"Aye. It was a good race."
Jabari carefully made his way off the Gildling, first removing his feet from the stirrups and then easing one leg over to the other so that he could dismount from her side safely. Once grounded, he gave the mare an affectionate hug around the neck whispering congratulations, though he doubted she cared much about the outcome. Turning back towards Ohirin, the teenager extended his hand. "We will have to do this again sometime. It was fun."
An audible cough coming from the gates caught the Vantha's attention. Apparently the monks were less interested in watching a race than they were in reminding the outsiders about the informal curfew. "I should probably get back to The Safe Haven Hostel. You can find me there if you ever seek a riding companion or just company for the day. It was nice to have met you Ohirin."
Once farewells were in order, Jabari made for the gates of Nyka. It had been a pleasant day and he was happy for the experience. Sometimes one good laugh, or one good smile, were all that was needed to press forward during otherwise dreary days. And while the Chaser of Dreams always had his memories of Mura to lift his spirits, it was nice to know that joy could find him outside The White Isle.
I should go riding more often.
