Talber had heard enough, he truly had. The woman was obviously delusional after whatever they had done to her, and the other two were either drunk or just plan mad. Karu's explanation of being a kelvic did explain why he was running around naked, but what the naive kelvic had just done was put himself in more danger than he was before. Kelvics weren't known to have the best minds, nor were that all they trustworthy.

"The Rogue Knight? Are you all fools?" the question was more stated towards Ethan as Erin was out of her mind and no one cared what the kelvic had to say. "Enough, I think time in the tank will refresh your memory, and if not...then I shall deal with you myself. Take them."

The Knights first collected Ethan and Karu and took them, while Talber's second took care to lift the injured woman. The men were taken directly to the tanks, where they were placed in cells opposite the other which would keep them from fight. Since Karu had told everyone that he was kelvic, Talber saw fit to place a kelvic collar around his neck to keep him from shifting before he locked him away.

Erin was taken to see a healer, who took care of the stab wound and dressed her head. The rusted sword would have caused poison to her blood, but the healer was able to prevent that as well as any serious scaring to the woman's head. The sword wound would heal within days, but there would be a scar where she had been stabbed, a reminder of what happened. Her head would also be okay since she had the mind to roll off the table before burns set in.

A bell and a half later after she had rested, Erin was brought to the tank and placed in the one opposite Karu. From there, the three were left to get their story straight before Talber returned.

Erin was extremely grateful to the Knights that took her to the healer. She was happy to hear that she would make a complete recovery but was crushed that the scars would be permanent. She had gone through so much to avoid such things in the past. She lightly touched at it, close to tears, but took a deep breath and tried to get over it. They let her rest there with the healer for some time before they came to take her to her cell. At first she protested, genuinely confused why she would be being arrested, but decided it best to simply cooperate. She was kind to the Knights that escorted her to the Tank. She was also sure to remind them several times that she was injured. Not by directly saying it of course but by stumbling every now and then, commenting on her first real injury, and complaining about how bad her singed hair looked. When they got to her cell she noticed Karu and Ethan in the cells adjacent and across from her own but said nothing. When she was finally placed inside she thanked the Knights then sat down and waited for them to leave.

Once they had moved out of earshot she walked to the bars of her cell and directed her voice straight over to Ethan's cell. "Hey can you hear me?" she said rather calmly. "This is your fault. I want you to know that. That this is all your fault." She continued on without giving him a moment to reply. "When the Knights come back tell them what happened, about the giant psychopath, but don't mention I used magic. You got that? Just focus on the important parts of the story. If you say anything to get me held in here any longer than I have to be I will take you down with me."

She turned her attention more to Karu. "I have been stabbed, beaten, and almost burned alive tonight so I don't think It's too much for me to ask for you to not have me imprisoned as well." She starred at Karu, waiting for his response.
"Everything is invincible...until it dies."

Will Magic For Food

Postby Ethan Ironhorse on September 30th, 2013, 2:47 am

Ethan went to the tank looking down at the paved floors of Syliras. Ethan was forced to swallow not only the injustice of the fact that he had reported a crime in good faith, but that the knight didn’t want to hear the truth, only a lie that fit his own thoughts. At times it was insanity that worked at cross purposes here in Syliras. The truth was that a man dressed in older armor with a rusty sword had sliced open Erin and then made off with her, attempting to kill the girl at Li Maurta. Yet the knight had told the group his thoughts, he thought them drunk and playing at something. In Syliras, the knighthood was the final say in all matters of order and law, but in the end they were men and women that didn’t need to think beyond the obvious, because most of the time it was just that simple. It didn’t stop the hatred of the Knighthood as the cell door was closed and Ethan would have to at least spend the night in the tank.

Ethan stood in the cell looking at Karu as they put the collar on the man. Ethan hung his head low, thinking… By Tyveth, the truth was that it had been the Rogue Knight! Granted I would have problems believing it, but that’s the God’s blessed truth. Ethan in his anger shaked the bars with all his strength, thinking on how if he could he would beat that knight senseless, finally as he settled down, Ethan thought about the situation, he just needed to come up with something plausible. Looking over at the Kelvic, he couldn’t believe that the misfortune of tonight. Ethan and Karu were alone, Erin hadn’t showed up yet, and so Ethan decided to at least get his story straight with the Kelvic. “Listen Karu, the knight wants to hear we were drunk and didn’t see a knight. We tell him that we were coming out of the Broken Casket heading back to our rooms and saw the girl being stabbed by a large dark figure. We didn’t get a good look at him, but since we had been drinking and people were telling tales of the Knight we thought it was him. We followed the two to Li Maurta and lost them. It’s enough of the truth that Erin’s wounds will look right and the knights will release us because we tried to stop a crime and when they found us we were still a little drunk. They don’t want to hear tales of what they believe is a myth. Cloaked figures hurting people for money or assaulting others isn’t unheard of but is rare.” Ethan couldn’t think of anything else, it was either that or one of them stabbed Erin. Ethan shook his head, he could always ask for Ser Titus and ask him to find someone blessed by Tyveth himself. But that was a last resort that Ethan didn’t want to do. He just wanted to tell the knight he was drunk, saw a crime and screamed out. Simple explained the situation and Ethan could go home, probably with a fine.

Ethan listened to Karu’s reply and then the door to the tank opened and the knights escorted Erin. Ethan almost wished he had just let the Rogue Knight kill her. By the God’s he had been trying to give the girl a chance, but if she was stupid enough to go against the law, then Ethan wanted to get out of here and never see the fool again. As Erin seemed nice and sweet to the guards, Ethan knew her for a snake. Ethan listened to what Erin said and thought that not only was she stupid but she was a child playing at being important. Ethan snorted at her little threat, if she was that important or powerful, she wouldn’t have been working on the street trying to sale services for a little bit of coin. No, she was insufficient and Ethan dismissed her threats, after all if she decided to come after Ethan, then they would see who would take down who.

Ethan went over to his cot and laid down, listening to the two. He had come up with his story and hoped it was good enough. He would adjust depending whatever lie the two decided, Ethan truly wished he could just tell the truth and be believed. As he laid in the cot of his cell, Ethan spoke a hushed prayer. “Tyveth, I tried to do the right thing tonight. The girl, Erin Stella, used Reimancy out in the open and could have caused harm to someone. I reported the crime, yet I know that some people make mistakes and told her to run. I am not sure that it was the right decision or not, but I did it and then the Rogue Knight showed up. Now, I am in the tank and the Knight thinks I am drunk and a fool to claim such things...”

Ethan paused in his whispered confession, he felt a fool and didn’t want to depend on the Tyveth to get him out of this all he had to do was quite simply lie. “Tyveth, I have tried to live by your standards and teachings. I don’t want to lie… but if I tell the truth, then I could receive worst treatment at the hands of the Order. Hopefully, the right thing will come to me, but if I choose to lie, please find it in your being to forgive me, for I am lost at the moment and am unsure of what to do.”

A bell or so of discussion would go on, or silence before anyone would come for them. By that time whatever decision, story, or plot they had would have to do. They would hear the sounds of plated boots on the stone floors as Talber and two of his fellow Knights marched down into the lower caste towards the tank where they were all waiting.

They were lucky that Talber didn't see them as a serious threat or else a decision of what to do with them would have already been made without giving them the chance to speak for themselves. Once the knights made it to the tank, one carrying a torch and another with manacles, stood beside Talber. The Knight looked them all over, walking from one cage to the next. He watched their expression, seeing for himself if any of them had any remorse for their actions.

Once he was done on his walk, he returned to the center of all three cages and held up his hands. "Well, I'll give you all once chance to save yourself. Tell me what happened."

Will Magic For Food

Postby Ethan Ironhorse on November 17th, 2013, 9:32 pm

Ethan picked himself back up from the cot that was in the cell. In his time waiting, no answer was really given to him from Tyveth about what he should do. On the one hand, he had told the truth and it had been rejected by Ser Talber, and he really didn’t want to be killed or put into hard labor because the petching knight couldn’t believe three independent witnesses. As the Knight walked closer, Ethan began to get a feeling of dread. Resting his head against the bars of the cell, Ethan reviewed the events to himself, hoping that some inspiration or godly intervention would occur. Erin had seemed innocent enough, yet she had told him about using reimancy in the training pit against someone, on top of that she had used it to threaten Karu. To Ethan that was the first part of an irresponsible mage, a mage that would threaten and hurt others… well they might not be insane, but were they not a danger like an unbound blade.

Ethan chewed his lip for a moment thinking over the consequences of telling the knight about Erin. He firmly believed that every citizen of Syliras had the duty to protect the city and themselves. However, he had told the story about the Rogue Knight, and Ser Talber didn’t believe them. Of course, it didn’t help that Karu had been standing over Erin naked when they found the two of them. So now Ethan was in trouble, when the knights would have you believe doing the right thing was your duty. Ethan felt so frustrated at the idea that he told the truth and even alerted the knighthood to Erin disappearance, but instead of a pat on the back, they were holding him because they believe he was drunk. Tyveth, I will tell the truth, but I know that they are not ready to hear it. So I will give them the truth they are ready to hear.

“Ser,” Ethan said in a sad voice, “I had just come from the Ironworks, when I saw a flash of light. Looking over to a side street, I saw a man attacking this woman. I had recently heard rumors of the Rogue Knight and I guess I just assumed that it was him.” Ethan looked down with an ashamed look on his face. He hadn’t lied to the Knights, but he had left so much of the truth out that it felt like a lie. He felt so small for not standing up for what was right. Really telling them that the Knight was real and that Erin had used magic dangerously. “I chased after him with Karu over there, we lost him when he went into Li Mauta. I was panicked and worried about the lady, Ser, I am sorry for letting my assumptions get out of hand. Please don’t send me to the mines… the tale might seem odd, but she was hurt and needed care. Not to mention we found her in Li Mauta close to being burned alive. Doesn’t that at least show that I wasn’t part of what happened to her? Otherwise, why would I cry out for the knighthood?”

Ethan felt slightly sick to his stomach for telling the story. Yet, he wanted to be free and not behind these cell bars. Sadly, he realized that knighthood wasn’t the shiny example of mankind, and in the end he should have just shut up and left Erin till she killed someone and they were forced to hurt her down. It hurt him to think like that, he had been taught to do the right thing and make sure that others weren’t hurt. Ethan simply pressed his head back on the bars, fearful that the next thing he would hear would be a sentence of death or life of hard labor.

Talber had heard enough, and the Knight had been in the city cleaning up the late night crowd long enough to see what this was. They were high on something, not just drunk. Probably something wild from outside of the city. People were always trying to smuggle items into the city and the smaller ones did make it through time and again.

What he saw before him were three people tripping on something hard. They hadn't committed any serious crimes, though the woman's injuries were real, he figured it was a lesson learned. He had more important things to deal with and Talber wasn't about to waist anymore time on strung out dope heads.

'Well, isn't that a wonderful tale. So here's the deal. I think you all need to spend a night here to cool off and there will be someone to release you in the morning. If you behave yourselves." Unless Ethen had something more to say, Talber would give them all a hard glance, shake his head and walk off.

Will Magic For Food

Postby Ethan Ironhorse on December 8th, 2013, 8:55 pm

Ethan let out a sigh of relief and then pressed his head against the bars. The knight might have thought he was going crazy, or under powerful drugs, but at least it wasn’t going to cost Ethan his life. Tonight, Ovek was with him, as the knight decided let them sleep whatever it was off. Of course, Ethan believed that this was the fundamental problem with the knighthood. Absolute power to make decisions on people like Ethan, Erin, and Karu, and really with nothing more than their own understanding of what they saw. What happened when they couldn’t see or understand what was going on? After all, Ethan had followed what his teachers had told him, be a good person and tell the knighthood any type of crime you see, for the truth will never fail you. It seemed like the world was a lot simpler as a child, now when he had tried to follow the advice of his teachers… Ethan wasn’t sure if this was considered a success or not. On the one hand Ethan, wasn’t going to be sent to the mines or executed, yet a killer was going to go free, not to mention a possible crazy mage that was in the cage in front of him.

Ethan, realized just how tired and crazy this night had been. Finally, knowing the outcome of the night Ethan sat down on the cot, trying to find a comfortable position. A part of him was afraid at the idea of Erin in the next stall, a lot of things could happen with an insane mage, but on the other hand if he did die than at least she would be killed as well. Between the cot and the fear that Erin would do something insane, it took a while for Ethan to fall asleep and when he did, nightmares of the Rogue knight plagued his dreams. When he awoke, Ethan spoke a small vow to began learning and practicing as hard as he could to be better at fighting so that he would never feel that helpless again.

Sorry that this didn't turn out as epic as it could have gone. A note, you might want to hold back on Ethen's wealth of knowlegde. Unless you have a lore on it, magic, combat, locations, etc your PC wouldn't know about it.
