51st of Fall 513

The idea of companionship was an odd one to those who have spent most of their lives alone. From some people there is no choice, having to isolate themselves from everyone just so they won’t hurt others. Nyka had been the one place that wasn’t her home that Assilsa had allowed people to even get close to her, the night before still present in her mind Assilsa began to wonder if it was actually possible for a relationships to build a relationship without them running off in terror screaming.

For some unknown reason Assilsa had decided to wear her new corset and her perfectly clean skirt, usually around Nyka she just wore her grubby hunting garb but this night she had decided to go fancy, not that she planned anything, she was just planning on staring at the nightlife of the outside from the window of the hostel. Parting her hair to fall on one side of her face Assilsa made her way into the hallway, as she did so she considered her outfit, tight purple corset and short, black, silk skirt. She looked like a common whore however even if she was who would want someone that she could kill with one kiss if she wasn’t careful?

Coming to the conclusion that her subconscious had chosen to dress like this to scare off conversation, had she? Shaking off the thought Assilsa continued to walk through the hall like a pale ghost, most probably thought she was… Coming to stop in the main room Assilsa looked over the bookshelves, there wasn’t a book that she felt like reading. Turning towards the window she noticed that the candles added and eerie glow to her eyes, as her reflection stared back at her Assilsa noticed how much like a predator she looked…

Save had been wearing her tight leather pants and her black corset. It always made her feel so much more comfortable when she wore form fitting clothes. The shuffle of feet outside her door distracted her from her own thoughts. It was a few bells before night fall, and Save wanted to get a few good drinks in her tonight.

Save quietly left her room and made her way down the hallway. Glancing out of a nearby window, she realized it was raining steadily.

Looks like I'm not going outside tonight... With a sigh, Save sat next to a lovely young woman in the main hall of the hostel. It was rather quiet even with the amount of people residing within. She paid no initial attention to the woman who she was near and instead chose a book left on a table. It was written in the common language, which unfortunately, Save could not read it. With a forlorn sigh, she returned the book to its original resting place.

"By the gods, this place is such a bore. I could go for a good hunt right about now."

Still standing by the window looking out the window Assilsa watched as the rain fell upon people scuttling back to their homes, all filled with the same fear of the night. Assilsa loved the night, however she was no prepared to take on the creatures of Nyka’s night, they reminded her of the sneaky slavers that hunted her in Ravok. With a small sigh Assilsa rested her palm against the glass, she missed prowling in the moonlight.

So caught up in her own thoughts she had missed someone entering the room and taking a seat almost beside her. As she heard her voice Assilsa spun around with her skirt creating a small circle around her, hands on her hips Assilsa’s eyes observed the woman in front of her. This woman was all curves and beautiful green eyes. Almost memorised Assilsa stood staring, observing every aspect of the woman, her clear emerald eyes, her long careless hair…

Assilsa for a brief moment felt self-conscience of her appearance, that was until the predator in her took over, She was grateful and had to admit she preferred acting that way that her instincts commanded instead of the terrified child she once was. Assilsa ran her hands down her hair in silence for a moment thinking of a reply, however when she began to think the only thing that came to mind that with having her hair at her hips it wasn’t practical for her hunts… Cursing her mind Assilsa just opened her mouth and hoped for something intelligent.

“I can agree… I do miss traveling in the night, hunting among the moonlight however… this city does not permit that”

With a smile, Save nodded, reminded of the one night she made the mistake of walking out at night. This young woman was beautiful; her elegant limbs. Her pale skin. Her long cascading hair and gorgeous ruby eyes were all captivating. She looked almost as if she were intimidated by her presence. Yet she was a predator. A lethal huntress. Someone like her. How she longed for a companion to hunt with, to talk to. She desired a friend.

"What brings you here to this horrific city?" Save glanced over at the woman, trying to be as friendly as possible. She began shivering with cold, as she often was lately.

Assilsa absently began to turn her treasured ring as she smiled. The woman seemed wonderful, however she didn’t know whether she was bias because of how the woman looked..

“This city… Ravok Almost killed me and threw me out and this was the nearest city I guess…”

Assilsa noticed the woman shiver slightly and she couldn’t help herself but shuffle closer and reach out, by the time she realised she was doing it Assilsa was only a short distance from touching her. She was being stupid, the woman wouldn’t want a stranger touching her let alone using their body heat to warm them up. Assilsa had lived with Halt for too long, they often ended up spending nights huddled against each other in the wintery nights.

Pulling back Assilsa cringed inwardly, what could she do? Scanning around the room Assilsa attempted to find something that wasn’t her to warm her companion. She found a blanket folded upon on an arm chair across from the pair. With a swish of her skirt Assilsa went to grab the blanket, still something in the back of her mind made Assilsa hope that she would look confident.

The blanket was made of a soft wool that made Assilsa smile, gathering it up Assilsa went to turn back give it to the woman but got distracted looking out of the window just as a dog like creature slinked around in the rain, she still did not know the creatures name however she was still amazed by it.

Shaking her head, causing her hair to move out of its part and falling around her body, Assilsa smiled and offered the blanket to the woman.

Save had been distracted by movement outside as the woman got up to retrieve a blanket that was across from them. She did not realize how cold she was. But as she realized what had caught her attention, her cold blood turned to ice, and her shivering stemmed more from fear than being cold. Her pupils became the serpentine slits that always appeared when she was experiencing great emotion and her skin became almost as pale as snow. Save had barely managed to stifle a scream yet had somehow found herself clinging to the woman.

Save had never been so terrified in her entire life. Her muscles tensed in her stomach threatening to expunge the contents she had eaten only a few bells before. She was completely reduced to a limp pile of hysterics, shaking almost violently with a fear only Ssena herself could conjure.

Save whimpered pleading to Caiyha to protect and watch over her. She had no intentions of being welcomed into Dira's domain anytime soon.

Assilsa’s eyes widened in fear and she let out a strained yelp as the woman clung to her, her arms released the blanket to wrap her arms around the shaking woman. Assilsa had noticed that her eyes had turned into snake like slits, she reminded Assilsa Of a Dhani, after all she might even be one.

Musting all her strength Assilsa pulled the woman onto the floor with her and wrapped the blanket around her. It was hard with the woman’s arms still wrapped around her however she had managed. The woman was shaking with such force Assilsa began to wonder if there was something horrible happening in her body.

Patting the woman’s hair Assilsa attempted too sooth and comfort the poor lady. She didn’t even know this poor woman but Assilsa was sitting here comforting her, arms wrapped around her lean frame, patting her hair… it was certainly odd however Assilsa had always been the one to comfort other digging herself into their problems to make them happy.

As her hand patted the womans head Assilsa began to hum softly, it was a song that her mother had sung whenever Assilsa was in pain or scare, she had decided it was appropriate for these circumstances. As the Symenos word began to flow out into the song Assilsa hopped that she was helping.

Get it together Save! Now! She closed her eyes, listening to the womans song, she slowly calmed down and began to warm up as well. To show kindness to a stranger was foreign enough in Nyka, but a stranger comforting another, well that was almost impossible. She felt safe for the first time in so long.

"Thank you...." She barely spoke above a whisper. Feeling incredibly embaressed, Save tried to get up on her own. "I promise, I mean no harm....I don't know what came over me..." Save was speechless. All she wanted right now was to hide in a hole. Far. Far. Away. Biting her lip, she looked in the womans eyes. She wasn't human. Her scent told her that much....but what was she? And did it really matter what she was? This woman was beautiful and compassionate even to a total stranger. Save felt a strange flutter in her chest that was extremely unfamiliar.

Assilsa was glad that the woman had calmed down, she still didn’t know what had happened but Assilsa didn’t care as long as the woman was alright, refusing to let the woman get up without assistance Assilsa offered her hand.

“It’s fine! We all have moments and I don’t think any less of you”

As she made eye contact with the stranger Assilsa’s breath caught in her throat for some reason, the woman before her looked so nervous compared to before. The blanket had slid off the woman’s shoulders when she had gone to stand up so Assilsa bent over and grabbed it again.

Pulling it back over the woman’s beautiful shoulders Assilsa held the blanket so it wouldn’t fall back to the ground. She couldn’t help but smile, this smile was genuine, for a moment she stood there smiling until she remember that her fangs were their most visible when she smiled. Assilsa quickly let go off the blanket to cover her mouth with wide eyes, she was so stupid, to show her fangs when she was being nice! It would ruin any impression she had been attempting to make. Cringing Assilsa took a step back.

“I’m so sorry! I forget about them…”

Watching this woman attempt to hide her fangs, was one of the cutest things she had ever seen. Save smiled revealing her own fangs. She carefully took a step forward letting the blanket fall onto the ground. She reached her hand out to comfort this elegant woman. Whatever she was feeling towards this person was warm and fuzzy. Strange yet not unpleasant. Save had no desire to eat, hunt or seduce. Just comfort. Maybe because she missed the company of someone who was not afraid of her. Like Licearsvansan, just not as big a pain in the, well, neck.

"Don't hide your fangs. They are as natural as night and day." Save spoke carefully, hiding the lisp she hated so much, with almost little effort. Practicing common speech alone was helping considerably. But all she wanted now was to hold and comfort the very woman who had only moments ago comforted her. They were both alone in a foreign place. That was no way to be. Not in Nyka.
