[Sei Tendo]

Sei had so much confidence that he was off guard. "Sorry 'bout this. Nothin' personal." The human had said, before forcing his foot into Sei's face, knocking him out the tree. Thud! Sei had hit the ground. Hard. Sei gasped for air. So this is what Roderick had felt when he rushed him. Damn, it hurt. Sei tried to open his eyes, as his vision blurred for a few seconds. Sei slammed his eyes shut, trying to force out the pain. Pulling air into his longs hurt, but his ribs weren't broken. Sei struggled to his paws. Sei was mad now. I should have seen that coming.. Sei thought, shaking it off. Sei circled the tree, still dizzy from the fall. Sei groaned, realizing the pain in his front right paw. The pain was all the way up his arm. Sei rattle shock in his mouth.

Maybe knocking him out of the tree hadn't been the smartest move, but it did buy him some time. He's dizzy and angry. He's not thinking straight. Rod tried to think of some way to use that to his advantage. When he did figure out what he was going to do, he climbed down a little and crouched on a branch. "Overconfident, aren't we? I just booted you in the face for that a few seconds ago. Do I have to do it again, or will you be a good little cat and give me your rattle?" Rod smirked as the Kelvic paced with growing fury "Aw, are the kitty's feeling hurt?" he laughed to himself. Come at me.

That was it. Sei had had enough. "Aw, are the little kitty's fellings hurt?" Roderick taunted, laughing to himself. That was it. Enraged by Rodericks words, Sei lowered his head, his ears lowered, and growled with all his might. Sei's rattle dropped to his neck, the string keeping it attached to him. Sei bared his teeth, growling again, and prepared to jump. How dare he mock me?! I will have that rattle!! Sei thought, narrowing his eyes to where Roderick kept his. This was the last time the human would mock him. Sei placed his paws roughly in front of him. Forcing out his claws and quickly retracted them. Sei had noticed he was getting out of control. The reason was because Roderick was hoping to anger him into something that would lead to his defeat. It was amazing how quickly Sei had lost control. Regaining his senses, Sei let out a toothy grin. Sei's side had stopped throbbing, and his arm felt much better. This was his chance. Sei jumped onto the first branch and turned away from Roderick. Sei then started his transformation.

Sei's ears lowered, the rattle falling out his mouth and he growled furiously. He bared his teeth and growled even louder, getting ready to jump as he narrowed his eyes and clawed the dirt. As quickly as he had lost his temper, the Kelvic regained his senses. His mouth seemed to turn up at the sides as he jumped up onto the first branch and turned away. Roderick watched as the Kelvic started to shift from a tiger to a man. He tossed his bow down to the ground; he didn't need it anymore. His quiver wouldn't help either, so he dropped it too. He grabbed the branch he was on, then quickly swung himself down and lowered himself onto the one below; Sei was on the one after it; Roderick again gripped the branch beneath him, swung himself off and levered himself down to the one below. The Kelvic was nearly at the end of his transformation. With no time to lose, Roderick hurriedly stepped over the short distance between them, drawing his dagger. He reached round and grabbed the rattle with one hand, even as Sei's transformation ended. Rod realized then how tired he was; he was sweating and breathing heavily. Wanting to end it quickly, he drew his knife; he felt Sei tense as it's edge came up to his neck. He sliced with the blade. The cord parted and the rattle came free.

OOCHope I didn't mislead you too much at the end there. Oh, and I laughed more than I should have at "I will have that rattle!!"

Sei was almost done with his transformation, and was about to turn and grab Roderick's rattle, when Roderick had jumped down and grabbed the string, and cut it with his dagger, letting the rattle fall in his hands. It was over. Sei reverted back to Kelvic when his first transformation was done and turned to Roderick. Sei nodded to the entrance direction, and stalked off. Sei had lost. Even as Sei walked back, he thought hard about his loss. I chose the wrong time to transform. If I would have waited his bell would have been mines. Sei thought to himself. Sei was soon flooded by the smell of plants and flowers. Sniffing up hard, Sei located his bag and took it into the bushes, transforming to human, and putting on his clothing. Stepping back out of the bush, Sei put the pack on his back and waited for Roderick.

After collecting his bow and arrows, he gathered what arrows he could found of those he'd thrown earlier among the scattered petals, knowing there were many more still missing throughout the entire area. The journey back to the clearing where they'd started the challenge felt longer than it had been during their chase. He limped back into the clearing and looked around for Sei; he found him soon after, back in human form, fully dressed in his black shirt and striped black and white trousers, waiting for him. Roderick walked over to him and held out the rattles; Sei had left without taking them back.

Sei had waited for Roderick for a few moments. When Roderick approached Sei, he extended his had to give Sei the rattles."Huh? Oh, the rattles. Thanks."Sei said, noticing how many arrows Roderick was missing. Well he did give me a run for my money.. Sei thought."Uh.. Hey, Roderick right? I see I wasted your arrows, so how about I replace them? I mean, you did give me a good run." Sei called. Even though he lost, Sei had actually had fun for once. Sei was eager to leave, but he still wanted to thank the man. Sei had seen many training sessions, but only a few of them had made him excited like this one. Sei walked up to Roderick and waited for a response.

"Huh? Oh, the rattles. Thanks." Sei took them from Roderick, then looked at his quiver "Uh.. hey, Roderick, right? I see I wasted your arrows, so how about I replace them? I mean, you did give me a good run." even though he'd lost, the Kelvic seemed pleased; he'd enjoyed the exercise, it seemed. "Let's see.. you ran right into me at full pelt, chased me around the woods, and made me jump out of a tree." Roderick smiled and rubbed his ribs "Sure, I'll take the arrows; you've my thanks for that. First though I'm going back to my apartment and going to sleep." he nodded and smiled to Sei, then turned and started walking away, groaning to himself as the adrenaline wore off "Wake me up in a week." he called over his shoulder.
