appearance

Taylani stands at a long and lanky five foot eight inches, her body type could be accurately described as gangly. Her body is well toned, though one could say mildly muscular due to her background in Dance, her feet showing the callouses that would declare her a dancer. Her hair falls to mid back, and is the color of a fiery shade of red, her eyes a tranquil shade of blue that tilt up just slightly at the corners. Her jawline is strong, squared and her cheekbones protrude just a little too dramatic to be called pretty, but her lips are full enough to soften the full picture.

Taylani can be summed up in two words, passionately stubborn. When she believes in something she will fight tooth and nail for it, whether she is correct or not. It will take something big to shake her belief in something. She sometimes misses what's around her because she is focusing on one belief to the exclusion of all else.

history

In the Past:

Taylani was born to a middle class family. Her parents worked hard to send her to school to allow her training in Dance and song. She learned the basics of reading and writing but never shown much aptitude for book learning. Instead her talents lay in the artistry. Dance and song was her life, and she dedicated herself to work her way into a job that allowed for her to use this.

Shortly after her 18th year Taylani had a run in with the city Knights. It was over a small matter that seemed to escalate, a man who had recently been pressed into working but apparently had not received his wages was caught stealing. Taylani, unfortunately, came across the scene where the city knights caught the poor man and was dealing with the thief. Without really thinking it through, Taylani tried to step in for the man which was viewed as insubordination and a threat to the order of things was caught up and escorted out of the city gates, there left to fend for herself in the sea of grass with only the clothes on her back and a meager weeks worth of rations.

In the Present:

Taylani was captured by the Drykas on the 77th day of summer 513. She is informed that the Drykas were scourged by the Pox and were now desperate to raise their numbers by any means necessary. This included a raid on the Syliras border, which netted them a redheaded dancer. She was sold at a paltry sum of 10 gold mizas, to Fallan Windchaser. He wondered why so low a sum, but it might be because of her stubborn nature and unbending ferocity. Fallan informs her that if she gives him two healthy children he will take her back to Syliras.

She agreed until she met a couple women, /Drykas/ born women who she feels have been bullied and pressured by the men in their lives to marry and birth children. She fears that Drykas women were little better then she herself was -views herself as a slave-, and fears that any girl children she births would be in the same predicament. Despite Fallan's assurances that any children she bears would be Drykas and thus free, when Taylani realizes she is pregnant she tries to escape being unaware of the webbing and its abilities.

Dancers Pants: Deep shade of green with purple embroidery. loose fitting but cinched at the ankle. From hip to knee in front is fabric resembling a shorter skirt, though this does not resume in the back. Idea for giving the appearance of skirt but leaving the legs free to move, or sit astride a horse.
Blouse: Lighter purple, embroidered but otherwise plainly crafted. The neckline was low enough to show the tops of breasts but nothing more daring then that. The sleeves are long but the material light. Well crafted but far from what one might call "luxurious" or "elegant."
