The kelvic's ears continued to twitch each time the woman spoke. She even tilted her head a few times while trying to decipher the squires slurred speech. Kyra found it interesting and if she had met this woman a year and a half ago it would have been quite the scene. When she was just a teen, Kyra had developed the habit of mimicking others speech, and did so all of the time. Some people didn't like it as much and others found it cute.

"I agree, I find the forest to be comforting in many ways. In the city is it too noisy and some many people. I feel I will never get used to it."

Kyra blinked curiously at the words of the woman which should have been taken as a joke. But Kyra could see it, the woman was big enough to crush others smaller than her, just as the crazed four-armed woman had tried to crush her. "That sounds awfully painful."

It was a good thing that she had decided to change the subject when she did, the woman seemed to be offended when she spoke badly against dogs, and even yelled at her, at least..it seemed like that was what she was doing. "You're a very different squire...aren't you?" When it came to the subject of coin, Kyra found that she could understand exactly what it was like. Although her own childhood had been pampered and cared for, her life as it was now would be considered poorish at least.

Now it was Kyra's turn to talk and tell about her life. She was normally tight lipped about it, but now that more people were asking about her past, she learned it was easier to just tell what happened. "My mother is gone, so is Jacques, and Marcelo. It's just me now." With all the talk, the kelvic hadn't realized that they had made it back to the city. They were still outside of the gates, but the stables were close by and beyond that the stone prison awaited. "Are you feeling better now? Do you still need a doctor?"

[The Bronze Woods] Squires, Kelvics & Bandits, Oh My! (Kyra)

Kayelin glanced at Kyra, wondering what it was like to have no one. The strange-eyed girl seemed like a happy person - at least not depressed. Technically the Squire was alone at the moment, but her family was still alive. They were merely miles away. Hopefully soon she would change that. "I'm sorry," was all she could think of. It was a pitiful attempt at being understanding, but she meant those two words.

Time seemed to move surprisingly fast on the trip back to Syliras. What took bells felt like chimes. Kayelin guessed that could be equated to good company. They arrived at the gates without her even really realizing. One moment they were walking, and the next they had made it. She looked down at her small savior, not really wanting to say goodbye yet. But she needed to see a physician and Kyra might have business to attend to.

"The Knightsh wiw take me to she a doctor, I wiw be okay." She smiled reassuringly. Her head still pounded and her tongue was on fire, but Kayelin was managing to keep a good lid on it. Sunberth could chew someone up and spit them back out quicker than they were able to blink. This wasn't the worst shape Kayelin had ever been in. "Fank you," she said with all the gratitude that she could muster. Without Kyra she would be dead right now. The Squire put her big hands on the Kelvic's little shoulders. "If you evar need anyfing, pwease find me." Her eyes were serious and intense. "Can I ask what you are?"

Kayelin didn't want to be rude, but now that they had arrived she might not get another chance. Kyra's eyes weren't human. She wasn't afraid of the girl - but was instead in her debt - so she was sure that even if she said she was half Zith and a quarter Dhani that Kayelin wouldn't be able to justify caring. It was merely curiosity.

For the length of time she had been looking up, Kyra had started to feel her neck cramping. This had to be the nicest, tallest woman that she had ever met. There was a dull ache in her back that she also felt around her ribs and down her legs. Bruises from the fight and protesting limbs crying out for a warm bath that she intended to grant as soon as she saw the woman off.

Kyra looked to the hands that rested upon her shoulders then turned her attention back to the woman as she spoke. The squire asked an odd question and Kyra wasn't sure how to answer at first. It took her a moment to catch the meaning before she would speak. "Well..I suppose.." she started, looking around as she sought to find the right words. "I think I am what is called the citizen."

The kelvic smiled weakly, satisfied with her answer as she thought was worded correctly. "I am not a member of the order and I believe that is what everyone else is called." Yawning, she stretched her arms out and lifted up on the tips of her toes. It had been a very long and trying day and she had gotten more than her normal exercise. "I do hope to see you again, maybe next time we can talk without the trouble with bandits." Kyra waved a good bye and headed off into the city and to her room for a good rest.

OOCThis is my last post to our thread. It was lots of fun.

[The Bronze Woods] Squires, Kelvics & Bandits, Oh My! (Kyra)

Postby Kayelin Mannering on October 21st, 2013, 4:17 pm

Kayelin stared after Kyra in confused disappointment. That hadn't been the answer she'd been looking for, but technically it was a proper one. Despite herself she smiled. It seemed that would remain a mystery. Surely the Squire would meet her again - at least she hoped. Kayelin wasn't sure if Kyra would seek her out or not. She might have to search herself.

A hand suddenly fell on her shoulder and she jumped. Turning around slowly so as to not jostle her head, she came face to face with the grim frown of one of the Knights. She didn't remember his foreign desert name, but he was on duty guarding the gates. Her eyes immediately dropped to her feet, and her face reddened. "What has happened?" he asked sternly. In a rush, she explained the events of the day.

He didn't yell at her. He didn't even chastise her. That in itself was worse than being reprimanded. Instead, he sent for her patron Aquila. The Ethaefal arrived a short time later, out of breath and looking livid. The effect was that much more intimidating with her towering height and curving horns. Her supernaturally beautiful features were set in hard, angular lines of disappointment and anger. No words were spoken. The two of them stared at each other - one angry and one ashamed. When Aquila turned on her heels and marched back into the city, Kayelin followed quietly, feeling like an errant child.

OOCTime to turn this sucker in! Bust out the brandy, Kyra.
