Physical Description
Kadin's fire red hair and hazel eyes have her blending quite commonly with the rest of her people in Wind Reach, standing at 5'1''. She's never had much attraction to standing out in a crowd either, as most of her attire and accesories remain quite typical. She has three piercings in total: two at the corner of her left eyebrow, and one at the top of her left ear. the rings going through them are simple metal work that Kadin poked through her skin herself when she was younger. Random locks of her hair are braided and one particular braid sitting behind her right ear is knotted with her pet falcon's feather. Her facial features are rather sharp, and her lips are always dry.
In terms of clothing, her Bryda and Vinati are colored navy blue, gracefully complementing her elbow-length hair. Her bangs are crudely cut at her forehead and parted to her right. It is slightly wavy and the volume quite manageable. As Kadin does not bother herself too much with physical appearances, it remains somewhat disheveled. The two steel bracelets at her left wrist are family heirlooms that were intricately carved by her ancestors. Both are designed to complement each other. While the first has a shark carved into it, the second stylishly presents the Inarta's pride, an eagle.. Her leather Sontav on her right forearm is simply designed and quite worn from her time spent on falconry. Although her body is naturally slim she has accumulated quite a bit of muscle as her life at Wind Reach demands it.
Character Concept
Kadin is always on the shy side when first meeting people, but once she gets to know them she is very open and very talkative. Slightly on the emotional side, every action counts; she can decipher how someone is feeling easily and she is unable to hide her reactions, good or bad. Her impulsive nature is always blocked by her fear of consequences. If she has time to think something through, she'll never reach out of her comfort zone.
She's always dreamed to be chosen by a wind eagle, but nowadays her thoughts are mostly skeptical about the concept. Always frisky when making decisions, she avoids making them for the most part. Can be considered nosy as she will often butt into situations for simple reasons such as upholding her beliefs. She has very strong notions, her world is in black and white and class rarely matters for her. She is very competitive, always feeling like she's being challenged no matter how subtle the comment. Although she doesn't seem it at first, she's quite gullible, mostly because her thoughts rarely stay in one place long enough for her to figure things out. Her ADD is mostly a weakness to her, but her thinking is quick if she wants it to be.
Likes: listening to music and stories, marking her presence in places through various means, spontaneous happenings.
Dislikes: Staying home for longer than 3 hours, the smell of copper, total silence, humid weather, making decisions.
Character History
Born into a blacksmith family, Kadin was a first and only child, rare among the Inarta. Her parents kept trying at kids after her but only succeeded seven years later giving birth to triplets (2 sons and 1 daughter) with whom she never she'd only spend time with if supervision was required. At first her father started teaching her the trade but her ADD kept her from learning much more than simply bending strips of metal into intriguing scraps. Rather, she found her passion with Falconry, which she felt she had a deep connection with since she could remember.
Once her father had more children he could pass on his profession to, he did not train her as much but rather encouraged her to pursue her ambitions and find a Wind Eagle. Kadin had a surprisingly natural connection with the birds and most animals in general, superior even among the Inarta. However, as the years passed and she was not chosen by the mighty creatures, she started to feel like she might not actually be that special. She feels especially pressured since most everyone around Wind Reach wants to achieve the same goal. Her childhood dreams started to fade and as she started to consider other possibilities. Spending most of her time helping out at the aeries, she never took the time to get to know anyone enough to confess her doubts. Leaving them bottled up inside her had her emotional thinking besting her rational thoughts, and she only worried more and more about the subject.
As an adolescent, she forgot to learn about the social norms in life, not making much any friends. The only people she'd spent time with was her family, which was largely sufficient for her, watching her younger brothers and sister grow rapidly. She and her father would often wrestle, usually just to entertain the kids when they were bored. He taught her a few tricks if she ever got into a fight, which would surely occur in a place like Wind Reach. As predicted, she did get into one or two fights during her teenage years. She was a little confident from learning the rules of the brawl from her dad, and did not hesitate to sock someone if they hurt her pride or just flat-out annoyed her.
Two years ago her mother died, who had been an exceptional model as she rose from her status as dek all the way to Avora. Without someone to really look up to, Kadin started wondering if she should just stop at falconry and stop aiming for the top. Her sudden down-to-earth attitude made her hesitant on making important leaps in her life and she's remained retrogressive for quite a while. She started running into an identity crisis as she felt there is nothing that separates her from the rest of the crowd.
Looking back at her past in order to try to find a fix to her issues, she remembered how she would always be amazed by the stories travelers would bring. They always seemed much more cultured and each was more unique than the last. Kadin started developing a thirst for travel, but considering the morals of the society she lives in and having never left Wind Reach, it's hard to even fathom getting the chance to leave the place. She spent most of her time walking around the mount pointlessly and her visits the aeries became less and less common. She and her father became distant as he showed his evident disappointment that she was giving up on her dream. While she still helped him out with errands as much as she should, she started spending less time at home and devoted more of her time practicing her skills as a falconer.
