His choice in clothing tends towards the simpler side of fashion, and he personally favors earthy colors like brown and green.   Jackal Eye color: Brown Fur color: Gold Weight: 36 lbs Height: 30 inches Length: 55 inches Description: Rysmarin's jackal form is just slightly larger than that of the average male of his species, and his coat is usually vibrant and well kept thanks to near constant grooming. He generally prefers to trot about in the nude while in this form, as is only natural, but he'll occasionally find a second use for his cloak as a large, makeshift scarf. Character Concept Personality: Rysmarin is a very expressive person, regardless of his form. He wears each and every one of his emotions on his sleeve like a badge of honor, and he's often expressive enough to render auristics redundant. Even looking as he does, Rysmarin can still view the world with the infinite joyous wonder of youth, and his golden eyes sparkle with the reflection of that perceived splendor. The other side of that token, however, is just as true... Each slight and jibe against him wounds his heart and pride just that much more. Anger and sorrow are brought to the surface just as easily as joy for the Kelvic jackal. Still, at his core, Rysmarin is a rather happy-go-lucky person. Usually the only thing that mars his otherwise perfectly tranquil days in Avanthal is that familiar yearning that drives his entire race... Ethics: The one and only rule Rysmarin pays any more than lip-service to is the golden one: Do unto others what you would have done unto you. If he'd want help in a situation he sees someone else in, he offers his own. If someone seems down, he may very well try to cheer them up. If he sees someone sitting alone and bored, he might try to liven up their day... Though how he goes about doing so might be called child-like, impish, or just plain mischievous more often than any would like. Likes: A single word can sum up just about the entire list of things this Kelvic enjoys in life: Beauty. Be it women, a song, or simply walking down the street on a nice day, Rysmarin enjoys seeking the beauty in everything his senses can find. Dislikes Beyond mushrooms and the biological aversion to pain every living creature possesses, there is very little Rysmarin dislikes. Sure, he's very cautious around males as a general rule, but that doesn't mean he bears them any ill-will... Character History For his thus-far short time in Mizahar, Rysmarin was born and raised in Avanthal. As one might expect, that hardly means the same thing to him as it might a human of the same maturity, considering his mere 8 months within those e'er wintry walls. Indeed, while he has found the sounds and people of Snowsong hold beautiful for as long as he can remember, he has recently taken to exploring the city as a whole. He even casts whimsical glances towards the adventure and mystery beyond the city's bounds, towards the dangerous wilderness of Taldera. Young as he is, though, he has not yet finished exploring Avanthal, though that meager excuse (ground into him by the caution his brief stay within his parents' home instilled in him) will not last much longer, lest he find what he is only half aware that he is seeking. The Laughing Jackal General Information : 1. What is your Name? Hiya! I'm Rysmarin Snowsong. Good to meet you! 2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? You can just cal me Rys! 3. How old are you? Nine months. ... Really? Yes. Why does everyone look at me funny when I say that? 4. What is your height? I'm just over six feet tall! 5. What is your weight? One hundred and fifty two pounds. Guess that's why some people call me skinny! Aesthetics : 1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I'm a jackal and a prankster! Oh... but ya meant how I look, right? Well, I'm a lot paler than most people, 'specially the Vantha I was born with. Taller and skinnier, too. I'm still a sexy beast, though. Tell the truth, please. Um. Truth? Okay. Honestly, I think I'm pretty average looking. I guess I don't really think about it often. 2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. The ladies see me as a luscious hunk of meat and their husbands see me as a pretty boy out to steal their wives! Again, please be honest with your answers. Ugh, I've got to be honest? Fine. Most people can look at me and see an overgrown, energetic child. First thing they notice? My white hair and skin. It's different from most people, I guess. 3. What is your favorite body feature? My dad taught me to always stay in good shape, 'cause you never know what could happen. I tend to keep myself toned more for the ladies, though. Ladies. 5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? I like simple clothes that are about a size too large for me, 'cause they're comfortable and easy to get out of. Stuff like that's also pretty easy to come by if I lose 'em somewhere. Family : 1. Who are your parents and what are they like? Delja and Ander Snowsong. They're pretty great, as parents go. Dad's a strong, confident kelvic, and taught me to be that way. Mom's a kind vantha woman, but she had powerful friends here in Avanthal. She taught me how important those can be... even if they're only your friends until the storm hits. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Sadly, no! I'd like one, though. 3. What is your extended family like? What's an extended family? Is that like when my dad goes on huntin' trips? 'cause those tend to take forever. What is your family beyond your parents like? Oh. I don't know. Kelvics don't really keep tabs on any family beyond their bondmate and direct children. My mom's parents died before I was born, n' she was an only child. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? I don't know. Does anyone hold any more value than anyone else? I don't think so, 's much as they like to think they do. When I go out, I tend to wander a lot, anyway! I think it's fun, since I meet lotsa new people that way. 5. Where do you fear to be? Um... I guess I'm a bit uncomfortable in Frostfawn. I tend to get mollested when I go there from time to time... and not in a good way! Traits : 1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) I burn easy... And not that "oh, hey, I got a little sunburned" thing most people do. No, if I get sunburned, it's like "OH gods, IT BURNS!" and people ask stuff like "why'd ya paint yourself red?" Mom said it's cause I have "fair skin", and the sun's brighter or something in the cold weather. 2. Are you right handed or left handed? Um... You know, I'm not sure! When I write my journals, I use my left hand, but I tend ta favor my right for other things! I guess it just depends on my mood. That means your ambidextrous. Amby-what now? ... Moving on. 3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? I speak Common and Vani. I tend ta be a bit loud, but my voice is far from unpleasant! I don't sing much, though. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I like to joke and pull pranks! Some people find that odd, annoying, or defining. Most find it all three! 5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them)? I don't now, but I think I might get a tattoo later. I'm not sure, though... I hear it hurts, and it's totally permanent. I guess I'd need ta see how it looks on both my skin and my fur, 'fore I actually decide. Don't think I'll ever get any piercings, though. Metal, skin, and Avanthal don't mix well. Learned that the hard way. Occupations : 1. What is your occupation? I am currently unemployed! Well then, are you currently looking for a job? Yep! 2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? Nobody likes work, otherwise it'd be play. I can't really see myself disliking something, though, so I guess it'd always be play for me! What occupation do you admire the most? Why? I admire everyone who works and loves what they do! It's amazing to see the job a person does when they can pour all their energy into it. 5. Like I said, my mom and dad taught me pretty much everything I know... But Hypnotism's a skill I picked up from a traveler. It doesn't help to always look on the bad side of things, so I try to find the good in everything! 2. What are your religious views? I'm not particularly religious, but my father... Well, he described our way of looking at things as "spiritual, not religious" once. So, we don't really pray a lot, but we let our gods' and goddesses' teachings guide us in our daily lives. 3. What is the worst and best thing you've ever done? The best thing I've ever done was this one prank... It was long and complicated and the end result was just plain awful! In a good way! The worst thing I've ever done... Actually done...? That's probably nearly scare an old lady to death with another prank... I got in trouble, n' felt terrible besides. 2. What is your greatest regret? ... My parent's passing. It might not have been my fault, it might have been their time, and they might be in a better place... but that doesn't make it hurt less. Doesn't change the fact that I didn't help... 3. What is your best/worst memory? My best memory is my mother's singing, dancing, and playing. She truly deserved to be called Snowsong. My worst memory... Well, I think my last answer's good enough. 4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why? ... I wouldn't have frozen up when my parents... I'd have tried to help, at least. They'd probably still be dead, and I might be, too, but... I'd have tried... 5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life? I... don't know. I just try to enjoy living my life. Being proud of just one thing above every other little accomplishment just seems to detract from that, y'know? Emotions : 1. I suppose someone attacking someone else either physically or emotionally will get me going. Relationships : 1. In general, how do you treat others? As a friend. In that way, everyone is my friend, and I can help brighten everyone's lives! 2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? No one is more important than anyone else to me. Everyone deserves a proper chance at life, happiness, and friendship. 3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Person...? Hm... I respect my father the most. Not to say I respect anyone less, least of all my mother, but... Well, what can I say? He's my dad. 4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. I don't... My ideal lover would have to be someone fun... But my ideal bondmate? Right now, I think my ideal master or mistress would have to be... my counter balance. It's that "Just in case" that makes my answer no. Group Situations : 1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I don't like to argue with people. I tend to try and avoid confrontation with charm, good looks, and above all, humor. Good humor fixes everything! 2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Not usually. I don't mind doin' so, it's just... I don't really care. Lead or follow, I'm good! 3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Yep yep yep! It's easier to hide in a crowd... and more chaotic when I inevitably start up a snowball fight! 4. Do you care what others think of you? Um... sorta? The three whom represent the cycle of life. Among those three, I just can't decide. I respect Dira the most, but I feel drawn to Caiyha and love Kihala. 2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any? I respect the power of all gods, but unless I find myself confronted with an angry deity, I don't see myself having much to fear from any of them. 3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? In that respect, I suppose gods are no different from mortals to me. Still, I try to live my life in the best way I know how to please the goddesses of the cycle of life. 5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? I think everything is circumstantial, and nothing is above consideration. As long as the task is in the best interest of everyone, there's nothing I won't try to do if asked. Life & Death : 1. What do you absolutely live for? I live to carry on, learn, and experience.
