35th of Summer, 513AV - 12th bell

It was a warm day in the Bronze Woods. The local fauna did their own activities under the radiant summer sun. The deer grazed, the wolves hunted and a young boy was in the woods who was honing his fists. Alex, a blind orphan, was in the forest preforming various strikes with both hands and feet in the forest, conditioning his mind and body for self-defence. A small flacon sat on a growing sapling and watched the boy punch the air with confidence. With each strike, the boy gave a kiai, or a short battle cry to help build an image of intimidation to whatever he was facing. Although Alex was blind, he’s capable to defend himself.

“Hyah! Aiyaah! Hyah!” Alex yelled as he punched a tree, holding a firm stance. However, his fists were not harmed by the solid surface. As Alex punched the tree, he generates a minute about of Res from his knuckles and when he strikes his fist towards the tree, the Res manipulates the air and forces it against Alex’s strike and cushions the impact. Alex continued punching and kicking the tree until he felt like he needed a break.

After a good ten chimes, Alex took a break and walked over to his backpack which was near Tallulah, his falcon. Alex sat down near the sapling that Tallulah, who is also called Lulu. With a bit of sweat dripping from his forehead, Alex wiped away the drops with his arm as he grabbed his water skin and drunk the refreshing water within it.

“Ah… That good” Alex said, heaving a sigh of relaxation.
“Oh, hey you go Lulu. You must be thirst too.” Alex said as pooled a bit of water in his cupped hand, offering Lulu a drink of water. The young proud falcon moved towards Alex’s hand before she dipped her beak in the cool pool of water. However, after a single sip she raised her head and turned away, as if she didn’t want the water to begin with.
“You know… you act like a spoiled girl sometimes…” Alex said before he drunk the unfinished water.

Alex remained seated next to his falcon, which was perching on a sapling grooming her flightless wings, as he waited for his body to rejuvenate itself so he can continue training. As Alex rested, he decided to indulge himself in a bit of reimancy practice, nothing that was too hard, just something to pass the time productively. Underneath Lulu were a few feathers that she had removed, Alex could hear Lulu grooming, because she makes a certain noise as she does it. He reached under the sapling and searched around for three feathers with his hand. Soon after he had three feather in hand.

With the three feathers, Alex cupped both hands together. The three feathers inside the bowl of his hands, Alex began to focus a small amount of Res from his hands. He then manipulated the res so it would twirl from the centre. The Res attracted the air and began shifting the feathers. The air-attracted res continuously spun in a circle before Alex, carrying the feathers. The ticking feeling of Lulu’s feather bushing against the palm of his hand made Alex giggle a bit. Soon after Alex parted his hands and the circle that the feather’s followed grew bigger. The feathers in the circle served as a touch stimulus for Alex, because he is unable to see and enjoy the beauty of magic.

[Bronze Woods] A Ghostly Sight (Fubuki Kouri)

Postby Fubuki Kouri on July 7th, 2013, 3:19 pm

Fubuki Kouri

A pair of deep brown eyes were watching the boy and his falcon companion. Ama, the Radiant White Wolf was intrigued by this young human, from his actions and mannerims; Ama could see he wasn't graced with the sense of sight. Yet, his actions were precise and confident, not letting his blindness get in the way of his activities.

Ama was the Guardian of the Woods, she had to maintain the safety of her home by observing interesting newcomers and this boy was a blind mage, that itself could be deemed as 'interesting' for her. Looking at his attitude and personality, Ama could safely say this boy was a kind young man. It was actually his safety that bothered her, not because of his blindness but because he was located so close to the 'Bane of the Wolves', the title Ama gave to a certain powerful phantom. The phantom who took the form of a little girl and slaughtered many of the wolves here in the forest for no reason at all than to satisfy her lust to kill.

Kouri's killing spree was toned down significantly after Ama introduced her to Rena, another ghost whom she adopted as her little sister... but Ama was still worried, you couldn't exactly predict on the integrity of a ghost's mind, especially one as child-like as Kouri. Ama also noticed someone had put a bounty on Kouri's head, she could only wonder on who was brave enough to take on the ghost. Even Razkar, the Veteran Myrian Warrior, was rather hesitant to fight her.

And so, Ama shifted to her human form, her clothless body then approached the boy, smiling gently to his falcon companion in the process. "Good day, young sir. My name is Ama, I'm a Kelvic who lived here and take care of the forest..."

Ama decided not to mention his disability, the boy would most likely not appreciate that "At ease, I come here in peace, I'm just here to warn you that... you're rather close to... the place where a certain ghost make her home. Are you familiar with the story of a phantom little girl who... had been killing the animals here in the forest? She's also the very same ghost who has a bounty of her head... I heard it from the hunters a few days ago..."

As Ama talked to the boy, the ghost she had been speaking about was heading to her clearing...

============================

Some distances away...

"Hm hm hm~♪" It was another beautiful, hot summer day in the Cobalt Mountains, specifically the massive patch of forest called 'The Bronze Woods'. Kouri was just happily floating around, she had nothing to do today and wanted to get fresh air. Her job at the Flower Stand? Already done and her sister, Rena, was in the mood of playing with the grandiose 'dollhouse' Kouri bought for her so she stayed at their rented room in the Traveler's Row.

Kouri finally arrived at her clearing and went up to her tree to check her treasure 'hole' at the hole on the tree's trunk. All of her daggers were still there, good. She stretched her ethereal muscles and yawned sleepily, wondering on how she would spend her time today.

"Eh?" Sounds of shouting and the following hard impact echoed in the forest and resounded in her ethereal eardrums, something interesting was happening near her location. Was it a fight? Was it a fighter training? Only one way to find out, with a giggle, Kouri launched herself to the sounds' general direction.

============================

"If she approached you, child, stay calm and don't aggravate her. She may look sweet at first, but there's a... beast within her that could spring up at any moment if provoked. Know tha-...." Ama's ears perked up when she heard that familiar giggle and eerie feeling, the ghost was near. Good thing she came to this boy first.

"I must go, child, she would not appreciate seeing me here... She... views me as her rival of sort. So, remember what I said" With that, Ama's body shone and transformed to her dire wolf form, she then swiftly retreated to the forest depths, leaving the blind boy and his falcon alone.

Not long after, the aforementioned ghost arrived, she landed elegantly and immediately spotted the boy and his falcon. "Ooooh~ Ehehe~" She giggled happily, another boy in the forest, maybe he could be her friend like Edrik and Alabast. Clearing her throat, the white ghost materialized herself, landed on the ground, and slowly 'walked' to the boy, thinking that it's best to appear as non-ghostly as possible to not spook him. "Ehehe~ Hello~ What are you doing here? And uuhm~ that's a pretty bird you have~ Is it your pet?"

The whirlpool of air continued spinning the feather in front of Alex. However, the feathers shot out of control when the sound of a woman caught his attention. “AH?! Who’s there?!” Alex exclaimed, jumping up off the ground, holding a defensive combat posture. However, the voice of the woman didn’t sound threatening, instead sounded insightful, and insightful she was. The woman introduced herself as Ama, a kelvic who’s a care taker of the forest. She proved Alex with information about a dangerous ghost that loomed the forest, killing several wolves - So many wolves in fact that she was given the title Bane of Wolves. Alex didn’t say anything to the woman because he was thinking about her words. The Kelvic forest guardian continued speaking. However, she was interrupted in the middle of her speech by something. Alex’s ears weren’t as sensitive as her so he couldn’t he the approaching apparition. Ama gave Alex a few words of parting before she vanished, even her sound disappeared.

“What…. Was… that…?” Alex said, still holding a fighter’s pose. Alex dropped his guard once again and yet again another individual caught him by surprise. The giggles of a girl caught his ears. The voice was female, but nothing like Ama’s voice; this one was high pitched and childish, and also had a resonating echo that followed each word. The girl asked Alex the reason for being in the forest as well as asking if something was his pet. Alex remembered what the forest guardian had said, and decided it would be best to heed them.

Asides from a map that would be incomprehensible to an abled vision man, all Alex could see was pure darkness. So the girl who was in his vicinity didn’t look like anything. Alex faced the vague direction of the girl and gave her an inviting smirk, because smiling would be too formal. “G’day ta ya” Alex greeted the girl. “I’m just well… exploring a bit... and training…” Alex said, listing his reason for being in the forest. Alex was trying his best to look like he was able to see, but when the girl asked if something was his pet. Alex had to assume that she was talking about Lulu.

As soon as the girl mention pet, Lulu gave the girl a look and turned away as if she was offended. “Dah?! shh…” Alex quickly hushed the girl, placing his hand together to signal ‘Sorry about hushing you’. “She isn’t my pet, but or of an adopted sister” Alex explained to the girl, hoping that Lulu would forgive the girl.

“So, stranger. What would your name be?” Alex asked, curious to know what the bane of wolves’ actual name was. Ama did say that see looked like a sweet thing, but then again Alex wouldn’t know what a sweet thing would look like. The closest thing Alex has got to a ‘sweet thing’ is soft thing. Perhaps the girl was soft as well?No Pedo ;). “uh… My name is Alexander, but you can me call Alex if you want… or Flynn. I don’t mind.” Alex said as we wandered towards the girl so he could sense the girl better. When Alex got close to her, the atmosphere around her slightly dropped; she was indeed a ghost.

Fubuki Kouri

The older boy's initial calm reaction was already a good sign in itself, it seemed he didn't realize - or better yet, didn't mind - Kouri was a ghost. Her crimson red eyes, powder white skin complexion, and especially the bloodstains on her dress was obvious tell-tale signs that she was not human. People who didn't realize she was a ghost would most likely think of her as a Viper Dhani in human form. "Good day to you too~ Oho~ An explorer I see~" Kouri kept her cheerful attitude and beamed the boy a happy grin.

She noticed his rather odd eye-color, but decided to keep quite about it, who was she to talk about eye-color when she's a Vantha in life? A subrace of humans whose eye-color could shift. "....." Kouri blinked twice in rapid succession when the boy suddenly hushed her, then she nodded in understanding.

So this bird was a rather smart bird who didn't want to be called a 'pet', but a sister? Kouri couldn't put animals in the same regard as people, if not, she wouldn't have killed numerous wolves, some bears, and mountain lions just to satisfy her need for spilling blood. "Is the bird a Kelvic?" She questioned further as Kouri viewed Kelvic in the same regard as other sentient creatures and of proper intelligence.

"My name? Ehehe~ I'm Fubuki Kouri, but you can call me Kouri." She did her usual lift-the-hem-of-dress and curtsied to the boy. "An honor to meet you, Alex~ I want to call you Alex~" She didn't mind when the boy got closer to her, perhaps it was time to slowly comfort the boy of her true nature "Say, Alex..." she extended her right hand and caressed his right cheek, her materialized state letting her to touch and be touched by corporeal objects, sucking his body warmth and giving her frost touch in return "I'm not exactly a human... not anymore at least, you don't mind, right? Please tell me you don't mind..." She didn't realize he was visually-impaired... yet.

OOCAhahaha! It's fine, Alex. I'm very open-minded about fiction. :) I've done a thread where a squire attempted to rape her and I'm fine with it, it's just fiction and Kouri is my fictional character.

The young girl asked a question that made Alex think in a different perspective. The girl asked if Lulu was a Kelvic. However, although Alex knew that lulu was an ordinary bird, she did show some kelvic like intelligence. Alex inclined his head slightly to the right as he thought about the young girl’s question. “No, She’s just a just a falcon…” Alex said beaming a smile in the vague direction of the girl. Tallulah gave a squawk of annoyance to Alex. “Oh, Sorry… I mean she’s a majestic Kestrel Falcon that is the shining example of what a bird is…” Alex said as if his line was scripted. As Alex said his scripted line, Lulu puffed up her chest feathers to show off her pride as she belonged to a noble family. It was quite an odd sight to see. “heheh…. Anyways, She isn’t a Kelvic she was adopted by my mother.” Alex summed up.

Soon after Alex’s introduction, the girl began introducing herself as Fubuki Kouri. The young girl spoke with such formality and politeness; she could be considered a flower that held a vicious poison within each innocent petal. Her conduct made Alex think she was a ghost of noble blood. As the girl introduced herself, Alex dipped his head slightly as a show of politeness. “Nice to meet ya, Kouri” Alex smiled, speaking in a very informal manner. It wasn’t his fault however, his mother spoke in a very colloquial manner as well and it brushed off on to Alex, as if it was part of his genetics. Alex noticed that his speaking may seem a bit off putting to a person with such formality so Alex tried his best to match his speaking etiquette to the girl’s “I-It’s… It’s a P-Plea-sur- Argh! Darn pleased to ya…” Alex said, dropping his head in his failure.

Kouri’s voice caught Alex’s attention. “Yes?” Alex replied facing the direction of the girl. Soon after, Alex could feel the temperature slowly dropping near his body, as if something cold was about to touch him. Something cold did indeed touch him. A cold and very uncomfortable sensation was felt of Alex’s cheek, and from the shape of the cold object that he could feel, he was able to tell that Kouri had placed her ghostly hand on him. Ama’s word were quiet true, Kouri was indeed a strong ghost. Alex endured the touch as he as suffered beatings for the past. However, the beating were just a tad more painful that Kouri’s touch. Kouri explained that she was a ghost and if Alex minded that she was one. The way she went about explaining made Alex wonder if she was a lonely soul, but he decided that it would be a bit impolite to ask such a thing to a person he just met. “I don’t mind” Alex said in a plain tone. “I’m not quite human myself actually, didn’t-ya-know.” Alex added, beaming another smile at Kouri.

Tallulah shot her head up and looked at Alex in confusion. “Well, I am human… But I’m sorta missing something…” Alex said sheepishly as he rubbed his arm. Alex doesn’t often talk about his blindness, especially with strangers of people he just met, but Alex felt like he needed to let the young girl know that he isn’t able to see her. Alex activated his auristics as he reached out to hold the ghost, hoping to place his hand on her shoulder, so he could find out information about the girl without asking. When Alex’s auristicts were active, Alex could smell the stale metallic smell of blood from the ghost. With the smell in the air, Alex’s arm instinctually jerked back away a bit from the dangerous being. However, Alex’s arm bravely continued it way to its destination. After reaching what he hopes is her shoulder, Alex looked at the Kouri with open eyes, his milky eyes trying to focus on her eyes but with no avail. “I can’t see you” Alex said, dropping a load off his heart. It felt good telling someone he’s blind every now and then, but know Alex may have to deal with fuss he’s created.

OOCLol, Lolicon humour will happen in the future then :D Loli 'n' Shota

Fubuki Kouri

OOCHahahaha! Sure!

"....." Kouri tilted her head in annoyance at the falcon who seemed to be puffing its chest in pride, it even dared to squawk in anger at its 'master'. It was really stretching its position as an animal. I wonder if Alex is insane... treating a bird as his sister, a sister who's adopted by his mother?! Is his whole family insane? Knowing the fact that the bird was not a Kelvic made her view it as just another animal and animals are not deserved to be treated like sentient beings. Kouri just kept quiet as it would most likely offend Alex more and she could lose her chance of gaining a new friend.

"Ehehe..." She made an awkward laugh at Draven's way of speech and his failure of conduction in a gentlemanly manner, his lack of noble-like etiquette disappointed Kouri somewhat, but she didn't pay it much heed as she knew not all people received the same kind of upbringing. Heck, Kouri's mother, Sora, was sometimes criticized as being 'too strict' on her daughter.

He didn't... pull away... All of the bad thoughts she had for Alex were immediately washed away, the boy wasn't repulsed by her touch, and he even... touched her back on her shoulder. A happy smile crept to Kouri's lips, she rubbed his cheek further with her hand and motioned herself to get closer to him, their form only separated by mere inches now. She closed her eyes and nodded in understanding when Alex admitted that he was blind, she suspected he was so from the color of his eyes, the creamy white veil was similar to Sir Ethan, the blind bard.

"I know..." She leaned in close and hugged him, sucking his warmth from neck to waist; placing her chin on his right shoulder, she then whispered into his ear; her frost breath brushing against his skin. "I... can help you... I can help you see me... you just have to relax..."

OOCAlright, Kouri will try to possess you but she could only do so with your consent as her possession skill is still novice. :)

Such a shame. Well Ms. Kouri, I couldn’t give you any experience points because you didn’t do anything that merited the earning of what experience points you might have been able to get. Especially at your skill level.
I did however give you a few Lores. If you are unhappy with this feel free to PM me at your earliest convenience.
