Sei passed through the woods, and stopped at the nearest clearing after leaving the city. He had left the gates thirty minutes ago, and decided he would train there. Clothed in his studded armor, he had brought his daggers and his short sword. He removed the sheathes from his back and leg, and lifted his short sword. He made a light swing, and observed the weight of the blade. He then tried a light thrust, and winced at the sting as the tip hit a tree, a vibrated a little.

He then swung the blade around in an arc, fitting his hand on the hilt so he felt the sword was an extension of his arm. He made a light swing toward the ground, and quickly turned the hilt in his had so the blade was facing skyward, and lifted it. He held the blade firm yet loose, remembering the words of a squire he'd faced before. He held the sword, and withdrew the hilt. He tucked the hilt back, and then made a forceful thrust with the blade.

He struck out again, and tried to rotate the blade. He dipped his arm, and twirled the hilt so the blade was pointing at the ground, and thrust the hilt in front of him. He relaxed his arm, and decided to switch hands. He gave the blade a light swing, and put more force behind it so he could hear a faint whistle as it moved. He could feel his arms ease every second, and noticed his arms were already used to the blades light weight.

He relaxed his stance, and let his arms fall to his hips. If I remember correctly, I don't have to use to much force with it considering it's weight. He would practice all day today, and would probably never forget his training. He needed to be ready for his trip. He drew in a deep breath, and waited for his mind to relax before lifting the sword once more. He didn't really have to swing hard, but decided to put force behind his next swing. He made a heavy thrust, and withdrew the sword only, to make a wild swing.

He made a wide slash, and arced the blade were it would face the sky. He shifted the short sword, and made a slight tease with the blade tip. He made another thrust, and eased the blade back to make a heavy slash. He relaxed and rolled his shoulders, and wiped the sweat from his head with his forearm. He shifted the weight of the blade.

He relaxed for a bit and lifted the sword for another round. He brought the sword around in a arc and swung it to hack a nearby tree. He heard the thunk, and a slight thrum of his short sword's metal. He hadn't cut very deep, and it was more Like a scrape in the wood than a cut, but it as better than nothing. He made another slash at the tree, and observed how easily the blade bounced off the tree and was knocked off track. Instead of making a perfect cut, the blade was strayed easily off course.

He made a wide strike in front of the tree, missing the mark completely. He still couldn't exactly realize the complete length of the sword, but he would grow into it soon enough. He made a short swing, and tried a spin strike. He groaned at the reviberation and steady hum as the metal nicked the tree. Not much of a even a scrape, more like a splinter. He drew back the sword and decided to practice more in open air.

Sei made a quick turn, slashed the air from ground to head level. He swung the blade around and put as much force behind it as possible, causing the wind around the blade to whistle. He rested his arm, and wiped the sweat from his brow. He put his short sword in his sheath, and placed it on the ground. His breathing was heavy, but he ignored it and grabbed the next sheath.

Sei drew his dagger, and toyed with it for a bit. He turned it in his hand, and played a little longer before making a wide sweep with blade. He lifted the dagger above his head, and drove it toward the ground. He lifted the dagger before the blade passed his waist, and twisted his hand so the tip of the blade pointed toward the left, and crossed his left arm over his chest. He then made a wide slash in open air, listening to the soft whistle of the dagger peircing air. He made an attempt to swing the blade around as he made the swipe, but the move came out clumsy, and he realized in a real fight he would have given his opponent an opening.

The slashes I'm making are to wide aren't they? He wondered to himself. Shorter slashes might not be as effective, but they wouldn't leave me as open as the wider ones.. Maybe.. He tried to make a shoulder to shoulder slash, and found it an easier task. He arced the blade in a "C", and tried a thrust. Placing his arms at his sides, he relaxed a moment, and rolled his shoulders. He lifted his dagger and made a thrust, then another, then another. He the made a slash, and turned for another. He struck a tree, and groaned as the dagger fell from his hand. He didn't have the skill requirerd for cutting a tree with it. He bent to pick up the dagger.

He shifted from there to make a kick, folled by a clumsy swing of his dagger. He punched with his right, and turned a half circle, swinging the blade around as if he were in a real fight. He made a light swing, and struck up with his knee. He thrust the blade forward, and observed his movements carefully. Hopefully, he could find some new tactics as he progressed. He switched hands, and thrust the dagger forward. He followed with a skyward arc, and continued by slamming the dagger into the ground. He lifted the dagger, and gave a happy smile. It wasn't that he was happy, it was that he had nothing better to do.

He let out and exasperated sigh, made a loose swing. Sweat coated his neck, and even the cool grass was a loxourius. He turned with a swing, followed by a knee, and ended with a heavy thrust. He feigned right with the dagger pommel, and instead went left with a swift swing. He turned the blade for another heavy swing, and almost threw the dagger from his hand. He relaxed a bit, and gripped the dagger more firmly. He flipped the dagger in his hand, and turned to swing again. He braced his arm as he made a strong thrust at a tree, and winced as his arm started to tingle from the cullision. He unwedged the blade, and made a wild slash in open air.

Sei sighed, and sheathed the dagger. He lifted his short sword and put the sheathes on his back. He was done training for today.

Notes :
Mr. Tendo,

Much better compared to previous works. I can see the improvement as you are beginning to get what it means to account for skill level in the use of weaponry. Keep up the good work. In the future I advise that you make your solo threads between 3-4 posts long.
