So... Last night...
Lst night my family was rear ended last night on 281. We were at a dead stop at a light and some woman managed to slam into us. Those on scene estimate her speed being between 50-60mph. We were hit so hard that our full sized GMC truck pulled a 180 and would have gone into oncoming traffic had my dad not been quick and steered us into a turning lane. He held the steering wheel so hard that he actually bent the frame of his seat. My little sister was in the back seat and got the worst of it. That tough little kid broke the rear windshield with her head and walked away with only whiplash. I was knocked forward and hit my head on the dash; I only have severe muscle strain in my back and neck. For some reason, our airbags didn't deploy. I guess you have to get hit in the front too?
This accident could have been so much worse, but we were all lucky. My dad had actually had a funny feeling all day and said that he should have run the light we stopped at an instant before we were hit. Proof that we should listen to that little voice job our head.
Our tented truck bed.
The point of impact
Frame damage
We started just behind where the far right cop car is.
After 6 hours tied down with a neck brace on, I was allowed to get up. But they didn't take the funny things off of my arms for another hour.
