"You have to forget yourself, it is the only way you will survive"
Her voice rang out all around him, resonating in his mind, yet he couldn't place whom it belonged to. In the darkness not much was clear save for the chains that bound him so tight they where becoming part of his flesh.
"They are of you now, embrace them"
The voice answered his line of thought before it came into his mind, and at once his need to struggle dissipated. There was a peace to be found, he could feel it, but he was not ready for it, not prepared enough. Thats what his mind told him in this place, but not much was right in this place where only darkness and chains resided.
"Understanding will come, with time"
He wanted to speak, ask the voice questions about what it meant, but like most of him, so to was his mouth bound, but not by any physical means that he could tell. More so ever a feeling, a mental block of sorts that didn't make much sense to his mind, but it came unbidden in his thoughts anyways.
"Careful what you say, they are always listening"
Again the voice interrupted his thoughts, and a shiver of annoyance coursed through him, yet there was nothing he could do to deny the voice. For some reason he knew it spoke the truth, but he knew not in what context or why for that matter.
"Keep your head down, and if your lucky they might look over you"
"And if I don't?"
He finally managed to say, only to be answered by unwavering quietness for was seemed like bells. Finally the voice answered.
"Be well, Adrian"
