It occurs to me that I should maintain a record of my writings in a singular location. I have decided to use the pages of this tome to record my compositions and possibly refine them over time. I think that keeping them here will help me to remember and contemplate my inner feelings later. You can do this, Xelic. This is for her.

As the sun begins to set, beams of light burst through the trees
Crimson body meets horizon, leaves rustle in the breeze

A flock of birds fly over, silhouettes against the sky
Instinct, their only navigation, to guide them as they fly

Pensively I watch them, admire them as they soar
Hoping every second, yours brings you to my door

Aching, my heart beats, a weight of bricks upon my soul
Yearning just to see you, to once again be whole

Sunlight quickly fades, dissipating light
Stars begin to twinkle, illuminating night

Every star a sun, fierce cosmic skies
Burning through the cosmos, searching for your eyes

Oh to lay my eyes upon you, and gaze into your soul
For without you I am nothing, your spirit makes me whole
