Anna sat at the small table in her home, a cluttering of parchment near her that were ready to be used for her glyphing experiments. Today she was not doing this for herself but was rather teaching another person how to properly understand the nature of Glyphing. It was rare for her to teach anything outside of her job, however there was the promise of payment far greater than any mere money that was offered. The promise of magical knowledge had brought forth a thirst in her that was rarely rivaled by anything, to learn how to further her own power to its highest potential. So here she was in her humble abode, ready to teach in exchange for the knowledge of this so called Flux.
Anna had met him not five days ago, and the memory of her humiliating defeat was still very fresh in her mind. She, a professor of the University had been bested by another wizard in combat. It was more than humiliating and even now it stung her pride to reflect upon it. Anna hissed slightly and stood from her chair to begin pacing. As much as it pained her, it was necessary to go over her flaws in that battle as it would ensure that she would not make the same mistake.
The mere fact that she had been limited to one element was definitely a handicap to her, however Tallis' Flux had managed to slip past any defenses she might have mustered against him. Thus, due to her own inexperience and arrogance she had lost and what a bitter pill that was to swallow. The young professor could only sooth herself with the thought that she would not let such a thing happen again.
Anna paced in irritation, stewing in her own thoughts as she looked to the door, wanting him to show up so she could get this over with and learn whatever it was he had to teach. He seemed far too honorable to back out of a deal, so the young wizard was content with his word that he would indeed teach her. Still, she wondered what the petch was taking him so long to get to her house. The directions had been clear enough so it was on him to show up.
The young woman stopped for a moment and calmed herself, breathing in through her nose and out her mouth. She needed to be clear headed if she was going to teach Glyphing today, to focus on the task at hand. He would get here soon, and if he didn't Anna would settle for finding him at a later date and cursing him up to his eyeballs.
