45 Summer 513 -Somewhere in the wilds of Sylira- Today was one of the first days Clyde was really feeling up to much. He had a bit of free time as his group had finished traveling for the day, and he was more or less over all the injuries he had received last season when he had been... Tortured by a God? Or Someone the God was pretending to be... Or did that person even exist, and it was only actually Rhysol pretending all the time? Or was he copying a real person. Or had the real... "Petch..." Every time Clyde tried to figure out what had happened that day, who it had actually been at first, and if that other guy existed or not, his logic lost all direction and ended up circling upon itself till it crashed and died. His first meeting with the God of chaos had resulted in a large space of time that was chaotic in his recollection, a fact which was not getting better in time. But in retrospect, perhaps that made sense, and he was not expected top sort out the chaos of that day. Regardless, he had to strive on, and he did now have a direction. In fact, this entire trip with his various comrades was his current purpose. And what he planned to start today, was the first step of that plan being put into action. It had been a long time coming, he had spent several sessions just working on the aspects of it, gaining the knowledge and skill required to do it all. And now he was fairly certain he could do it. It was simple enough in concept, if not in application. He was going to combine 12 of the highest level lightning spells he could create via Reimancy, each the highest quality work of a master Reimancer, himself. Using his superior Glyphing skills, he would hold these all together into one cohesive entity, to be released later as one mammoth mage weapon. Or at least, that was how he spoke himself through the process in his own mind, how it would work. He was still uncertain of its possible output, but it would be quite amazing, even for Clyde who was a master mage. This of course by its nature was the prototype, the first of its kind that Clyde knew of. If it had been done before, likely the only place that would have such knowledge would be Sahova, and that was only if such a undertaking had been attempted. And how often did such a highly skilled Reimancer and Glypher work together to create something as he had planned? Probably not often. The only reason he could achieve it, was because he was both aspects, the Glypher and Reimancer. Clyde thought back to the various training sessions and experiments he had undertaken, just to ready himself for this. He had done a micro scale version of his mage weapon, using several different iterations of switches till he found one that worked for him. He had painstakingly worked on his triggers for seasons, till he could do incredibly complex ones, and still have them work. Now, Clyde was finally confident in his own Glyphing skills to be able to do it. He was finally ready to begin a task that had been seasons, perhaps years, in the making. And who knew what he would be capable of once this proved a success? Only time would tell. But first, this initial step had to be taken. |
