Hm...would multiple PCs be able to join in on this lovely organization?

The Scars

Postby Wrenmae on October 1st, 2013, 1:36 pm

Done and done Anna. I was wondering when you'd swing by.

Shiyami- Yes, that's possible...so long as the PC's aren't in the same city at the same time. Since the purpose is to spread things out, it would be feasible to have multiple PC's involved.

Given that this is an entirely PC effort and there is a pretty high turnover rate for successful PC groups, we're gonna have to all put in a bit of work to get this off the ground.

Now, since Wren can't be everywhere at once...how the different chapters of the Scars works will be up to the PC's running it. As I explained to one other player, it may be that the Scars become thieves and killers, coercing and violently taking information in one city...while in another they present themselves as a harmless interest group that lends their support in exchange for cooperation by the city government.

The point is that while I'm beginning this whole shindig, I want everyone else to be equally invested...so I'm giving you all a chance to really buckle down and make The Scars your own.

Hey, it may be that when Wren gets to your city for a visit, people won't listen to him because the only leader they've known is yourself :P

Let's see if we can keep our numbers and activity up. I'd love to see this evolve and remain in place for more than a season or two.

Thanks, all, for your interest.

Oh, and Shiyami...ghosts may be allowed in different chapters of the Scars...depends on who is running the chapter.

But Wren needs a huge twist of events for him to appreciate or accept ghosts at this point...but it's the same with Zith as well.

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!

The Scars

Excellent!

Now then... to learn something of poisons and try to attract Vayt's attention before meeting Wren... :p

I'd assume that The Scars are all for using other organizations for their own gain, like the Black Sun, the Syliran Knights, or the Sahovan Wizards. Also, what incentive would there be for the leader of one chapter to decide they would be better off leading and betray the rest of the organization? Since Mizahar is pretty spread out it seems like isolation is something of an issue, which breeds dissenters and factions.

The Scars

That is an entirely PC driven thing. I think we'll purchase some messenger birds to communicate between cities...obviously some will be closer to others and it's very likely parts of this organization will grow beyond others...but that isolation also aids in preventing betrayal...as laying wide plans to betray requires leaving your post, finding the other organization, learning of it, then betraying it.

Since each city can generate its own unique information, and the adventures of the PC's generate artifacts, magical knowledge, and useful lore...as long as the organization plays it close to the vest, we should all be benefiting off keeping the other alive.

But I do expect The Scars to act differently in some cities depending on leaders and political climate...I think that's actually a fun aspect of it all.

You had me at Conquer... I'd like to say that Seng is interested. This could be a opportunity for him and his author too. Haha!

The Scars

Well I just want to give my personal and falsely warm welcome to my fellow conspirators (spell that c-o-m-p-e-t-i-t-i-o-n).
So hello, Hypno-toad...er...I mean Wrenmae.
He's the only one I have actually threaded with, so my contempt toward the rest of you will be kept veiled behind a facade of ingenuous courtesy.
Welcome Tsaba...wavering is ill-advised when one is poised upon the knife's edge (or when one is poised at your back).
Mr. Cosa sir. A warm welcome to you as well. One every bit as warm as Sahova, I promise. Pull up a blood-stained cement slab and make yourself at home.
Kaie, Kaie, a delight to the eye! A heart like a razor, a smile to die...for....hmm...I'll have to work on that.
Welcome Shyami(s) if no multiple PCs, one can always fall back on multiple personalities.
Crypt! Now there's a name that fairly sings of destiny! (Yours I hope) And based in MY town, yet! Heh, heh...yes...how fortunate...
Miss Marin! Welcome, May I call you 'Annalisa'?...No?..I see. Well, betrayed any best friends for fleeting academic prestige lately? Oh, I'm sorry, I guess one would have to HAVE more friends to do that, hmm?
Mr. Vilhjalmr, a special welcome! I find myself unable to find anything about you to insult that you have not already mastered! Love that name. It flows off the tongue like a spiked chain!

So, are there any I have yet failed to affront? Oh please, speak freely now. I have an empty trash bin that just can't wait for your heartfelt responses.

No, all kidding aside, Hello everyone. Just wanted to greet you all in my own insufferable style.

I would prefer you called me "Nolan Parnell"...In fact, I insist.

*Claps*

I rather enjoyed that.

Alright all...as I said before...this group is not going to be easy. We're building from the ground up and this can go a lot of directions. I'd love to see it survive a year at least and keep on chugging.

But that depends on all of you...I can only do so much as one guy.

Also...in the theme of Mizahar, I thought to give this group a new name.

Dalat Radjud

If I am not botching my Nader Canoch...it means To Change that which is Broken.

If we feel that represents us, we can move right along to finding a symbol and discussing requirements for joining at some point (Cause ranks are just cool and give us all awesomeness to strive for)

Let's discuss...how would you want to run your end? Any big plans? These can be more fleshed out IC, but I want to see what ya'll are thinking.

Excellent greeting, Inoadar.

I think the Nader Canoch name's alright. Sounds... interesting, I guess. Perhaps we could shorten it. Take the first few letters of each name and all that.

Now, I am planning to have Crypt travel every one or two seasons to another city - unless I find a reason (IC or OOC) to remain in the city. So either Crypt would travel to a city where the Scars need a presence and start work there i.e. a long-term stay, or he would simply act as... well, enforcement of some sort? Helping out the Scars wherever he goes to. I don't know about that.

Here's a list of interested people so far, and their current locations:

Name Location
Wrenmae (Our Dear Leader) Syliras
Shiyami Syliras
Thurayya Nyka
Inoadar Ravok
Crypt Ravok
Senghor Vilhjalmr Ravok
Thomas Cosa Ravok
Kaie Ravok/Syliras (Winter)
Annalisa Marin Sahova
Tsaba Zeltiva

Choose your own titles! :D

We'll need the help of the STs if this organization is to work. See what's their stance for their respective cities/regions, and so on.

IC, well Seng's having this ancestry discovery thing going, he goes to each individual city looking on information and so forth about them. But!, I also have this plot rolling with the help of Eridanus, and we plotted it for a year. Hence these could go hand in hand as Seng is still a traveler/explorer/mercenary, so I do believe it's going to add some extra yet extreme effect of having business-pleasure and more business with pleasure mashing together.
