{Fleeing To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Thayer meets some strangers who have been misjudged. They soon wade into a battle with the beasts of the forest... Wolves!

While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Lost in the din of carnivorous snarls and vicious snapping of teeth was a faint, yet shrill noise that sounded throughout the trees. Its pitch elevated and descended, spelling out a foreign melody as its maestro's breath kept time: enter the Akalak known as Khal'iah Vojak, whistling a tune with not a care in the world. For many days now, the midnight-skinned warrior had been traversing the land of Mizahar, starting from his home in Riverfall and ending up in the Wildlands of Sylira. His itinerary was that of the capital city of the region, Syliras, where he would briefly stay. Khal'iah's plan was to see the realm that he had only heard of in stories, and to test his mettle against one (or more) of the famed Knights residing in that area.

The purpose of this venture? Simply to grow strong and to augment his strength through experience.

And so, the tall warrior roamed about the forest floor, his right hand firmly gripping the reins of his trusty, brown steed by the name of Jak. Normally, the Akalak would be astride his companion, briskly riding through the landscape...but there were too many low branches and he really didn't feel like getting knocked off his horse. Khal'iah's long, confident strides came to a halt, as did his whistling, when the canine howls finally reached his ears. It took him not even a moment to recogize what had created the noise: wolves. His first instinct was to steer clear of the sound, as he did not wish to endanger his steed through an encounter with a pack, yet what he heard alongside the howls made him deviate from his instincts.

Voices. There was no mistaking it. Female voices.
'Oh...this can't be good.' he thought to himself, his mind instantly conjuring a mental image of a group of women being assaulted by the beasts. This image wasn't too far off from the truth...and it was enough to spurn the Akalak into action. He quickly, and silently as possible, tied Jak's reins to a tree and motioned for the horse to remain there...as if Jak could understand him...before unsheathing his longsword and giving his off-hand a confident shake to set his buckler into place. Khal'iah lowered himself in an attempt to minimize his presence and then cautiously approached the unfolding scene, just in time to witness several wolves launch themselves at the two females and lynx before them.

Khal'iah didn't have time to question all that he saw, but his alternative persona Ha'lik sure did.
'What in the blazes is going on?' he screamed, filling Khal'iah's mind with his excessive tone as the Akalak rushed into battle. 'Why is that woman naked? Is that...is that a LYNX fighting a wolf? Khal. KHAL. Mizahar to Khal, anyone home? What are you doing??' The warrior did his absolute best to ignore his "dark" persona's unnecessary ravings and entered the fray with a confident bellow, thereby drawing the attention of two of the closet wolves.

"Wysar, guide my hand, let my blade strike true." He muttered, calling out for assistance from the deity whom he piously served. He brandished his blade and moved it in a deadly arch, severing the head clear off of the wolf before immediately crashing his buckler into the skull of the other.

The Akalak moved swiftly, nearly jogging in front of the nude woman whom remained prostrated before the largest of the wolves. Without a moment's hesitation, Khal'iah drew back his bloodied blade and brought it across in a swift blow, poised to rend open the beast's chest and extinguish the fire of its existence. He could only hope that his strike hit home and that the wolves, upon seeing the largest among them fall, would scatter.

{Travelling To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Postby Lexa Maze on April 6th, 2013, 12:27 pm

Lexa began her attack. The wolves ran at her, eyes blazing. Lexa steeled her stance and swung her blade. The katana kit the first wolf in the neck, slitting it's throat and cutting into its vocal chords. Blood spurted and the beast made a gurgle before falling to the floor with a thud.

Lexa pivoted on the ball of her foot and swung again. Slice, yelp, thump. Repeat. Her eyes had grown cold again. She kept an eye out for the Lynx and the fox girl. They were exposed and venerable, Especially the naked kelvic girl, but lexa was not currently in a position where she could come to the naked girls aid. There were too many wolves surrounding her. They surrounded her and the Lynx who was closest to her. She spared a worried glance at the Lynx and was surprised to find that it had gotten up nobly to help her. This creature was in no state to fight! She should have left when she had the chance. What if the wolves were too much for her?
"Lynx, why are you still here? I said you should be able to run, I didn't say you should fight wolves!" She hissed it's way.

The worried sound of Lexa's voice was cut short by piercing yelps of pain and fear and the sound of a blade whooshing through the air and hitting its mark. Lexa's jaw dropped. Now there was a big purple man swinging at the wolves, jumping into the fray and coming to the aid of the fox lady. Could this day get any more WEIRD? When did such a monster arrive here? The growl of the predators in front of her stole her attention back to the task at hand. She had lost her focus, and so wolves had managed to work their way behind her, into her blind spot.

oh shit

Lexa turned her head just in time to see an experienced looking black wolf fling itself at her back. She screamed as it got its razor blade claws into an old wound of hers. She tumbled to the floor and rolled so that the creature was under her, making the pain many times more intense. She bit through the pain and slammed her elbow into the wolf's ribcage with force enough to send a gargantuan cracking sound into the warriors eardrums. The animal yelped with pain and released it's hold. Lexa grabbed her blade again finished off the creature, ignoring the spots of blackness that danced in front of her eyes at the pain. Weakly she pushed herself to her feet. And there were more of them. the wolf who had pinned her had been replaced swiftly with three others.

She had to create an escape, and hope the purple man would protect the fox. Blood trickled down her back and seeped through to shredded remains of the back of her tunic. It was al to obvious that her not quite healed wound had opened again. Her breathing was laboured and her forehead was coated with sweat despite the biting chill of the winter season. She needed a plan, fast, this couldn't go on forever.

And they just kept coming like a never ending horde. Lexa had never fought even one wolf before, only men. She backed up, fixing them with snarls of her own, daring one to leap at her. She hadn't a clue what was going on with the purple man and the fox lady, and the alpha, no less, surely if he went down there would be a moment of confusion before anger erupted from the pack, giving them a narrow escape opportunity. The Lynx was in the corner of her eye but to focus on it would be foolish.

{Fleeing To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Postby Silvia Rose on April 23rd, 2013, 9:38 pm

(I am using my tablet, forgive me for not posting with my codes.)

‘They’re coming!’ Silvia thought to herself nervously as she hears the pack behind the alpha begin to move around. Twigs snapped, leaves crumbled, howls, snarls and whines filled the air. They did not like now close the female was to their alpha and without any other orders being given the pack attacked. ‘Do not move, not yet… almost…’ The spell was almost done; her words filled the alphas mind twist and turned within his thoughts. Just as two wolves grew closer to her the spell finished, now it was only time before the effects would kick in.

Vanishing into silver dust and reforming back the same way but within fox form she dashed under the alphas legs and glanced around. She was safe for now, the two wolves now circling their alpha and watching the little fox as they dare not get too close to him just yet. She managed to get herself in quite a tight spot, but it was the perfect view of what was going on around her till she could figure out what to do next.

She watched as the Lynx and other female was attacked, whining slightly as she did. The female was now bleeding, but there was now a male? A purple male? “What?” She questioned but didn’t have much time to continue watching. One of the wolves was brave enough to get closer and stuck its head by the alphas side. She arched her back and hissed before swatting at the wolf clawing up its nose. With a yelp the wolf backed away and started shaking its head back and forth. This was the opening she needed.

Dashing out from under the alpha that had yet to move the fox made her way towards the male. Zipping to the left and right as she dodged a wolf here and there that leaped at her, he was fighting the wolves so she thought her was there to help. She couldn’t get to her items right now there wasn’t any point in going there, she would end up bringing more wolves to the other female and the Lynx if she ran to them, so why not bring them to the male? She did watch him closely however, making sure she wouldn’t trip him or get herself hurt as she brought about four wolves running his way.

(When my next turn to post comes around is when we all shall find out if the spell works or not)

"When you are born within Mother Nature she becomes apart of you. . ."

{Fleeing To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Postby Thayer on April 25th, 2013, 12:09 am

All the raging events going on started to mesh together, sending Thayer’s self consciousness into a pit of darkness. Her body flared with pain, anger burning through her veins like electrical volts crawling through a frayed wire. It was as though Thayer’s inner awareness stepped out of her body, her exterior making movements without the control of her mind. Her carefully plotted actions soon turned into wild thrashes to any blur within reach.

Before she knew it, Thayer found herself back to back with the warrioress and her stern cries. Thayer might not have been fully healed or in great enough shape to fight, but the rage and excitement pulsated throughout her, too stunned to care. She was going to help these women get out of this horrible situation, and with an added hand, Thayer’s tactics just might help them win.

But now the screams of an enraged beast seemed to provoke the battle even more. A purple male, beyond well-built with muscles bulging in every place visible, and whom was naturally tall was swinging his sharpened weapon at terrifying speed in the direction of several wolves nearby. Thayer had heard of Wysar before. He was some sort of combat god who ruled the lands of Riverfall. This man was in no doubt an Akalak and not only by his abnormal skin tone.

The Akalak charged toward the other Kelvic girl, whom was still knelt on the ground in front of the alpha leader, trying her best to hypnotically influence his decisions. But Thayer couldn’t afford to watch others’ situations, for she was in the middle of a fight herself, fighting for her own survival as well.

Suddenly the female warrior beside her vanished in a tumble with an attacking beast. Thayer was provoked to help ward off the wolf, and seeing its claws dug deep within her shoulder, was about to pounce when she was soon cornered by multiple wild dogs herself. He first barked, lashing out at her head with a ginormous paw, but was thoughtfully avoided when her movements jumped in the opposite direction. The darker of the few in front of her charged, irritated by the playfulness of his fellow companions. The lunge was easily predicted as Thayer took her claws and grabbed at its jugular, quickly pulling the wolf to the ground beside her. She concluded his being out of the battle was a permanent observation.

The two other wolves first stared at his dead comrade in awe, and then up at Thayer who was trying to swallow the fear that bubbled up in her throat. She hadn’t yet prepared a double attack. She was aiming to split the miniature pack up so that she could defend herself one on one.

They both sprinted at her, gaining the ground that separated them. The first canine snapped at her, catching her ear within its teeth. A hiss of pain escaped from her lips as she struggled to try and release its grip as it sunk its razors deeper into the tender flesh. The other wolf ha her on her side, growling and slowly closing in on her. She needed to think quick, plan a way of action. She tried to think of what her father would have done if he was in such a perilous predicament, but her mind drew a blank as she realised her father was far too clever and far too intelligent to get himself caught in the midst of a war with Kelvics, Akalaks, warriors and wolves. Add the winter set backgrounds of a wilderness location and it would bewilder even the highly logical.

Something suddenly buzzed in her head. Within a few seconds before the wolf acting as a barrier to her left swung at her, Thayer too her right paw and sent a powerful uppercut to the jaw of the wolf holding her ear. A heavy snap and a low snarl, followed by a tearing sensation had Thayer acknowledging her defensive attack had worked, but a sharp sting from her side told her she had forgotten about the other threat.

Flying stars which were only visible to a lynx’s eyes as she lay vulnerable on the ground, the attacking dog almost on top of her. Her heart beast a fierce, unsteady rhythm, almost skipping essential poundings. The pain in her side was almost too much to bare, but she was able to kick the dog off of her, pull vaulting him over her head with her hind legs. The yelp of a wounded animal sounded through her eardrums, sending a bolt of energy through her muscles, telling her get up. She did, but they protested with anger in the process.

Ignoring it was hard, but she did so as she scrambled to a more secure environment, hobbling through fangs and claws. She managed to stumble into the brush behind the young, purple male. She needed to change. She needed to try and find supplies to stop the bleeding and to try and heal the open cuts. Finally, coming to the conclusion after so much time of thinking and rethinking both pros and cons and the consequences both would affect over her, Thayer decided to transform into her humanesque form. Bright swirling lights filled with what seemed like sparkles in the midnight’s lunar shadows, Thayer’s body instantaneously lost its fur and her claws and her four legs of all the same size. She now had fingers, toes, arms and legs as well as hair on her head and skin everywhere else. She wasn’t sure whether others had seen the lights, but she knew that she was now as nude as the other Kelvic girl who was still trying to manipulate the alpha she stood before. But she did know that the corners of her eyes started to darken, her peripheral vision dwindling down to small portions of light. The gash must be much worse than she just thought, and by the way she faded in and out of consciousness, she knew she might not make it far without the proper equipment, yet, she had nothing to put pressure on the laceration.

Anxiety soon overcame her as she started to panic, hyperventilating at the most. She knew she couldn’t get scared, and had to keep her calm, for panic only made horrid situations worse. But they were still in the middle of a battle and no one would take time to help her. But she didn’t have any other option. She would have to wait and see how things played out.

{Fleeing To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Postby Khal'iah on April 28th, 2013, 10:10 am

As shimmering lights characterized the nude woman staring intently into the eyes of the Alpha, shifting her into the form of a silver fox, the violet-skinned warrior introduced the large canine to his wonderful friend: steel. His powerful swing hit home, tearing through fur, flesh, and bone and spraying a mist into the air in the wake of his strike. The Alpha, though previously mesmerized by the actions of the Fox, now unleashed a howl of agony that tore the attention of his pack away from the women they pursued. Instead, it plastered their collective attention upon his dying form as it slumped to the forest floor, never to move again. Khal'iah did not have time to revel in the triumph over the big, bad wolf as the Fox had managed to lead four ravenous canines right to him.

'Ah shkye.' he thought to himself, steeling himself for round three. Two of the wolves immediately lunged at the Akalak, meeting a similar end to their compatriots whom fell when he had entered the fray. His buckler sailed through the air, colliding with the skull of the wolf who lunged from the left, while a downward stab sent the blade of his longsword barreling through the flesh of the wolf to his right. This motion, while effective, resulted in his blade momentarily sticking in the carcass, and while he worked to free his weapon, another wolf capitalized and lunged. Its teeth met the flesh of his swordarm, cutting a nasty wound while clinging fast for dear life. A roar of pain mingled with frustration filled the air, and the Akalak retaliated with the Lakan clasped firmly in his offhand, burying it in the base of the wolf's skull. This encouraged the deceased beast to left go and slump to the forest floor.

Then came the final wolf the Fox had led right to the warrior, who was promptly disoriented by a powerful kick to the chin on the part of the Akalak. Whilst the canine reeled, Khal'iah managed to unstick his longsword from the form of the wolf and put an end to his most recent attacker. Now it was time to play up the intimidation factor: he had slain the Alpha, he had put down six of their own, would they stay or would they run? As if to encourage them to choose the latter, Khal'iah banged his blade against his buckler, creating a loud din whilst he roared at the top of his lungs. A few of the wolves before him skitted and turned tail, running off into the woods. He desperately hoped the rest would follow suit.

{Fleeing To Zeltiva} Misunderstood Relations

Postby Thayer on August 4th, 2013, 6:51 pm

Thayer had no other intentions of staying; not after all that she'd seen. She gazed down at her wound, her mind finally calmed by incessant counting.

"One, two, three, four, repeat, one, two, three-"

The wound wasn't nearly as bad as Thayer had first intended, but it stung like a wasp's bite duplicated by ten. She held her breath and slowly drew it out as she looked around for something to tie it on. An enormous, thick leaf was sulking low behind her, consequently within arms reach. She snagged it off from its branch and set it on top of the wound, pressing it down and counting to one hundred.

Her father had taught her that counting to one hundred was an easy way to tell whether the wound was extremely deep or not, whether it stopped bleeding or continued.

The bleeding almost stopped. It continued to trickle, but that was all she needed.

Thayer emerged from the bushes, her head still slightly dizzy, but her legs and arms fully functional. She noticed the purple Akalak was still swinging his weapon without a care in the world. The female huntress was trying her best to ward off a few wolves and the other Kelvic was no where to be seen.

There were only a few more wolves left in sight, which calmed Thayer's nerves. She needed to get out of here and she needed to do it quickly, so she dashed with all the might she could possess through the heavy trees, feeling gooseflesh sprout all over her nude body. She was freezing, but perhaps she could find a warm cave or tent of a friendly traveller.

Several bells flew by as quickly as they'd come. Thayer was so cold she had to keep doing jumping jacks every five chimes, rubbing her arms over her shoulders and side.

Suddenly she caught sight of a man. He was tall, with black hair and he was leading a few other people and some animals. He had a small, button nose, yet sharply defined cheekbones, and when he turned his head Thayer saw the crystal blue eyes, much like her own.

"Toril!" She croaked out, clearing her throat before shouting his name once more. "Toril!" She cried as she ran over to him.

Toril's face was strewn in a fit of confusion and surprise, also anger as he caught sight of his sister nude and wounded.

"What happened to you, Thayer?" He asked, his face constricted into protective and empathy.

Thayer shrugged nonchalantly. "I met a few wolves."

Toril just sighed and rubbed his forehead with his fingertips. "A few wolves? I lost sight of you back at our hometown. We kept trying to find you, off track of the trail! And you were just playing with a few wolves. And what is that bloody injury there?"

Thayer shivered, trying to send the message that she was freezing. Her brother sighed and nodded his head, searching in his rucksack for his sister's clothing.

"I brought everything from home, except for your heirloom," he told her quietly.

Thayer took the shirt, pants and jacket quickly, putting on the shoes last, shaking her feet from dried leaves and tiny flakes of new snow. "What about dad? Mum?"

Toril didn't say anything. He just gave his sister a hug and told her to follow him. They were heading to Zeltiva with a few family Kelvic friends and animals from back in the forests of Ravok.

"I met an Akalak, a human huntress and another Kelvic at the wolf fight," Thayer sputtered, trying to create an awkward conversation.

"I'm at least glad that you had help. Did you wrap something tighter around your wound?" Toril reached in his rucksack once more, rummaging through all of his supplies, losing the backpack and the tent bag off both of his shoulders in the process. He handed her his sister's underwear to tie on her wound, which she did.

"Why Zeltiva?" Thayer asked as she helped pick up her older sibling's items.

Toril shrugged. "Father told us to come here. There's a University and many stores and a port with an amazing sea. Perhaps he thought it would be a safe place to go."

Thayer nodded her head, shutting up and stepping in line behind her brother.

"Thanks for not stopping to look for me," Thayer thanked him.

Toril just nodded his head and gave his sister a half smile. "That's what brothers are for, right?"

THE END

OCC :
I had to end this thread here, because it was soon going to be abandoned and none of my fellow writers were replying. I hope that this is an appropriate ending; I just wanted to make sure that this ended in line with how my character got through the woods and into Zeltiva like the rest of my threads have been going off of. Thank you.
