The Scars (Sunberth PC Gang)

Postby Wrenmae on September 26th, 2013, 5:50 pm

Alright everyone, I'm getting nearer to the time when Wren will begin his IC group so I thought I'd throw out a line and see if folks were interested.

This is a long term PC driven group that may take awhile to really get off the ground. It really depends on PC initiative.

So here's the scoop.

The Scars takes its name from the remnants of the once great civilizations that lay in ruins around Mizahar. In comemoration of what once was, the Scars seek to rebuild what was lost...true civilization, true innovation, and true advancement. Built on the principle that the Strong will inherit the earth and drive its eventual development (It's Vayt, what can I say?), The Scars have a three part plan.

Gather and Infiltrate

Destabilize and Control

Rebuild and Conquer

Gather and Infiltrate is our very first goal...that means I need the curious and the interested. I will begin my plot in Sunberth and extend it to wherever I end up traveling. It's fairly simple. The first stage is about gathering important information...the movements of the gods, the marked, who is in control of various cities, the social and political structure, big events around Mizahar, etc. This information will be compiled and supplied to operatives in the various cities. It is through the exchange of information that a base of knowledge can begin to take form, used for the eventual stage 2.

Likewise this stage is about gathering skilled allies, useful contacts, artifacts, and other newly made magical items that show up on Mizahar. Obviously we have to fight against five hundred years of fairly slow and struggling growth...but very insular cities that have no real desire to assimilate.

So for this first part, that begins in Sunberth next season or the season after...I'm looking for skilled volunteers that want to be a part of a PC driven plot to attempt and rebuild the face of Mizahar or, at the least, become a powerful shadow organization that influences politics and decisions in various cities.

Now, given Wren's fun little Blight gnosis, I won't be sticking around to give our orders. Instead, I will be appointing leaders and relaying information to them either in person or by mail. I expect this to be a slow process at first, but one that could grow in momentum.

Will it work? Will it fail? Will it chaotically dissolve into infighting? The beauty of it is that we won't know till we actually do it IC.

So. Anyone interested in this plan or in making suggestions for the group? Granted, this all has to be reiterated IC...so if you give a suggestion, I hope I can meet you IC to receive it :P

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

If you make it to Zeltiva, Tsaba would be very interested in the whole 'restore the past' thing until she realises the possible negative consequences of the group's plan. If you want a wavering agent, she's available.

If Wrenmae ever makes it back to Sahova, this would be something Thomas would be interested in as well!

Hey, Wren!

I know we already discussed it prior to this, but I want to confirm Kaie's interest. She'll be back around Syliras by the middle of next season. Whether you wait for her there or they meet on the road, all works for me. Great ideas here and I can't wait to get started! :)

The Scars

Does an overriding devotion to Rhysol, as opposed to Vayt, exclude an infiltrator/poisoner from your ranks?

The IC issues you and I have experienced have not led to any major falling out, and Ino, while being cautious around you, would definitely recognize and acknowledge your leadership capability. He did not care for the methods you employed to ensure his pliability, but he respects your ruthless application of them. That the powerful should rule is definitely in line with his sensibilities.

The only reason he is so devoted to Rhysol is that he was the first major power to make a gesture showing that he valued Ino's abilities. This sort of basis is fairly easy to "turn".

But would he have to leave Ravok? With his shop there, he would be hesitant.

Not at all Ino. As the group needs to have a presence in every city, you may be paired or even take over the Scars operations in Ravok.

Recruiting, gathering, and working on stage one of the plan. A devotion to Rhysol is fine in the group, it works with the second phase of the plan which calls for chaos.

The Scars

Postby Crypt on September 30th, 2013, 5:05 pm

Interesting.

Power is what Crypt wants, but compromising his morals for it? He can stretch them, but he would prefer not to. In any case, I see him as taking more of a public role if he joins the organization. Crypt will be definitely in as long as it does not clash with Dira's agenda.

We do have a planned (now flashback) thread in Ravok, but I'm hoping to get a Familiar before I post the thread. So once I finally can do it, Wrenmae can pop the question.

Clears throat

Howdy, completely harmless friendly neighborhood wizard here. I noticed that equally harmless hero and nice guy Wrenmae put this up and figured I'd toss in my hat to such a noble and selfless organization. Perhaps we might schedule a meeting in the future, preferably on Sahova?
