The Kelvic's fury ebbed away gradually as the Isur averted his flushed gaze, she even managed to brush off Kaie's provocative comment in an uncharacteristically nonchalant fashion. Although Ardea was no longer irate, Jervis' comment had vexed her. Would your reaction be any different if I were a man? Wrestling down the spiteful retort than balanced on the tip of her tongue, she resorted to simply raise one rather unimpressed eyebrow at the back of the man's head.
"That's alright," she replied tersely.

The nude woman's copper eyes moved to the cassock which he so willingly offered forwards. For a brief moment, the Kelvic wondere why he had placed trust in her with such ease, after all, he had just turned his back on a woman that he now knew had the ability to turn into a wild beast at any given moment. Should she accept the clothing? A long moment went by where she sincerely considered passing it up in a tenacious protest against foolish human customs. Besides, she would undoubtedly have to shift again once they crossed blades- or claws- with the thief. However, for Jervis' sake, she removed the cassock from his secure grasp.

"Thank you," she murmured, more softly than she had intended. Ardea gingerly slipped on the cassock. It wasn't her style, but evidently her exposed body was too much of a distraction for the Isur and they needed to focus as much as possible if they were to seek out the proposed kidnapper. Casting an imperceptible sideways glance at the Myrian, Ardea turned her attention back to the issue at hand... This... Woman?

Not that she was particularly interested in Kaie's former prey, gods knew she didn't need another petching person to have to place some form of trust in. No, Ardea would have been much more content with the woman gone back to wherever it was she came from. But Vanari seemed to trust her and if the woman could help find the Pycon, then it was surely worth tolerating her for a few chimes. Releasing a drawn-out sigh, the Kelvic padded towards Vanari and the woman. Her dispute with Kaie had been mostly forgotten now that this new being was here. The kelvic supposed that the Myrian woman liked this Ethaefel about as much as Ardea did, which was not at all.

Suddenly, Ardea became aware of another animal amongst them, her nostrils flared as she drank in its scent. In one jerky movement, she twisted and stared right at the horse. Just as she began eyeing it hungrily, a predatory glint in her darkened eyes, Vanari's words reached her alert ears. Grudgingly removing her glare from the animal, Ardea looked over at Vanari, who was standing over some sort of feathered creature. Swiftly forgetting the horse, Ardea moved towards the bird, watching vigilantly as the Vantha cut a slit in the bag.

Her mind wandered slightly, eyeing up the bird and trying to determine whether or not it would make a decent meal- perhaps with that salt. Wait... Salt! The kelvic's friend seemed to have the same realisation. A message?
"Did you see anything?" Ardea questioned, already primal adrenaline was beginning to flow back into her veins. Anticipation brimmed at the edges of her thoughts, soon, her teeth would sink into the vulnerable flesh of the thief's form. Petch, she could already taste the salty blood on the tip of her tongue and it served only to make her crave the satisfaction more.

"Oh so now we hesitate and ask questions first before jumping the enemy? Did you fall on your petching head when Leth ditched you from the sky? If you're so petching wise, how about I just send you back where you came from and--"

Kaie dropped into a low crouch as soon as her senses picked up the projectile's presence. By the time the strange object had landed, her gladius was drawn and her eyes were staring up into the canopy. Over head she saw the dark figure running along the branches with surprising ease...And speed. It unnerved her in a way she couldn't quite describe. More so, the being raced along the branches with practiced grace. Before she could even think to give a shyke about whatever was thrown their way, the Myrian was after them.

Sprinting off in the direction of bouncing branches overhead, Kaie was desperately trying to chase down the mystery figure. Despite her speed and ability to navigate over easily missed roots and stones, ultimately the person managed to escape. Soon enough the bouncing branches were far gone. Way too far forward for her to catch up and identify the culprit. With a feral growl she finally turned back. All the ground could hear was the crashing of metal upon wood. Perhaps even a sharp snap as a low branch was angrily torn down. Eventually, Kaie returned with a feral growl from the bowels of the darkness. Her composure now restored despite having been so close to catching the idiot who made them all run a bump in the night.

"Hey, Kelvic, is that nose on you just for show or is it capable of picking up something?" Kaie asked a bit tensely though most of her frustration was directed at herself rather than the red head. Still, if she couldn't keep track of their tree hopping thief, maybe a tiger could. Really she just wanted to find the hooded bandit as quickly as possible.

Let's just find this guy and get it over with...

[Pavi Lake] Chasing The Salt Thief

Postby Jervis Hill on September 1st, 2013, 5:06 am

Jervis didn't turn around until she had taken the clothing and he heard the rustling of her putting it on, even when he did he kept his eyes firmly on the ground in obvious shame.

"No thank you Ardea, for accepting my humble apology. I shouldn't be looking at naked maidens. The cassock is easy to cast off if you find the need to remove it to transform if you only do up a couple of the center toggles." Jervis mumbled loudly enough to be heard over Kaie's berating of the new woman, a tone in his voice subtly suggested he understood what destroying your clothing with a transformation was like.

Shortly after his words, action exploded around the group again with something appearing to be launched at the group and Kaie tore off after him into the woods. Jervis took a step to chase but stopped himself realizing the kind of fighter she was from the way she attacked Tressabelle. Following her would slow her down or worse cause her to lose him with his crashing around. Still he wanted to help the warrior to earn her respect so he trotted over to the edge of the woods, listening intently for the sounds of battle before he would follow.

The only sounds he heard after a few tense moments someone coming back through the bush, presumably Kaie alone as he failed to hear anyone thrashing about from being pulled along by the hair. Jervis returned to stand with the others making it half way before Kaie returned from the darkness.

"Hey, Kelvic, is that nose on you just for show or is it capable of picking up something?" Kaie asked a bit tensely

Jervis didn't know what else to do so he stopped moving and looked to Ardea, wondering if perhaps Kaie's suggestion was meant to be helpful or provoke Ardea again and awaiting an answer as he had no idea's of his own at this point.

[Pavi Lake] Chasing The Salt Thief

Tessabelle watched the Myrian run off after a dark figure she happened to see at the last minute. He dropped some salt and that just seemed a bit off."Are you sure this isn't someone you know? This seems more like a game than a kidnapping." She told the group. When Kaie returned and asked the Kelvic about her nose Tessabelle thought she had something.

"So you have a piece of his clothing?" She asked the Myrian. Surely she'd know the tiger can't sniff the salt and know where he is because the smell of salt was every where. If he didn't leave anything behind you can't chase after him. Her heart went out to the victim(If this Pycona is a victim and not just apart of this game), if she were really in danger they'd have to think things through. This group seem to be ahead on their stuff and act very fast. Kaie proved how fast she thinks. But if they don't take a minute to think, this mystery won't be solved so fast, sadly.

If I were a thief, I wouldn't even think of leaving a trail, not even a hint of where I'm keeping the pycon. Unless I want to mislead the group."It's a scam." She mumbled. She was never the brightest person in the would. She wasn't the strongest either. But she just knew there was something off about this thief. Well she thought, she doesn't know because there was still a possibility it wasn't what she thought it was.

[Pavi Lake] Chasing The Salt Thief

Ardea scowled fervently at Kaie in answer to her question, obviously the Kelvic's human nose was equally as pathetic and useless as the others'. Picking out the scent of the thief, who undoubtedly had the odour of one that had lived by the Pavi Lake their entire life, would be much harder than distinguishing that of an out-of-place Vantha who posessed a scent that Ardea's bestial form was familiar with. Nevertheless, no-one else appeared to have a better idea. Huffing grudgingly, the Kelvic slipped off the cassock with practised swiftness and ease and shifted into a blaze of bedazzling lights.

Now, where an exposed woman had stood only moments before, a tiger was poised. The beast's form was somewhat less rigid than before, the aurous now lying smoothly over her hackles and spine. After all, the tigress was not currently attempting to slaughter anyone. Ardea moved towards the bird-like creature with a fluid, feline grace, a truly majestic aura surrounding her refined form. Lowering her broad head, she drank in the creature's scent. Well, what had she expected? It smelt of rotting bird and salt. In fact, everything smelt like salt. But there was something else in its odour, something that Ardea couldn't quite place her finger on.

However this additional scent was masked well, deep beneath the others, an underlying tone only. For a moment or two, she allowed the revolting odour to dwell in the back of her nose. The cogs turned slowly, attempting to pick up something that she could actually use, but to no avail. Just to be sure, Ardea bounded a short way into the tree-line. However, as expected, there were no unusual scents, nothing that she could track or pursue. Whoever this human, if it was indeed human, was, they knew what they were doing. Slightly, unnerved, Ardea returned to the shoreline.

It was obvious, at least to the Kelvic, from her body language that she had not found anything. She wouldn't have come back if she had. The Kelvic stifled a vexed growl, she would have shifted back into her human form, but her djed was drained from her former transformations and another would surely exhaust her. The inability to shift into her predatory form would not at all be ideal. So, for now, the others would just have to learn to deal with being accompanied by an overly large tigress and her claws.

Notes :
Kaie, this paragraph here

Kaie had been moving steadily and at a quick pace. Guiding the ragtag group through the Cobalt Mountains she had spent the last three years residing in. She knew where each spot was...

Aren't you really exaggerating her Wilderness Survival skills and lores? If you're like Ama who has 80 in Wilderness Survival then it's fiting, but Kaie is competent she knows everything there? Unlikely unless you do a ton of flashbacks and work up to it. So, please try to mind when to use exaggerating statements in the future.

Overall, you need to tone down how you describe Kaie's badass-ness, she's not there yet. The only skill you have on Expert is Observation. If you're like Razkar who has a multitude of Master and Expert combat skills, then you can describe her like you do in this thread.

Also, this has been discussed among STs as well. Kaie has only basic in Common yet she speaks so articulately like a Fluent. I suppose you need to tone it down a bit, avoid using advanced words and sentences while she's speaking Common.

This case of overplaying her overall abilities and description is not your first case. I'm giving you XP penalty for it, Kaie.

Also, I wonder what kind of creature Ardea killed... She needs to deduct her summer living expenses and hasn't log in a while too. When she decides to come back, I'll give her grades.

Overall, I'm rather confused with the pacing of this thread, Jervis' double post, rather convoluted flow, etc... I gave what I could.

My radiance is not bright enough?
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your grade, beam me a PM and we can work it out. :)
