12th of Summer, 513
The boots echoed in disciplined rhythm in the polished halls of the Institute. The guards stood at attention as the wearers strode by. Out of place these men may have been, but only due to their "place" being the Vitrax. They did not acknowledge the deference of the Institute's guards as they passed, thought they would definitely have reacted to anything less. The guards relaxed as the visitors moved on down the central hall, wondering who had misbehaved so badly as to warrant such an escort. More than a season's tuition was likely to be lost by the poor unfortunate garnering the focus of such attention.
The Vitrax delegates passed the Magic wing, their eyes not straying an inch to glance that way. Neither did they have eyes for the Science wing, it's philterers and poisoners hearing only the unnerving tromp of their plated steps recede as they left the intersection of hallways behind. The students in the Intelligence wing grew steadily more nervous as the steps grew in volume. They knew there was nowhere beyond their section for these men to go.
The steps halted at the door. There was no knock, these men knew their footsteps had been heard. The present instructor betrayed a measure of nervous hesitance by taking several seconds to make his way to the door. He opened it and stepped back to let the men pass. They did not. They stood, their dark armor gleaming, spikes adorning joints and forearms, Weapons glyphed and displayed in readily accessible position. Their face plates cold masks of steel intolerance. Statuesque in rigid attention, they still exuded the capacity for swift violence. But only their eyes could actually be seen to move as their harsh gaze swept the room...
...and lit upon the sole Zith among the humans in attendance. "You...Zith...you are Irriari...You will come with us." Nothing was said as a question. No verbal response was expected or desired, only obedience. One of the escorts stepped back into the hall to be the lead man, as the one who had spoken stepped to the side to allow their charge to assume position between them. There would be no further discussion as they made their way back to The Vitrax.
