Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Timestamp: 17th of Summer 513AV

Breathing deep the summer air, Rosela meandered along the streets of Riverfall. The summer air was nothing compared to the heat of Ahnatep, but it was close enough for her comfort. At the end of the season, it’d be a full year since she’d come to the city. The realization came to her on occasion, always with a small thump in the back of her throat when she thought about what she left behind. It was long gone, however, and if her parents or anyone else from her past life had not contacted her by now, it was safe to assume they weren’t going to.

There was no one else on the streets around her, and the primary sound in the air was the rhythmic sound of her sandals clapping on the cobblestones. Leth was high in the sky, not quite full, but keeping the city in a fair amount of light as Syna disappeared below the horizon. Rosela paused in the middle of the Christina’s Remorse bridge and looked out at the darkening skyline, a scattering of crimson clouds indicating where the sun had fallen.

It really was…a beautiful night.

It calmed her soul and kept the dark thoughts at bay, for the moment. Being alone on the street likely contributed, with no man-cakes to oogle and no women to mentally compete with, she was free to let her mind float. Even the shadows seemed to be sleeping, though she wondered if they actually slept. Since her marking, the night felt far more comfortable, with the shadows of the city unable to hide much from her. She’d offered a few greetings after having left the shop, but for the most part she left the shadows alone, and they offered her the same courtesy.

She kept walking and passed over the bridge, moving closer to the edge of the city, near the city walls. The thought of going outside the city passed through her mind, but was quickly dismissed. The grass was beautiful in the moonlight, the one time she had seen it, but it hid dangerous things.

A shadow moved in her peripheral, and Rosela paused, wondering who else was out. Moving on her toes to muffle the sound of her sandals, she crept to the side of a building and hid in the deep shadow of the overhang. Holding her hair back with a pair of hands, the other four pressed to the cool brick of the building as she peered around the corner. The shadow, aware of her standing in its darkness, whispered in her ear.

”Look…”

Transformation [Eida]

It wasn't a bad day for her. It was succesful, she could find something to eat. Even it took a half day to catch it but she did it. She was all dirty at her legs. And she had to realize: Hunting in a robe wasn't the best idea ever. But she was afraid to go any shop as they knew she was a symenestra lethaefal. Her robe had little holes now, it was all dirty too. Syna was going down and gave Leth her place to the sky but Eida didn't care about that right now.

She stopped and she had enough of it Eida shortened the robe a bit. she kneeled down and with her claw at the lower part where there were holes she ripped it off. Not the best but it looked better in some way. Not like she cared about it but people in here was extremely sensitive about everthing around her. The cloth she ripped off she tied to her wrist didn't know where to put it at that moment. When she stood up finally she looked at her side.

The Moon was just about to come up. Eida took her hood off. Her eyes changed to violet, her hair turned from white to black. From her hair green horns grow out and her claws from her hands and feet disappeared. Her skin was reflecting the Moon's light. Before she went on she wiped off her legs and her soles as it was the dirtiest since she didn't use any footwear.

She was going to leave the grass and the nature to have another night at the city but she stopped. Someone was watching, a woman. A beautiful woman with a lot of arms. Eida was going closer, was she Lacerta? No she looked different, but as different and elegant. She had enough peeps she silently talked to her."Good... evening? Do you need anything from me? "

OOCSorry it's so later...

It was a woman around the corner, pale and delicate looking. Long nails and white hair gave her a sinister kind of look, though nothing in her demeanor suggested it. She was also...filthy. Rosela raised an eyebrow as she appraised the woman from her hiding place. Dirty, worn, and with the ugliest robe she'd possibly ever seen. Apparently the woman thought so too, as she proceeded to slice off pieces of it with her nails.

The spying was getting boring, now that Rosela knew it was just a woman wandering around. She was careful to lean off the wall before straightening, to avoid any scraping sounds that would give her away. She was just about to step back to the street when movement from the sidestreet made her doubletake back to the woman. She was changing, transforming. White hair turned back, horns sprouted from her head, and unspoken danger about her turned to something more transcendent. Unearthly.

She was still dirty and poorly dressed, but as she stepped back onto the street from the grass she looked up and noticed the gaping Rosela. Rosela herself didn't even register she was being stared at herself until the woman spoke.

"Oh! Um, I..." She found herself at a loss for words and blinked in confusion. The woman seemed unperturbed at her own transformation, so Rosela could only assume it was a common occurence. With a concerted effort, she forced herself to stop staring and pull herself together. "I'm sorry, I've just never seen... If you don't mind me asking, are you some manner of Kelvic? I don't think I've ever seen such a transformation." Her own curiosity, coupled with the mark of Akajia on the back of her neck, burned to know what on Mizahar was going on.

She saw the woman was hesitating for a moment what to ask. Manner of kelvic. That was an interesting point of view for her. She shook her head and smiled at her. "Well... no. I don't have an animal form and I don't do this willingly. I just change my forms while the Sun and Moon are changing roles." She answered to her.

Eida also pointed at the direction of the Moon. "I'm Eida, an ethaefal. I'm Syna's lover's daughter." She thought she explained everything to her now. She wanted to let her go then but she took a closer look at her before it. Like Lacerta she had six arms and she looked so elegant with it.

Eida felt uncomfortable as Rosela looked so beautiful. She had something attractive in her. And even her dress was so pretty. She looked down at her poor clothing. Dirty, torned, worned... She was embarrassed. Even her opalescent skin was glittering under the Moon's light, her robe was ugly. "I'm sorry..." She started. "You look so beautiful and your clothes are so pretty and I'm wearing the pooriest robe I could find."

"Changing with the sun and the moon...Ethaefel; Leth's children." The shadow next to her on the wall whispered into Rosela's ear, and Rosela tilted her head, eyes on the stranger's gently twisted horns. "Oh. I'm not sure I've ever met an Ethaefel."

The situation sounded familiar, and Rosela had a feeling it was one of those things, like gnosis marks, that she'd learned about as a child and had forgotten the details of. Something to do with people falling out of the sky...

Leth's daughter. Rosela put a hand to her chin as she tried to remember anything about the Ethaefel, and suddenly realized she was being studied in turn. She blushed and broke into a wide smile, flapping a hand modestly. "Oh stop, you sweetheart..." The flattery clearly had an effect though, and she moved to lean more casually against the wall. "Listen honey, my shop's just up the road a bit. You come on in, tell me a bit about yourself, and I'll give you a good discount on a cute dress. What do you say?"

She was holding her robe. She could even tell it was clearly ugly. She sighed but also smiled. Spending some money on a new cloth wouldn't be bad. And discount, that was a great chance for her. "So be it!" She nodded on her. "Oh... can I know your name?" She also asked.

Then she walked the way where Rosela said. She was also thinking what to tell her. "About Myself.. about myself..." She was murmuring to herself. She wanted to be careful what to say and also not something boring. But she didn't know, hiding her things from Rosela won't remain secret from her. "Well, as I said I'm the daughter of Leth, I also hold his mark. And.. " Thoughts hardly came. "And...Oh I change everyday and night. As you could see my other form... Oh and my colors! I mean my horn's and hair's color change with the season!" She quickly came up with the seasonal color changing as she didn't really want to talk about her earthbound form. She couldn't be sure what Rosela thought.

"Well ask me, what else do you want to know?" She smiled and she also looked at Rosela's shop when they arrived. Only the Moon's shine could light everything and Eida had to look closely and had to focus to see through the window. She could see some clothes, and she didn't see it well, but even by the sight she was amazed. They looked beautiful. "You made that all by yourself? They look so pretty."

Rosela hopped a little in excitement as her new customer agreed. Discounts usually did the trick; nobody could resist a good deal.

The air was quiet as they walked, with little other than the quiet clap-clap of their footsteps and the murmur of their voices. "You change every day and night? And every season on top of that? Do both...forms change every season? Or just this form?" She glanced up at her horns, suddenly jealous. There were so few accessories that could be made for the head, especially with her desire to keep her hair down.

Rosela stepped ahead to unlock the door, glancing in with Eida at the shadowed wares inside. Akajia's mark allowed her to see past the shadows that seemed to quiver and look back at them, and she saw only the now-familiar sight of her store. "I did, thank you. I run the shop by myself."

Stepping inside, she held the door open for her guest then swiftly moved to her desk then to the candlebra in the center of the room, moving quickly and easily through the dark. A few strikes of the flint and stone and a single candle flared to life. Picking it up delicately in another hand, she carefully lit all of the others. The candlebra wouldn't be enough to fully illuminate the store at night, but it would be enough. "So," she started, putting the flint box back on the desk. "How about you tell me what kind of dress you're looking for, and how you came to do the...changing thing. Were you born with it happening, or did it just kick in at some point?" There came the slightly horrific thought of a baby sprouting horns in the womb every single night. but Rosela brushed it off after a moment. If gods were involved, they surely would have accounted for such a thing, right?

"Yes every day and night and every season. The seasonal change is only for my ethaefal form." She nodded and was excited to step into the shop.

A shop only full of Rosela's work. Even though her race had multiple arms it was still an amazing and hard job. She couldn't see anything in the dark when she stepped in but the little candle gave a little light. It wasn't clear but beautiful and more beautiful clothes were around her. She was carefully touching them. The touch was so great, she would lie her head to it.

But she went with Rosela to a desk where she put a box. She was shaking her head while she answered. "I wasn't actually borned. I fell last year. I felt I was falling, and when I openned my eyes I just remember I was sinking down in The Suvan Sea. Alone, naked in the sea... I knew nothing." She sighed. It was still a horible memory for her. "And as I said I'm not a kelvic. This form changing is not what I do willingly. It just happens. Since I'm Leth's daughter, whenever he is at the sky like now I'm at my ethaefal form, when Syna comes up I'm in my symenestra form. If somebody Syna's child their ethaefal form would be at when Syna is up." She was looking around and was trying to think what cloth to choose. It was troublesome. "Well... I'm not sure. I just want something... natural. I also like the nature you know. "

"You fell? Literally fell out of the sky? I thought that was just...you know, a metaphor." Rosela found the thought disquieting, one's first memory being to fall into the sea. Being that she herself couldn't swim, the idea was doubly unpleasant. It made sense though, Ethaefel. Leth's children who fell. "So you don't remember anything from before you woke up in the ocean? And not all Ethaefel change into Symentestra during the day?" She wasn't entirely certain what a Symenestra was, and made a mental note to pursue that line of questioning in due time. She itched to know why Leth had seen fit to drag her up there just to drop her in the sea, but it seemed insensitive to ask. She'd have to work up to that one.

"Natural... Well, lets see." Switching gears, she looked around the shop, then back at Eida, putting one hand under her chin. "We want something that matches both forms, though your other form was really pale, right? So no big prints, they'll just make you look washed out. You could actually pull it off with your, um, Ethaefel form," One hand waved vaguely to indicate her current state. "But unless you're going to rush home in between changes, we'll find something that works with both." Personally, she'd take the effort to run home and change, but not everyone was as meticulous about matching their look. Humming thoughtfully, she moved towards the casual dress section.

"A nice cotton dress is probably in order, in maybe one of the pastels..." She trailed off as she sifted through the stacks, seeing the colors perfectly in the shadows. "Oh, a nice pale green. Or yellow." They were very summer-oriented colors, and would go nicely with both forms. "Here, we have a couple styles you might like..."

Staying away from anything too stylish, she picked three cotton dresses and moved to lay them in the light so Eida could see. The first was fairly simple, sleeveless with a fitted bust and a high empire waistline falling in waves to shin-length. The second was similar, but the bust was looser and more casual and instead of a waistline, it fell freely for the entire length. The third has thin straps over the shoulders and had a straight line feel to it, falling to ankle length in subtle folds.

She looked at Rosela like she was saying unpossible thing. Metaphor? She was thinking back what happened at that night. She was falling, she felt it. "What are you talking about? Where did you hear this?" It was unbelieveable for her. Falling... she remembered it, but... She couldn't think more because the next question had already came."Wh-hat? Ohh.. OOH! No.. Not all. Leth chose me in this form, because he.. did. I don't know why, at least I don't remember. He had his own reasons for it. But others have other forms, like I have seen one of Syna's chosen one, she was an eypharian like yourself at night time!" She winked at her.

She was just stading in one place and let Rosela to look around. She felt a little happy her heights doesn't change with her forms, even though her weights changes always. It was always weird, no matter how many times she changes. Hearing about what Rosela is saying she had no sense at all for fashion. She didn't use to it.

She was amazed by her arms."How can you work with that many arms?" Dumb question, but she was curious. But before she could get the answer she already picked clothes for her to choose. They were simple, but still pretty and for Eida they were perfect. She picked up the sleeveless with a fitted bust. She didn't take it on only put it on her body and looked down how it looks. She had to realize it was hard to tell this way if she likes it or not.

She looked back at the windows. Nobody was there."I would try them on. ONLY if you don't mind!"
