Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

7th Bell

The day was clear and young and the city was sleepy and slow. The morning air was a crisply cold and picked at the Riverians noses and cheeks. The Knirin Gardens were no exception to the cities behavior and few people were braving the grogginess and took morning strolls. Except for a few elderly people meditating and praying, the park was quiet.

Koa strolled down to the center of the park. He had heard that people trained with weapons in the park and decided the day before that he should train, but now that he was here and still sleepy, he was debating on whether or not he should spend the morning just taking in the scenery, or napping under in the cradle of grass before going to work. He stood looking down the lower section of the city, looking at the sights.

Faryon was in absolute awe of the park, despite it being autumn now the park was full of color. She had stumbled across it randomly when looking for a quiet, open place to read a book about Herbalism and Knirin Gardens was perfect in every way. It was still fairly early so the park had a few people here and there but not enough to steal the tranquility.

Faryon had made her way to what seemed to be the center of the park, occasionally stopping here and there to take in the sights. The multitude of gazebos that adorn the lake looked to be a flawless spot to read or people watch.

Upon closer inspection, most of the gazebos in sight were already occupied by various shades of Akalaks meditating or praying and the Drykas didnt want to wander through the system of gazebos to find an empty one to only disturb those already in one. So instead she picked a quiet spot in some grass, under a tree and began to read.

Koa decided that maybe he should train. I'm already here so early in the morning. Might as well make this short trip worth something. He took out one of his fathers of kopis. Mind everyone around him that while his father was very skilled with Kopis, he knew close to nothing about wielding a weapon. If one didn't over think it, he could argue that he knew how to use one alone... vaguely. Still he was determined to brave any consequence he would come in contact with. Little did he know consequences are closer than they appear, and they appeared to be very close as he gripped his right weapon tightly and unintentionally gripped the other loosely.

Clumsy as he was, he went on and started what he came here for. Swinging he went. It didn't take long before his lack of skill began to show itself. Gripping the weapon was easy, but it still took a shameful amount of time for him to get used to it. Slowly he did basic swinging techniques, but even that was a little nerve racking. As long as he remained focused on the weapon in his hands he should be fine.

The young Drykas had only been reading for half a bell but had skimmed through most of the book and was already in the 'S' section. Faryon was on an interesting page about sage and its various properties of uses beyond cooking when she decided to take a small break and take in more of the sights of the park.

She really wanted to see Blueveins falls from this side of Riverfall. Faryon had seen it from the beach/ocean perspective but the top would look spectacular. The teen got up brushed the crush grass from her clothes and made her way to inner part of the park.

Faryon couldn't get pass the bright colors that adorned the park. Living in the Sea of Grass all her life it was rare fo her to see so much color in one area. The trumpet vines caught her eye the most, maybe she can see if there was a flower shop somewhere in Riverfall where she could buy some seeds. They probably had no medicinal properities but to have them just to look at and to smell would work just fine by her.

The Drykas could see the waterfall in the distance the mist from it created a surreal enviroment with the various trees starting to turn their autumn colors and the rock formations that were suppose to offer peace. Faryon was almost there when she saw a young man practicing with an odd sword, looking almost like a machete.

The young man looked to be about Faryon's age with a muscular build and was lightly tanned. The teen was unsure what it was about the man that made her stop in her tracks especially considering if she went anywhere near him or attempted to talk to him, she would freeze up and catch a case of 'cat-got-your-tongue'.

As she watched on she realized what had caught her eye. Faryon was no warrior nor knew any trade with weapons or defense but she did recognize the potential for an accident waiting to happen. He was going through basic formations with the sword but clearly was a novice and he was so focused on it he didn't see what was coming up behind him.

Koa's ears perked, like they did whenever he felt someones eyes on him, whenever he was trying to inconspicuously listen to something, or whenever he divided his attention but still tried to focus on the task in front of him. Either way it was a signal that the worst feared was about to happen. He turned his head to find a woman looking at him. However, his arms didn't realize that his head was elsewhere and freak accidents tend to happen during those moments. Because he held his weapon with a reverse grip, edge out, a hiss came out of his mouth as his Kopis formed a skin tearing wound from where his wrist met his palm and traveled up his arm six inches.

Koa gripped his wrist as blood began to seep through his arm and he was on his knees looking at his wound. a drop of blood slipped through fingers like the dignity he felt he was losing. All he could do as the small puddle on the grass below him was look up and smile at the woman. "That'll leave a mark." He laughed as he tried to ignore the stinging pain.

He looked back down at his wound. It didn't look deep, but it went up his wrist and he might loose quite a bit of blood if he didn't treat it soon. But it wasn't anything to completely freak out about. With a bit of awkward tension in the air, he looked up at the woman and could only utter, "Hi!"

Faryon mentally smacked herself, what was she thinking gawking and standing behind a man while he's practicing with very sharp objects? I'm a lousy specimen of a healer she continued to mentally berate herself.

The Drykas rushed over to the man who was now holding his forearm and blood slowly dribbling out between his fingers. Kneeling before him and not looking him in the eye, she ordered him,"Hello, remove your hand please so I can look at it. I'm a healer."

She didn't wait for him to move his hand himself and gently but quickly moved it herself. It was bleeding pretty bad since he cut a pretty sensitive area full of veins and arteries but luckily nothing too bad and nothing she couldn't reverse. Closing her eyes she tapped into the gnosis mark that was given to her by the goddess Rak'keli. It glowed faintly and Faryon could feel the powers of the goddess herself fill her. She reopened her eyes and laid her hand over the shallow wound.

"I'm going to clean it out first to make sure it doesn't get infected then seal it up. You will probably have a faint scar here once I'm done but better than bleeding out right?"

Despite being calm and collected on the outside, on the inside Faryon was nervous. Not because she didn't know what she was doing but because she was in such close proximity of this man. Faryon cleaned out the wound and it fizzed little letting her know the impurities were being purged. She waited until it stopped fizzing completely before she closed the wound, pinching the skin together and back into its proper shape. Last thing that needed to be done was to get rid of all of the blood. The teen rummaged through her small backpack and pulled out her waterskin and poured it over the Bensharian's arm then her own hands.

"There all done and all better. I'm sorry I distracted you and caused this mess, literally." Faryon whispered. Now that she wasn't distracted by healing she wasn't so bold anymore

Koa's eyes darted between the wound on his wrist and the eyes of the woman in front of him as she performed her healing. Upon seeing her mark of serpents upon her head glow, his jaw dropped somewhat. He met a handful of people with the mark of Rak'keli. In fact, even the woman that owned the residential establishment he lived in had a mark from the Goddess. It still was and will always be intriguing and curiously amazing whenever he saw someone use such an ability.

Koa made eye contact with the woman, however as many times as their eyes met the gaze the constructed together never held, so he decided to speak, "That was really quite amazing!" He sighed relief as he had been spared a trip to the medical center on the other side of the city. Now manners did dictate he introduce himself formally, so he held out his hand with a slight bow, smiled, and light-heartedly said "Hello. I'm Koa Pond, and thank you so much for healing that nasty looking wound." A cold breeze passed over him and made him crinkle his nose.

[Knirin Gardens] Blooming Friendships (Faryon)

Postby Faryon Whiteflower on October 14th, 2013, 5:53 pm

A slight breeze had picked up and was coated in the oncoming winter. Faryon shivered slightly against it, she had forgotten her coat back in her little green room at the Sanctuary. Rubbing her arms quickly across her arms to warm them up some, she could feel Koa's gaze upon her.

He introduced himself in a flourish bow, and thanked her for healing the wound. It would be rude not to reply, but the Drykas was having a serious hard time forming the proper words. I really need to get over this shyness everytime I'm around a man.

The teens brow furrowed in determination and she managed to muster up enough courage to at least reply and look Koa in the eyes. However she still was blushing profusely, "Hello Koa, nice to meet you I'm Faryon Whiteflower. No problem about healing the cut, it would have been wrong of me to just let you bleed out besides it was kind of my fault that the accident happened in the first place."

Faryon kept glancing at his arm, her healer instinct was still slightly lingering or perhaps a gulity conscious, "Are you sure you are okay? No pain or anything?"

[Knirin Gardens] Blooming Friendships (Faryon)

Postby Koa Pond on October 19th, 2013, 2:46 am

Faryon Whiteflower's expression made her seem like she was struggling to speak. But she managed to speak, even though she looked like she was trying very hard to talk.

Koa looked down at his wrist, it was suffering in the cold air and a man with history from the deserts didn't fare well in cold weather. There was a thin line where the wound used to be, but the wound itself was now non-existant. "Ya, I'm fine."

He took a moment to observe the woman he was socializing with. Observation wasn't much of his strong suit, but anyone could notice that she seemed a bit tense when she spoke and those grey eyes of hers made her reddening cheeks stand out. "You seem a little... nervous," He spoke gently as if a powerful voice might hurt her, "Are you alright?"

The brightening, yet gloomy sky caught Koa's attention and he realized that soon he should probably check in at work. A sense of urgency began to grow in Koa's body as it wanted to get away from the cold temperature and near a nice and warm fire or forge, but it quickly passed because the curiosity that came with meeting new people.

[Knirin Gardens] Blooming Friendships (Faryon)

Postby Faryon Whiteflower on October 20th, 2013, 4:55 am

Faryon was fairly sure was scrunched up in the most ridiculous expression due to her concentrating so hard on trying to talk properly. She loosen her face some and took a deep breathe. This man, Koa, was no different from any other person. So what if he was male.. This little pep talk was not working and only made the Drykas more nervous. She needed a proper distraction and unfortunately there wasn't anything around that needed healing.

Faryon opted to fiddle with her her hair that had come loose from its braid. It wasn't as good as healing but it would do for now. She had been so successfully distracted she almost didn't catch Koa speaking to her. The teen was glad he was truly ok and she seemed to have healed him completely.

However his question if she was alright threw her off a little. Of course she was fine, fit as a fiddle but Faryon was pretty sure that's not what he had meant. The Drykas wanted to giggle when he began to talk softly to her like a baby creature he didnt want to scare off. Faryon probably did seem as such right now though.

"Yes, I am.. okay. Just have a hard.. time talking to men."

Faryon had no desire to keep talking about her over abundance of shyness, it would only make it worst instead she directed the spotlight back to Koa. "What kind of sword is that? Haven't seen one of those before. Is it a good idea to leave blood on the blade though?" She asked while pointing to the now forgotten sword.

It still had a slight blood stain on it from the accident but it had already turn brown in the time lapse since then. Faryon couldn't imagine that being a good thing for the sword but what did she know of swordsmanship. The teen was a healer not a fighter and even if she wanted to she would never be quite that well at it due to her mark from Rak'keli.

It was oddly getting rather cool outside when only 30 chimes ago it was quite pleasant and fairly warm. Figures the one day she didn't bring a coat it would be nippy outside. Looking up, she saw the cause of the drop in temperature. A rather large cloud was now blocking Syna's glorious rays of warmth. Faryon looked over to the tanned boy and saw he wasn't particularly too fond of the quick change of weather either.

"Want to find a gazebo to sit at? Might be abit warmer in one than out here." She was proud of herself for the sudden burst of courage and decided to fully ride on it. Standing up and brushing off the crushed grass that clung to her knees, she held out a hand to Koa to help him up.
