10 Summer, 513
Another dead end. This was just perfect.
Xio sighed and tugged at the reins in his hands, leading his horse back up the steep hill and away from the harbor. He'd dismounted to walk, trying to keep Kontos from giving up and refusing to go a step further. However, he was now toying with the idea of doing the same thing himself. The sun was setting; he'd been lost for hours and his earlier enthusiasm had quickly faded away.
No. He was not lost; he was exploring. Getting to know his new home. Yes.
Off in the distance, he spotted a building that might be the World's End Grotto, but turned out to just be a set of shops. Discouraged, he walked on resolutely, but when he found himself at the same signpost he'd passed ten minutes ago he finally gave up.
Groaning, he collapsed onto the ground, leaning against a decidedly uncomfortable and lumpy stone building. He looked around wearily, hunting for anyone who looked like they might be able to give help, directions, or just a more comfortable place to rest.
((Anyone who wants to can jump in! Help, food, or rest at this point will probably win you Xio's eternal graditude and loyalty.))
