Shiress peeked through her fingers just in time to see the blonde lunging toward her with a dagger in hand and the closer the woman came the wider Shiress' eyes got. "Is that a..Kyra No..WAIT!" She wrapped her hands back across her face, hoping her new friend wouldn't overshoot her target.
The bug thing made a noise and the girl shifted her fingers again, just enough to see Kyra bounding back away from her.
Did she just hiss?
Shiress lowered her eyebrows, suddenly hearing a man speak. She listened a tick, giving herself a sarcastic chuckle before she spoke. "Rubby? Really? Look, if someone don't get Rubby off of me you're going to witness a full on come apart!"[b] As she spoke, the turtle bug jumped off and scurried away and Shiress jumped to her feet, quite annoyed, but mostly embarrassed.
[b]"A girl? That thing is a girl?" She shook her head, looking confused. "Why in the God's names wouldn't something like that scare someone?" She took a few steps toward the stranger, standing between him and Kyra. "I think you owe my friend here an apology. You nearly scared the life out of me, us both!" She shot a glance over her shoulder to Kyra before backing up slowly to stand next to her, eyes still watching the bug, still a bit unsure of the critter and its master.
"Harmless, huh? Tell that to my heart that nearly jumped out of my chest. What is that? She?" The girl pointed a shaky finger toward the critter as it circled about the man's foot. "Her?"
