The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Semele's Cavern

Located just outside the Amaranthine Gate, the cavern entrance is a discreet but well known place. It's opening is a small hole in the ground, barely two men wide, but drops several meters down. A tall, aged pine tree stands right at one edge, roots burrowing deep down, poking out in the tunnel in multiple spots. It has old needles that can still be seen littering the base of the climb. The walls are lined with many handholds, so even a novice climber could easily make their way down the thin passage.

At the bottom of this tunnel, a magnificent sight awaits. A massive cavern, with no other side tunnels or areas occupies a large space, the length nearly 50 meters across. In the center, barely 5 meters from the walls, is a shallow pool. The water is an odd blue-ish green color, but perfectly clear, making the bottom as easy to see as any other part of the cave. An odd moss lines the banks, making them more defined than they would normally be. The water itself is actually quite clean, and needs no purification to become easy drinking water. It's also warmer than usual, a nice average temperature rather than the freezing cold of the Amaranthine river nearby.

The walls are rough and comprised of a dark stone that are generally slick with moisture. The ceiling is of a similar material, with the occasional stalactite here and there. The stone is also covered with the same moss as the pool's banks, a strange soft species that seems to need no light. In fact, it creates its own light, glowing with a faint green phosphorescence that makes the features of the cavern barely visible. It is one of the attractions of the location, other than the magnificence of the cave itself.

Semele's Cavern is a popular location for exploratory youths, a challenge for any who dare explore it. Though it technically isn't very dangerous, heading down into the area can almost a 'right of passage' for some. A few even dare to swim in the crystal clear water, though it isn't particularly cold. Other than that, the cave is simply known for its remarkable size, the glowing moss, and the clear water.

Glowing Moss :
Image Name Characteristics
Image Glowing Moss Glowing moss is only found in Semele's Cavern, and it part of the location's attraction. This plant generally grows in large, thick, patches, and is remarkably soft to the touch. Usually the plant is an inch or two thick, and grows all over the cavern. However, it especially likes to grow around the edge of the pool in the cavern, creating an edging a few inches at the least, and several feet at most. However, the most important part is what gave the moss its name. Strangely enough, it glows a faint greenish blue color, giving off enough light to make the cavern visible, even though it would usually be pitch black. It also seems to need no sunlight to grow, and no soil or dead matter. In fact, no one's actually figured out how it sustains life in the first place, but there is a theory about nutrients in the rock. Overall, it's more a curious phenomenon than anything else, and is honestly part of the rock cavern it grows in.
