2nd Day of Fall, 513 AV
Finn stood at the bottom of her sails, one rolled in so that her boat could drift into the dock. It was remarkably busy on this side of the city, but as far is she could tell this is the safest place to dock her boat. It wasn't close to the market by any means, those docks were always changing with ships and boats coming and going. Instead the Svefra found herself in still murky water off the side of the big harbor. If she had a row boat she would have preferred to anchor her her Casinor in the Bay, but she needed to keep her goods dry so that she could gain the most from them. It wasn't much, a couple pounds of dried salt she harvested from evaporating the water in the summer sun, separated into clay jars for individual sale, A bucket or two of seashells and some jewelry she made from them. She would end up fishing and diving for clams and oysters while she was here to sell those daily, but until she got an ice box, she couldn't keep them for more than a few hours so it was a risky trade. Tossing a weighted rope around the pole on the dock, Finn hopped over onto the rough splintered wood, securing her boat to it. Finn was a little tired that morning from trying to dodge her way into the bay with all the traffic, so she decided to explore the city instead of start trading.
She glanced over at the rough men going in and out of the dock, carrying crates and drinking sour Ale's. The people farther into the city seemed to be dressed more than she. Glancing down at her attire she decided to wear her vibrant cloak, to cover her skin more. She was not cold since it was still the end of summer, but she didn't not want to be seen as a whore despite her obvious Svefra background. She'd grown used to her Pod an the sea where no one except the young lad's cared wether you covered a majority of your skin or not. Finn also liked showing off her skin where ink was spread across her arms and legs, making her look like a plaice of art. Her Gnosis had moved down to her left calf, already knowing she was going to leave the water.
The thought made her uneasy, an she continued to stand there for a bit, it was her first time on land without someone beside her and she was already scared to death of leaving the ocean, her home, as is.
Finn closed her eyes and muttered a prayer of rememberance and gratitude to Laviku. Her prayer was interrupted though, as a shorter man bumped her out of his way. Her eyes flew open and she glared down at the man.
"Watch out!" Finn hissed at the man who gave her a weird look. She settled at glaring at him, not caring to repeat herself in common. Decided she had to go to land sooner or later, or just take her boat back out to sea, Finn slipped her feet into her leather boots, and set off to explore this new city.
