The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Den of the Lost

Also known as Rostam's Lair, this is but a nickname that has come to be used for the eccentric spiritist's abode and workspace. Located in a small apartment on the Sartu Peak, not far from Elena Lariet's studio, the Den is completely unremarkable when seen from the outside, save for the tattoo-like Myrian design carved into the door. Beyond the door, a strange scene unfolds - an incredibly messy room, packed from floor to ceiling by all kinds of trinkets and artifacts, both mundane and magical.

The air is permeated by the unfamiliar aromas of foreign herbs. A visitor would need to watch their step carefully so as not to trip on the various objects that litter the ground, or tip over any the voluminous beakers and bottles that crowd the tables. The dust-covered windows let through only a minimum amount of light, turning the room into a theater of dark silhouettes.

If a visitor is nimble enough not to get stuck in the chaotic arrangement, nor get tangled in the chains of crystal beads hanging from the ceiling, they would pass by an altar covered in greasy candles and eerie pieces of bone and leather. Finally, at the far wall, is the relatively well-lit main desk, as cluttered as everywhere else in the apartment. The familiar smell of faint blood and the foreign scent of faded soulmist linger around it, reminding the visitor as to why they came here.

Rostam is a Myrian spiritist that settled in Lhavit several years ago. When asked why he chooses to stay, he will say that he likes the city's "egalitarian ways," which sounds convincing enough to anyone who has at least a vague understanding of the Myrian society that he abandoned. Other than that, he shares little about his past and his real reasons for coming here.

His small apartment on the Sartu Peak serves both as his workplace and residence, showing that he cares nothing about prestigious appearances. Despite his shabby outer appearance, he is highly regarded as a spiritist, offering rare services both to the living and the dead. His workings of malediction are far more obscure, as he rarely talks about it, but he might be willing to share some of his techniques with those he trusts or with fellow practitioners of the art.

He is a very disorganized person, and his home shares many characteristics with the jungle he came from. It is his natural environment and doesn't hinder him, but raises many eyebrows of more proprietary wizards. Rostam is not an academic mind and does everything hands-on, both at work and in private. Even towards complete strangers, he adopts an informal and teasing attitude, often failing to observe basic etiquette, although never to the point of breaking the unwritten rules of the society he lives in. While both his appearance and mannerisms reflect his savage roots, they carry with them an exotic charisma.

Rostam's talent as a mage, along with his savvy nature, has earned him some respect among the established magical circles of Lhavit, allowing him to mesh with the finer social fabric of the city. More specifically, the foreign eccentric has a strange friendship with Elena Lariet. The two can sometimes be seen engaging in satirical chatter in her studio, but a perceptive onlooker will recognize that their relationship is deeper than that, though in unclear ways.

Most commonly, weapons or pieces of armour are imbued, but the same can be done with nearly any other portable object, or even one of the customer's bodyparts - their hand, for example.

Customers are responsible for bringing their own weapons and armour to be infused. Beads and nails are provided by Rostam.

Soulmist meal (Rostam's blood): 10 kina or a service of equal value
Soulmist meal (Ghost's request): 25 kina or a service of equal value

Ingesting soulmist made of Rostam's blood will increase a single of the ghost's racial skills (the ghost chooses which) by one rank for seven days, though no higher than to Expert rank.

Ghosts may make requests of Rostam for soulmist made of a specific type of blood, provided it is not overly difficult to acquire. Upon ingesting it, the ghost will gain a portion of that creature's skills for seven days.

If you are unsure what sort of blood may be requested from Rostam or what favours may be asked of a ghost who has no way to pay Rostam in kina, ask your ST.
