For Hadyn

Lona continued to curse to herself and aloud as she looked around for the doctor who was supposed to stay put. She was more than pissed now, this hadn't been a good idea from the start, but she had made her decision to help the woman and save her life. From what she knew, Orion had been the best choice to help with this, and now he had run off. It wasn't working, the plan was failing, and she didn't have the time to take Hadyn back to the city. Elijah was already angry, deranged, and bossing her around, and she knew that he wouldn't take kindly to her being late again.

"Are you even looking?" she yelled back to Hadyn and continued on in her own direction. In truth, the wounded woman was starting to get on her nerves and if she had known she would be so chatty, she wouldn't have allowed her to remove the gag. "You!" she snarled and darted towards the woman quickly. "Just be glad that I saved your sorry hide. Now you help me find this petchin doctor or I'll do you both in!"

After yelling at Hadyn Lona turned away and searched the ground again for prints. It was at this point that she thought and realized what Hadyn had said before she started to curse her. "Where?" the woman quickly turned and found the tracks that Hadyn had found. It was hard to see far off into the distance, but there was a trail. "Get back on the horse and hurry up."

For Shiress

Tuiler felt strong now, he was in charge, and although there was only person in the camp that he had to look out for, it was enough to make his chest swell. There was also Shiress, what a fun little thing she was. If his boss put such stock in the woman, then she had to be more than just a cozy hole to snug his pecker in. Tuiler would do his job and make sure that his boss would be pleased with him. Perhaps in doing so, he would get rewarded later on. But that all changed when..

"Hey! The hell you going?"

He caught sight of Shiress stumbling towards the tree line. Tuiler saw it all fading away, his boss would never trust him again if he let his prize escape. More to that point..he would likely kill him. Putting everything he had into his legs, Tuiler raced after Shiress.

For Orion

Anpeff was having a hard time, he even dozed off somewhere in the forest, where he found the firmness of a tree trunk to be very similar to that of his own bedding. Standing up again, still a bit out of it he stumbled forward and out into the clearing where.."Petch!" He flung himself back into the bushes to hopefully escape Orion's eyes, but if he did or not, he wasn't sure. Standing again, he pushed his back against the tree and waited to see what would happen.

OOCOkay all, I will be taking over this thread now that Philomena has left miz.

With desperate and painful steps, Shiress pushed forward seeking refuge in the deep shadows of the forest, her path hidden by the haze veiled moonlight and dwindling campfire. The sound of her own stumbling footsteps was all the girl could hear as fear shifted to determination. She hadn't died in the forest running from her master a season before and she won't die now under his hand.

Steps before she would disappear into the shadows of the forest, a voice rang out from behind her. She stopped abruptly, spinning around with a gasp as fear filled eyes blindly scanned the darkness. She turned again and sprung forward clutching her side as pain from the sudden movement radiated through her midsection. Dread sunk into her chest as she drove herself harder and faster toward the tree line.

Shiress raced passed the trees and into the forest, thick brush and depris littering the forest floor scratching and scraping her legs relentlessly making the her struggle to remain on her feet. She knew she couldn't get far, she knew she had to hide. Shiress lowered herself to her hands and knees and crawled as deep into a thicket as she could and began searching the ground around her for a weapon. Her hand skimmed over a rock and she quickly wrapped her fingers around it and drew in a long deep breath and held it as her body froze rigid and still, the echo of her pounding heart playing out like drums in her head.

Back on the horse? This was petching ridiculous! Absolutely nonsense! Hadyn had half a mind to deck the woman. She probably should've. But there was something about this bird that made the weaponsmith pause in her flight of violence. She had helped her escape the Worm, Jordan. And she did seem somewhat committed to continuing in her half-assed attempt at depositing Hadyn with this supposed doctor. Some doctor. Wandering off and getting himself lost. A damn fool more like.

Grumbling obscenities under her breath, the brunette approached her companion narrow horse, hauling herself into the saddle with a groan. Everything hurt and the movement only caused further torment. She was half inclined to ask if she could just lay down and wait for the doctor to become un-lost. Anything would be better than riding. Biting her lower lip against a sting of pain emanating from where she'd been kicked, Hadyn waited feverishly for Lona to join her.

"Y'sure y'got a doctor an' not a simpleton?"
she muttered, gathering the reins up loosely in tired hands. "Stupid sodder, isn't he? losin' himself in the forest like this."

It was absurd, carrying on a conversation with this crazy bitch. But it kept Hadyn from slipping into the welcoming arms of sleep and passing the petch out from the ordeal. She hardly cared what the woman thought, barely hearing her own words as they issued forth, just holding on to a tenuous grip with consciousness.

"So what exactly can I do to get you to move you piece of crap?" Orion moved along slowly, the horse barely moving along. No amount of rein work or kicking seemed to get them anywhere, but at least they were moving. Orion was about at his wits end with this beast. "You want a carrot? An apple? Well tough, I've got shyke for you. Just go. Go. Go. Go. Go."

Still nothing.

This stupid horse would give nothing to him. Grasping the reins in his hands, Orion just tried to lead the animal on forward, towards where the sound came from. His legs tightly clamped against the horse in an attempt to guide it with his leaning, though was far from talented at it. It was a pain on the muscles, and guiding a horse took more out of him and forced him to use muscles he didn't even know he had. Was he really going to have to deal with these bastards the entirety of his career with the knights? Gods be good, he would end up with a manageable creature that he could actually work with, rather than struggle around every turn.

Before he could continue berating the horse, that's when he saw the stranger, trying to hide, likely from him. Orion wasn't sure what this guy was doing out here all alone, or trying to hide from him, someone clearly clad in a way which would define him as one of the knights. There was only way to find out, and if he was going to confront the man, he was going to do so spectacularly. It played out like a story in his head.

Reality would laugh at that notion.

It was simple, draw his sword, challenge the man, and advance on him.

Out his sword came without issue.

"Stay where you are! Why are you hiding?"

Done.

Now let's go, horse.

Orion gave the stubborn beast a kick. The horse came to a complete stop. He wanted to scream. No, he wanted to jump off its back and cut the petcher in half with a swipe from his blade. Hate. Hate. Hate.

Orion nearly fell to the ground as he awkwardly through his leg over its back and jumped to the ground. He clearly couldn't rely on his transport to get the job done. He advanced on the man. If he ran, Orion would do the same.

Wasn't I supposed to be doing something else?

. . .

Oh well.

For Shiress

"Hey! Hey!" Tuiler called out, and with each yell it started to sound more desperate. The forest was dark at night, and what he raced into was nothing short of blinding darkness. If he had been thinking at all before he burst into action, he would have gotten a torch or a lantern to light his way. But he didn't and now he was just as blind as Shiress was.

"Hey! Come on..."

He complained and continued on into the wooded area and spinning himself around so many times it was hard to tell which way he had come from. "Look, it's over. You not gettin away. So just come out and I won't hurt ya." From where Shiress hid, she would see that his back was turned to her. With a quick run towards him she could bash him over the head, or she could try and sneak off in the other direction.

For Hadyn

Lona took another look around after ordering Hadyn back on the horse. She couldn't believe that the man was gone so soon. Didn't he care? These were his people not hers, and he didn't want to save them? "No, no..your fellow better hold up his end. I'm not doing this for myself, and.." she paused for a moment, hearing a voice whispering into the air from a distance.

"You hear that? That better be him or I'll..." Lona jumped on the horse with the grace of a bull, taking the reins and starting off in the direction of the sound. "And you, you better still be alive when we get there." The two rode hard and fast, covering as much ground as they could in hopes of getting to where they needed to be as quickly as possible.

For Orion

"Petchin..grrrr!"

Anpeff cursed and peeked out again. He hadn't been fast enough, likely because of his wounds, and the man had seen him. He thought over his options, but everything went out the window when he looked out again and saw the man coming towards him. Deciding to run for it, Anpeff put all he had into his legs and raced off. He felt light headed still, his heartbeat already pumping too fast with a dizzy wobble, the man passed out face first on the ground.

OOCDon't worry, we're getting there.

[Guest ST][Shiress] Without a Quicker Blood

All Shiress could do was wait, consumed in darkness, and listen as the sound of crunching and crushing brush beneath heavy boots grew louder and her pursuer grew closer and closer until, finally he paused in a menacing silence, listening for any sound she might make. He stood only a footstep from where she hid, his moans and groans of frustration through heavy breaths filled the small space surrounding her.

Then, the silence shattered as the man called out, his voice riddled with desperation and tinged with fear. "Look, its over. You're not getting away. So just come out and I won't hurt you." forcing her eyes closed, she quieted a fearful gasp with her hand and waited for the man's arm to snatch her from her sanctuary, but he moved passed her and the sound of heavy footsteps moved away. At length, she stirred, drew in a much needed shaky breath and crawled out from beneath the brush and stood slowly, hoping the man wouldn't hear her and the sound of her movements would mingle with his own.

The moon was high now, its light unveiled and falling gently down through the treetops allowing Shiress to see her pursuer enough through the dim light to tell his back was turned to her. Her eyes shifted hesitantly to her left toward the tree line from where she had fled. A quick bolt in that direction and she could run, but could she out run the man that hunted her? She slid around and pressed her back against a tree, her thoughts were conflicted and confused. There was no running from this merciless beast, he'd catch her before she had the chance to exit the forest. He'd hurt her, but he wouldn't kill her for fear of Elijah Jordan's rath, or so she hoped. For once, logic prevailed over fear and Shiress knew what she had to do and shifted swiftly into survival mode.

Stepping out, she drew in another breath. "Dont hurt me." She said, holding up one hand between herself and the man as she eased the other behind her back, hiding the would be weapon from the man's sight. The hunter spun around on his heel, a sinister smile spreading across his lips. "There you are." he said, taking a step toward her. "Thought you could outsmart me, huh? Come m'ere, bitch" He lunged forward and grabbed her arm, twisted her around and began to pull her back toward the camp. Fueled by both fear and courage, Shiress resisted and pulled hard against the man's tight grip and leaned her body as she drew back the rock and, using all the strength she had left, swung her arm around and slammed it against the side of the man's head. The fierce blow sent both bodies plummeting to the ground, the man landing limp and motionless.

After finally realising she had met her mark, Shiress quickly pulled herself over the mans unconscious body and raised the rock high above her head, closed her eyes and slammed it down as hard as she could against his knee then quickly tossed it aside. Tears streamed down the girls face as she painfully scrambled to her feet and turned away, leaving her pursuer limp and motionless behind her. She stepped slow and cautiously back into the camp, her eyes nervously darting around as she stepped further out into the opening. Once convinced the camp was still abandoned, she turned for the pathway opposite of the campsite from where she stood, staying close to the edge of the forest to quickly dart back
into the shadows of the trees if she needed to.

Petch it all. Hadyn could only hold on to the pommel of the saddle, focusing doggedly on staying on the horse. Under normal circumstance the weaponsmith was a fairly decent rider. Under the strain of this ordeal it was a miracle she didn't end up beneath the pounding hooves. She half wondered if she ought to put herself out of misery - doctor be damned.

But she held on, some primordial desire to stay alive ruining any chance of simply letting go and detaching herself from the crazy bitch. Perhaps it was fueled by an instinct to protect Shiress - though she wasn't doing much on that score. Gritting her teeth Hadyn gripped the saddle and prayed for a swift end.

That was unexpected.

Orion pumped his arms and legs, closing the distance between him and the now passed out stranger. Orion’s feet pounded against the dirt, armor noisily clanking as he approached him. Gods, this armor is a pain to run in. It was hardly built for pursuit on feet. Everything burned in just the short distance he was sprinting. Just put one foot after the other, that’s all he had to do. Well, he needed to figure out why this man was lurking alone in the woods. ”Said the man who was lurking alone in the woods..”

Heart racing, sweat pouring, and mouth dry, Orion arrived at the side of the man, breathing heavily. ”What are you doing you little petcher?” Orion muttered quietly to himself, wiping the thin layer of sweat from his brow before preparing to assess the man. He started by performing a  quick check to ensure the man didn’t have some injury he was unaware of.  He placed his ear right by the man’s mouth, looking down his chest to check for breathing. The warm air against his ear and rhythmic rising and lowering of his chest confirmed a breathing patient with no blocks in his airway that would make him believe he was having issues there. Orion then tore of his gauntlets, placing them on the ground beside him. Taking the man’s hands in his, he checked to make sure they weren’t discolored, cold or anything along those lines. Everything looked good to go. So it was time for step two.

Slap!

Orion delivered a firm smack to the man’s face, trying to rouse him from his sudden slumber. ”You’re almost as annoying as that stupid ass horse. Wake up. Wake. Up.” He needed to get back to where he’d come from. That troublesome woman had told him to stay put, but he couldn’t just wait around when there was some odd man watching them and running, could he. ”Who are you? What are you doing out here alone? So help me if you tell me you were just out for a walk..”

Orion eyed his sword and looked back to the man, trying to bring him back amongst the aware as best he could. He should have just stayed in Syliras and enjoyed a good drink. What exactly was in this for him, again? I’m so stupid sometimes..

Regardless of the man's reaction, he was going to get him up on that horse and get him heading on back to where he was meant to be. It was less of him caring about the man, but more him going to war with the petching beast. If he could get him on the back of that creature, victory was his. Grabbing an arm and a leg, Orion began to lug the man slowly across the ground over to where the horse was lazily grazing, paying no attention to Orion.

Shiress

Tuiler was down, not dead, but out cold and once he woke up, he would have a swollen knee. The bone didn't break but it did crack, and for a big guy this was even worse to try and stand on. But for now, he was out and his sleep might lead him all the way to Dira once Elijah learns of his failure. Meanwhile the crazy old man and his thugs made their way back to the camp. Whatever the noise was turned out to be nothing, or the sound of Tuiler yelling called them back first. Either way they hurried back to the camp site just in time to see Shiress wandering down into the forest.

"There she is!" Nall called out catching sight of the woman before anyone else.

Elijah took another moment to find her, his fever growing worse and dulling his sense, but when he did spot her, the old goat cursed and shoved Nall forward. "Don't stand there, get that bitch!"

Hetty was a slower mover, but she continued forward after Nall and Elijah raced towards the woman, weapons drawn.

Orion

Anpeff was in a dream world at the moment and completely unaware of the squire coming towards him. He dreamed of something sweet, something about a young woman in Syliras that he couldn't have. But it was all taken away as Orion slapped the taste from his mouth.

"Agh!"

The boy woke up, arms flailing as he tried to make sense of it all. Once he did though, the boy clammed up and refused to speak, only grunting as he tried to pull away from the squire. He wrestling himself away as hard as he could, while one of his hands went for the dagger at his belt.

Hadyn

Lona rode hard, and cursed aloud. That made the second yell that she had heard in a short matter of time. This whole thing was coming undone, and she realized that if she was going to do something, she had to do it now. Then she saw them, struggling against each other beside a horse. It was the doctor who fled, and Anpeff as well.

"Damnit! The fuck can I do now?"

Anpeff wasn't on her side, she couldn't trust him, and now he was in a fight with the wandering doctor. How could things go so wrong? And the other yell that she heard, was that from the camp? Lona slowed the horse and got off, leaving Hadyn where she was for the moment as she tried to think on her feet.

"Anpeff, you got him?!"

Focused completely on putting one foot in front of the other, Shiress hadn't noticed that her master and demonic followers had returned. For a split tick the girl thought the voice that rang out was that of the man she had just rendered unconscious and slumped amongst the trees. The second voice, however, abruptly planted her feet in place, sending long locks of hair sweeping across her shoulders and face. The obedient slave stirred within having heard her masters voice.

Shiress turned her head slightly, but her eyes remained forward, locked in a determined glare on the clearing in the trees. Fists clinched, heart pounding, lips parted as heavy breaths pulled in and blew out the hair that laid over them.

Move.. Shiress..Go!

Shiress was frozen, locked in place by fear forced upon her by cruel actions of a heartless man. She had escaped her slave master and now fought to escape the fear of him.

Just run..go..Hadyn..find Hadyn

"Hadyn!" She screamed as she bolted forward. A strike of sharp pain overtook the dull ache in her midsection as she put her body in motion. Her feet pounded the earth as she pushed harder and faster toward the clearing.
