the different types of people in the first floor. It didn't take Ferrin too much time too get v settled in. After Ferrin opened the door he places his things in a corner near his bed and carefully takes his shoes off and places them on a side of his bed and puts his cloak on a back of a chair. Ferrin then lays on his bed and begins going to sleep.

"With a heart of steel, I raise my blade in combat. The only thoughts I have in my mind is whether I'd return home to my family. I am a soldier, and will fight for love and peace. That is the way of being a Syliran Knight"-Ferrin.
