Sei was ready. He had been doing warm ups, waiting for Rodrick. Sei changed to human form, not wanting to startle anyone passing by. He began to pace around, fidgeting here and there. Sei was a little worried. It had been 2 years since his las training session, and he didn't particularly like the idea of training after so long. Either way, Sei had made the arrangement, so cancelling it would be rude. He'll be here any moment now.. Sei thought. Sei was nervous now. Even though Rodrick was human, Rodrick could easily use an arrow and kill him. Sei dismissed the thought and sat down. No matter when Rodrick came, Sei would be ready.

[Bronze Woods]The Training Session

Postby Roderick on July 22nd, 2013, 7:28 pm

17th of Summer, 513 A.V, The Bronze Wood

The wood never seemed to change; in the lower reaches the leaves were bronze and gold, turning green the further up you went. He enjoyed the sights and smells around him as he made to join the Kelvic he'd met the other day. They'd got to talking; first on random gossip, but eventually about fighting. The Kelvic had introduced himself Sei Tendo, and he'd asked if Rod would be willing to train with him out here. He'd not given Rod any reason not to, and the training would be worthwhile. It had been days since he'd done any kind of practice; after the hunt with Wade he'd been too tired to do anything and had lingered around his apartment most of the time.

Sei hadn't been sitting for long before he started to fidget again. Sei sniffed the air. The human, Rodrick, was somewhere near. Sei tensed, anticipation flooding his thoughts. Sei jumped up, transformed, and ran towards the scent. Even though Sei handn'y trained, he was still excited. Sei ran along the bronze woods, twigs cracked under his paws, and bronze and gold leaves crunched. The forest was still the same. Sei ran as fast as his legs would allow him.

Thud!

Sei had been so absorbed by his thoughts that he hadn't paid attention to his surroundings. He had crashed into someone. Sei transformed and stood, rubbing his head. "Oww.." He muttered. "Oh, sorry! I didn't see you there!" Sei said, extending his hand to the person. Then Sei realized who the man was. It was Rodrick.

There are a lot of things in life that are painful. Stubbing your toe, or stabbing your finger with your knife when you're trying to cut your food is painful. So is shutting your hand in a door.

Being floored by a tiger takes things to a whole new level.

He'd been strolling along, without a care in the world, remembering all the other times he'd been there; then suddenly he found himself breathless and looking up at the sky.

"I knew this day was too good to last..." he wheezed. The tiger stepped away and shifted into a human; white skin, grey hair. He leaned forward and offered his hand, and Rod saw that his eyes were green and slitted, like a cat's; the Kelvic from the night before.
He felt the urge to vomit, but he swallowed, reached up and grabbed the Kelvic's hand.
"Nice breeks" he said.

OOCIs he even wearing anything? Haven't really read up too much on the Kelvic so I'm not sure if the clothes just vanish when they change shape or if they fall off/get destroyed etc.

[ooc-I take mines off so yeah..]

Sei pulled Roderick to his feet, and changed back. Sei gave off a toothy grin, but stopped, realizing that a grinning tiger doesn't exactly help a human. Sei turned to where he had came from. Sei nodded to where he'd come from. Sei turned to Roderick, and began to walk back the way he came. It's wasn't to far for Sei, but for Roderick, it might take some energy. Sei stopped and waited for Roderick to follow before walking forward again.

[Bronze Woods]The Training Session

Postby Roderick on July 22nd, 2013, 10:15 pm

Roderick picked his bow up from where it had fallen on the ground and walked toward Sei. Well, walked was a bit of a strong word; his backside was sore from where it had slammed against the ground and as he dragged air back into his lungs his ribs hurt, though not enough for them to be broken, as far as he could tell. "Didn't plan on using it on you" he said as he followed "brought it in case anything tried to eat me... didn't plan on getting flattened by a giant white furball..." he mumbled the last to no one in particular.

As they walked deeper into the wood breathing and walking became easier for him. Roderick quickened his pace to keep up with Sei; the Kelvic was a few inches taller than him, which was an interesting change given he usually tilted his head down when he was talking.

Sei ignored the furball comment, and continued toward the direction he had come. At least Roderick wasn't to angry, though it was clear part of his day had been ruined. Sei hadn't realized how heavy Roderick's breathing was until it got lighter. Sei had probably knocked the air out of him. It wasn't every day a human got slammed into by a tiger, hell, it wasn't every day they'd talk to one. On that note, Roderick seemed calm. Good to know he's level-headed... Most human's might freak out, he thought. Sei rounded the path and stopped.

The trees would make it difficult to see or shoot, but would also allow cover for them both. The flowers that were growing would render acute smelling like his useless. The terrain would make it difficult to run fast without smashing into things, and the that would make it a fair fight relying on hearing and sight if possible.

Sei rummaged through the backpack he'd left here. Grabbing a rattle in his mouth, Sei handed a rattle to Roderick, grabbed another, and got it's string over his neck.

Roderick nodded his ascent to Sei and walked a ways of, hid the rattle under his vest, then veered to the right and slipped away into the trees. For a while he could hear Sei moving about, with the sound of his own rattle filling the air, but the rattle faded away quickly as the distance lengthened, and before long he could only hear his own footsteps. He held his hand against his vest to stop the rattle moving around too much, placing his feet carefully to avoid disturbing anything on the ground and jerking the rattle.

Sei held the rattle in his mouth, cancelling the sound as he turned a few corners. After awhile, Sei couldn't hear Roderick's rattle either. Watching his step Sei turned left. Sei checked his surroundings, and found that there was a tree that was small enough to jump on, with a branch that would more than likely hold his weight. Sei landed on the tree silently, heading toward the plump branch.

Shk!

Shit! Sei thought. The rattle had slipped out of his mouth. Sei rushed up the tree and put the rattle back in his mouth. Then Sei realized it. If Roderick heard the rattle, he might head this way, then it's a surprise attack! Sei thought, grateful for his slipup. Sei's tail flicked with excitement. Sei waited, lounging atop the tree. Even though Sei was in a tree, with so many others, he was still unable to locate Roderick.

[Bronze Woods]The Training Session

Postby Roderick on July 23rd, 2013, 8:55 am

There was a rattling sound away to the left, so Roderick hid himself behind a tree, trying to go quickly to get out of sight but trying to avoid shaking the rattle. He edged around the trunk, being careful to avoid dragging his side against the bark; the Kelvic's hearing would let him hear that if he was close enough. Roderick moved to another tree nearby, then another after that, keeping an eye on the trees overhead, in case the Kelvic had decided to climb into one.
He paid attention to what was going on on the ground too, though; he didn't plan on being rushed by the tiger a second time. A breeze began drifting about him, running its fingers through the leaves overhead. The sounds of the leaves and branches moving made hearing anything else impossible for the time being. That gave him an idea, so he slung his bow across his back and scaled the nearest tree.

He couldn't remember the last time he'd had to climb a tree, so it took longer than he would have liked, and he was annoyed by how hard he found it. When he'd gotten up to where the leaves were thick enough to hide him but thin enough to see through, he wrapped his legs around the branch and leaned back against the trunk, taking his bow in his hands and notching an arrow. He didn't plan on trying to hurt the tiger with his arrows, but he had an idea of some other things he could do.
