While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Keorvic disentangled himself from his lover, already dosing, and pushed himself from his small shelter. shaking himself, he wandered up to the fire to sit down next to Azerix. "Hey, I fried up some fish meat if you'd like it." he offered, pulling out some of the stuff he had cooked up earlier. "Tisn't fantastic or anything, but its better than the dried stuff." He offered a piece to the man and pulled out another one for himself.
looking around, he saw Kipps rubbing himself on the mage, and sighed. "I'm no auramancer, but if asked, I'd say something was bothering you. If you want to share what burdens you, feel free. I'm taking a double watch tonight, so feel free to hit the sack if you want, I'll not wake you early this time." he said smiling. "After all, it's only fair, and as I'm not a wizard of any sort, I am not plagued with this 'Overgiving' as you call it." he mused. |

Azerix watched as the large man left his tiny shelter and smiled when the man offered him food "thank you Keorvic" he took the piece and began nibbling on it his stumouch welcomed anything that wouldn't cause him sickness later and the taste was better than berries anyway "it's quite good actually...thank you again" he finished off what was left of the fish in his hand and poked the fire once more.
"Thank you i appreciate the offer for sleep i'm exhausted" he continued to pet the cat in his lap and yawned "I don't know why overloaded and blew up...it must be this place...just old dead memories in my head causing me to be on edge...this place...never mind." he rolled over and laid his head on his backpack not wanting to even bother with climbing the tree this night "Overgiving is simply straining the mind...it would be like you spending 3 days non stop fighting..your body would just give and you would have side effects...." he closed his eyes and was soon drifting off to sleep every now and then he would have a twitch or mumble something in his sleep. |

Akiva stepped out of the tent. She saw Azerix sleeping next to the fire, Kipps curled up on his chest, and Keorvic sitting near the fire, on watch apparently. Azerix was acting a bit strange, but for the most part, she didn't care to get involved in human emotions..or at least not other humans emotions. She pulled a gallon of ale from beside her pack and sat down next to Keorvic, taking a big swig from the jug. She offered the ale to Keorvic, setting it down between them, and got her flute from her packs. She began to play a slow, low pitched song, seeming both sad, eerie, and entrancing at the same time. She spoke when she had finished the song, "We leave this place in the morning, if you're ready." She was watching the fire now, thinking she saw tiny women dancing in the flames. "I don't think we can afford to stay much longer, with the bandits and lack of game. We'll need to go deeper into the woods for that, I'm sure we'll hit some nice places along the way." She looked over to Azerix. "I'm not so sure that he still wants to go with us though, he's been kind of strange all day." She could hear the swish of trees blowing in the wind in the near distance. |

"It's this place. he said something about memories. I think he must have had an experience here or possibly a vision. Either way, I concur, we leave in the morning." Keorvic murmured, not wanting to again wake the poor man. One night of nearly no rest whatsoever would be enough to put an edge on Keorvic's attitude as well. He poked at the fire, and rested his hand on Akiva's thigh. sliding it up her leg, he whispered in her ear to go sleep, he would wake her when the time was right.
After Akiva had gone, He got up to patrol. He strapped his spiked gauntlets over the fist wraps and leather gloves that he now always wore. He then moved off into the trees. He located the huge tree that Azerix had slept in the night before, and decided that there was no chance he would be able to climb it. With that, he staked out a triangle in his mind around the camp. Following that path, he moved as silently as he could.
Several hours later, he caught himself leaning against a tree with his eyes drooping. He quickly pushed himself away and strode over to the camp. the fire had burned down to embers, and Azerix was trembling. or possibly having a bad dream. Either way, Keorvic hunted down a few large chunks of wood and set them onto the fire. slowly, they caught and the fire grew again. He checked the position of the stars. "Still a few hours yet." he thought blearily. He fished out the last of the fish he had caught that day and wolfed it down, suddenly hungry.
He quickly stood up, lest he grow sleepy again, and resumed his triangular patrol. He had seen very little game, and while this could possibly be attributed to the fact that he was lacking in stealthy and silent movement, he had a feeling that it was something about this place. It was inviting enough during the day, but at night it was unwelcoming, unhappy. He shuddered. "You're letting your imagination run away with the darkness." he grinned to himself.
Soon he grew tired again, and stumped back to camp. He looked at the small mage, snoring gently, and the transfered his gaze up to the stars. "Finally, Time for Akiva to take over. I gotta not do this anymore." he thought to himself, and dragged himself to where the Kelvic slept. with a quick shake he woke her and informed her of his plans to sleep. "As soon as she gets up, I'll close my eyes and go to sleep." he thought, too late as he was asleep before she even responded. |

Akiva awoke to find a sleeping man next to her. She was pretty sure she had heard him talking to her, but wasn't sure. She stumbled out of the tent, half asleep, assuming that it was her turn to take watch. She looked around for Azerix, and saw him by the fire. She figured he would be asleep for a while, as he seemed to have been lacking sleep the day before. Kipps was cleaning himself by the fire. She sat down beside him and stroked his fur lightly, her eyelids fluttering drowsily. It didn't take her long to wake up though, and soon she was ready to make her rounds. She patrolled the camp in a wide circle around the tents, at times almost touching the tree line. She heard nothing of the bandits for a long while, and decided it would be a nice time to try out something. She went back to camp and grabbed her quiver from her packs and slung if over her shoulder, and picked up her bow. She headed out to the trees and pulled out an arrow, raised it to the bow, aiming for the nearest tree. She let the arrow go and it flew into the woods, obviously missing her target. Though she could generally see pretty good at night, it wasn't at all the same as during the day. Her eyes were still human after all. She tried again and again, some arrows hitting her target, or other trees, and some flying off into the forest. She had gone through a few arrows when she heard a rustle in the leaves to her side. She turned around quickly, aiming her bow at whatever it was, and waited. Seconds passed and she couldn't see anything, until slowly a small dark shape glided towards her from the dark. She held her breath, what kind of monster could this be? She heard what sounded like a very small growl, and the figure emerged into the semi-light area around her. Kipps rubbed against her legs, purring loudly. She let her breath out. "You scared me Kipps..don't do that again."She gathered most of her arrows before picking Kipps up and returning to the camp. She looked up to the sky to see the first lights of dawn on the horizon. She set Kipps down on Azerix's chest and put her bow and quiver next to her packs. It would only be a few hours before the other two were up and ready to go. She watched the flame dance around in the pit, showing her visions of petty thieves and assassins alike, as she expected to find at the end of their journey. |

Azerix lay there asleep as Both Keorvic and Akiva took there posts he had no idea Kipps was asleep on his chest when he awoke he gently pet the cat behind the ears and watched it stretch then walk off him laying next to the fire once again. Azerix sat up looking at Akiva feeling refreshed "hey." he smiled at her then looked at the flames again "if you want i can watch for the rest of the night.. if you want a few more hours of sleep" he stood up and brushed of his clothes looking around the camp site then sat back down "not much to do here huh?" He pulled out his small black book and opened to a page pricking his finger with the Quill. |
The first few days have been...strange to say the least first off it started wrong...we camped so close to my home..all i can think of is my parents...the family i destroyed the people who were killed because of me...dead memories. but that wasn't the most exciting thing that happened yet...Keorvic the half vantha in the group was attacked by a rabid wolf..he is a really resilient one...if i was bitten by a wolf i would scream...and most likely go into shock..he just shook it off like it happens normally...wow... Akiva is skilled with her bow..atleast better than me...poor beast was Whimpering by the time i ended its life the most humane way i could. i can still smell the burnt hair. we also ran into a group of bandits...or at least Akiva did while she was looking for food. The next we ran into a symmestra hybrid...what crazy and scary people... Akiva managed to find the bandits again except her stray arrow managed to hit the eye of one of them...unlucky bastard....Anyway she managed to capture a Hare for herself and Keorvic fished up some food for himself and of course i managed to pick berries that end up being poisonous not liking my stomach and i managed to loose my own dinner...thankfully Keorvic offered me some of his fish from earlier today. and that is basically are last 2 days in a nut shell. |
Azerix put the book back in his bag and began to pet Kipps once again poking the fire with a stick and becoming entranced in its flames |

Keorvic stirred as the sky began to lighten near the horizon. He yawned and rolled over, knowing that Akiva had already arisen for the day. He blinked and realized that for the first time in a week he was wearing all of his clothes in the morning, and smiled at the strangeness of it. With a yawn and a stretch, he gathered himself up and did the same with his belongings. He finished and stuffed his rolled up bedroll into his pack, and set about stowing away his personal shelter. as he crawled out, he greeted his companions quietly.
stretching again, he nodded towards where the sun would soon be rising."we should start moving as soon as possible so we can cover some ground today. this place has done nothing but give us trouble, but hopefully we can find somewhere better withing a few days." he said. "I'm going to head back to the stream, and when I get back, I want us to set off? that sound good to everyone?" he asked, rubbing his hands eagerly. |

10th Day of Summer 510 AV |
Akiva looked up from her daze to realize that Azerix had been speaking to her. It wasn't long after that that Keorvic came out of his shelter, gathered up his things, and announced that he was going back to the stream. "Yeah sure, sounds great," she said, half mumbling. She had made herself sleepy watching the fire. She stood up and walked over to her packs, putting all of her stuff away. She put on her boots and picked up her bow. She still wore her breeches, shirt, gloves, and wrist brace from her watch. She rolled up her bedroll and tent and put them with her things, then slung her pack over one shoulder and her quiver over the other. Looking at the half empty jug of ale, which, along with the other two, had proved to be a little too much weight for long distance travel, she quietly stated to herself, "I think I'll leave this one here, surely we don't need to drink too much on our journey..." She kept the other two and looked to Azerix, "how about you friend, ready to go?" She frowned, having thought about it for half a second, it was ridiculous to carry all of this stuff around when they weren't even ready to go, and who knows how long Keorvic would be at the stream. She set her things down again in a neat pile, ready to be picked up again when they were headed off. She picked up the jug she had decided to abandon and took a big drink of it and held it out to Azerix. "You look like you could use some alcohol in you, boy," she said with a wink. |

Water splashed and lept around gleefully in the small creek. Small minnows, no bigger than a child's smallest finger darted around. The early morning sun filtered down through the trees and scattered on the face of the wet rocks and water. It's gentle caressing fingers alighted on the large Half-Vantha washing his face in the stream.
After a quick wash in the bracing cold water of the stream, Keorvic stood up and stretched. He looked around, ever vigilant for new threats after being nearly killed by a savage wolf. he stood up, awake for the day, and pulled out some trail rations, and began to eat as he walked back to camp. When he arrived, He saw Akiva was ready, and declared it time to get moving. with a few quick movements he picked up his pack and shelter, and made ready to leave as soon as Akiva could pick up everything, and Azerix could finish packing.
"I think I'll start walking now, albeit slowly." he announced suddenly. He wasn't impatient, but he was ready to leave this place. he meandered off, making sure not to get too far away, but clearly making it obvious that the sooner they got out of there the better. |
